    Great work Jim!
Right off the bat, your music choices and then the volumetric balancing with your dialog was very, very well done.
It supported the message and your narration.
If you go after that little bit of sibilence, I'd reccomend a gentle approach.
I find it a very easy thing to hyper-focus on and then over-correct.
As a Sci-Fi nerd, I too would like to hear just a bit more "Horror and Desperation" towards the end of the cataclysmic asteroid event.
Fantastic work, that stuff is polish.
Great choices in the spots too.
    Best regards,
    B
    👊

Hi Jay ! As a new VOA Im having trouble being able to listen critically and discern smaller audio issues a trained professional like you would catch. I know there's going to be no replacement for time and just listening a ton to build this skill set... But with that being said, do you have any videos on this topic? Or any advice you would give to help train from being a casual listener to having a critical professional ear? Thank you so much for all you do for the community!

Of course! That's a great question. The best way I found was to do LOTS of A/B comparisons between your recordings and "pro" recordings. Ads on TV/Radio/RUclips/etc, audiobooks, professional demos on casting/agency websites--pull your recordings up at the same time as those and listen back and forth. That was how I trained my ears as well as working with and learning from audio engineers and how their ears work and what they're listening for. There are some channels I've found helpful listed in the description, but @audiouniversity, @inthemix, and @mikerussell have all been helpful in my learning.

I had a technical question about Jim's audio. I noticed throughout the video that the tops of the audio waves were just clearly cut off all the way across when looking at the spectral frequency display. I was helping someone clean up their audio, and recently noticed this same issue. Do you happen to know what's causing it or why it's like that? If so how does it affect the overall quality, if at all? Thanks in advance for any insight you can share! Really enjoying these review videos! Also awesome Demo Jim!! I too wanted BBQ after listening 🥲!

Great question! Some microphones only capture sound frequencies up to around 16kHz, whereas many others go up to 20kHz. My guess is that the type of mic Jim is using is one of the former, or that he's using a low-pass filter. As far as audio quality, if you were doing a close listen you might miss some detail/articulation in the higher frequencies which might be useful in certain types of recordings.
