I love hair jigs. Kind of an overlooked secret bait I have. My 3 favorite are the Spro, Blakemore and Arkie. I can only find the Arkie style at TW and they are like $2 each. On the Spro and Blakemore I will add a tiny fluke tail for bulk and the hair to flutter around. Thank you for this video! Bog is a beautiful, chill pup!

Good stuff as always! Ever use a trailer to slow the fall or to add some vibration? Bucktail jigs are a staple for striped bass in the saltwater in the Northeast and you hardly ever see them without a grub or fluke style trailer....granted they are always in either current or surf.... and believe it or not I've never even thought about throwing the heavier jigs for freshwater bass. The marabou jigs on the other hand is a different story...(smallies love'em)...
Tying various lengths of leader (depending on what depth the fish are suspended)on the back of a topwater and attached the Marabou to it can be a great way to bit in the strike zone of suspended fish.

i don't know that area very well but if it were me i'd use google maps and look for ponds and little lakes to hop around on. you can stumble across some awesome little honey holes that way.

You should really do some Neko stuff I just got 2nd place on it 2days ago, it’s legit, and you got fish it fast in grass. But it was a spawning tournament some fish on beds but so windy you couldn’t really fish for them, Neko rig caught them though
I love fishing jigs, I have a couple of hair jigs but just haven’t had any success yet, I have a question about something you didn’t cover in the video, it’s about trailers, I’ve always used them when trying to figure this presentation out, maybe that’s wrong after seeing your video and I just need to go after a higher quality hair jig, what’s your thoughts on when to use trailers and when not to?
imo unless they are absolutely chomping them and you want a larger profile i never use a trailer. i think it screws with the fall and the hair really does everything a plastic trailer would do and more.

Long time ago those were called a fly and rind so here is old school yellow hair jig with frog spot pork rind or white hair jig with red and white pork rind l know there is not to much pork rind around any more but you could use trailer that are common now on what they call jig and pig then there used to be a thing called a doll fly which was a hair jig with a plastic worm threaded on usually white jig red or purple worm and yellow with red or purple worm they used to fish them around bridges and don’t forget about the preachers jig which was a big hair jig and then there was a big hair jig with a big reaper threaded on it it was made for strippers it was done up white and grey and white and green or chartuse the reaper were usually white grey sliver sometimes yellow and more up to our time early scrounged jig made a walleye version hair jig in fire tiger but l am going to use it for smallmouth that’s old school

Any noob can catch fish with your equipment and boat. As a bank angler I don’t understand how you can be a professional angler vs a technical privileged cheater.
