This is a prime example of what homebrew subclasses get right that the many of the at this point *_ANCIENT_* official subclasses don't get or lack severely: *_THAT TASTY JUMMY SUCCULENT FLAVOR_* - absolutely love the idea behind this subclass!
I absolutely LOVE the "Magic Coin" feature...the image of a stylish bard, casually flipping a coin through the air at an enemy with enough force to cause a sonic wave is just sweet. For fun, you can add the "Crusher" feat to also push the target when the coin hits them (since is DOES deal at least 1 point of bludgeoning damage).
When it comes to 3rd party content, only certain spells are available to use in the SRD, but they could have created a similar spell of their own. Instead they went with the bonus to haggling prices. Thanks for watching!
This is absolutely amazing I've always wanted to play a Bard like this because I think coins are such a unused component in role-playing except for when you're buying things
Yet another well thought out and flavorful subclass. I'm hoping that Wizards of the Coast are taking notes from these independent sources on how to properly make a subclass.
What a joyfull mix of roleplay and a seasoning of combat. Very good for a campaing where the party is always moving among cities. Just to avoid exploits the chance to not consume itens could be related to proficience bonus or charisma moddifier. You only consume one use at a succes. I look foward to check the other classes.
Hey guys! Great video as always, this class seems really fun to play. Just letting y’all know that the description says this is from Valda’s, not the Griffon’s Saddlebag. Have a great day!
imagine.....a jaskier based mercantile bard build, in a witcher based campaign. everytime they use that "cantrip" they have to sing "toss a coin to your witcher." lmao....I'll see myself out haha. great video fellas!
I feel like at level 6 or 14 they could’ve added an ability that (maybe Proficiency or Charisma Mod times per day) allows whoever uses your Coin Toss feature to get a second coin toss should the first result be tails
Magic coin has a steady 5% return on investment of non-taxable income. Sounds like the D&D version of a ROTH IRA full of blue cap stock. Obviously, it's an essential part of every portfolio.
Does the coin still do double on a crit or just replicate? Because a d12 is pretty high base damage. I can see them giving a higher damage dice to balance the lack of crit possibility.
Nvmd, I misunderstood the feature. Just one point of damage and then a d12 of thunder. Also, I don’t think you get to add your proficiency bonus or charisma mod to the damage so that balances out a bit So a crit would only make it two damage and a d12 right? Or would you double the thunder dice too?
Critical Hits as written in the PHB double the damage DICE not the damage ("Roll all of the attack's damage dice twice and add them together. Then add any relevant modifiers as normal.") So it would be 1+ 2d12 on a critical hit. The ability is essentially a cantrip and cantrips don't normally add any modifier to the damage. As we mentioned it just gives bard a ranged spell attack option that they wouldn't otherwise have. Thanks for watching!

As a penny pincher and lover of bards, this subclass speaks to me as though it is whispering sweet nothings in my ear.
This is the best homebrew bard subclass I've ever seen. You could say it's worth its weight in gold 😉
Definitely expected this would give Distort Value as an always prepared/once per day for free spell

It's so much fun watching you guys gesticulate so much during the "asterisk, asterisk" bit leading into the roleplay rating section!
My God something more terrifying than the horny bard....
The Greedy Bard!
Love this subclass, especially the second
Feature, would most likely use this subclass in a acquisition inc campaign
The flip a coin mechanic seams amazing.
I fear the merchant with a +15 on persuasion

Great subclass. Love the thundermoney!!

Maybe I mix this with the Wild card Rogue, the deadliest gambler build. "The High Stakes" player
I'm actually doing it for the next campaign. Character's name is "Lord" Vega, and he is the embodinent of Gambling and Loss - of other's loss.
These subclasses seem really interesting so far! I haven’t decided if I want to use this content in my campaign yet but I’m leaning on the side of yes

Thank you! It has been corrected! Thanks for watching!

Fun and interesting bard.
I want to play a Leprechaun(Halfling) with this sub class.
Where can I get this book I SO want it!
Link to preorder in the video description and we also have a pinned comment with the link! Thanks for watching!
I really wanna play this.
Really unique for a bard.
a free crit from a divination wizards portents is an infinite money scheme just waiting to happen
