Great review.. I've had my 2015 Impreza Sport for about 6 months now and absolutely love it. I put 200,000 miles on my previous Impreza, then decided to try a Ford Focus. That only lasted for 3 years. I had huge issues with the Focus transmission and fought with Ford over it. Suffice it to say, I'm back to the Impreza. Glad I hit the re-fresh for all the cool new stuff :)
A very very practical car indeed. Style not bad at all (consider mitsu lancer). I have checked almost all cars (both 4/5 doors) in this segment and I think the impreza hatchback is the top pick when combining reliability, functionality, pessenger space (look at the rear pessenger headroom), fuel economy, active safety, and cargo space both for daily and weekend activities. And thanks for your great review!
You can get the 26k one for about 23k; if you negotiate. We just bought a Forester Premium 2016 for $25k. It has optional CVT, compass mirror, and the lit side view mirrors... plus every rubber mat available on every end.
lcar4000 The AWD system for Subaru's manuals are arguably better than their automatics, even on the same trim. Also, up until I think 2014, Subaru didn't even sell automatics for their WRX series.
sure fire Nah, there's a 2014 WRX with a CVT. You might be confusing hatchback, which they ditched for 2015. That being said, I too have the 5-speed 2015 impreza, except mine is hatchback.
Peter Schmidt how do you like driving it. I use to have a 08 wrx and it be came a lemon. traded it in for a 2013 hatch impreza but all I could find was a cvt. now if I can a payment where i needed, thinking about trading it in on a 2015 hatch with a 5 speed now that I finely found one. does any one know if they inproved the springs, and rebound of the on the struts that was my only complant withmy 2013. oh and the base model not having a rear sway bar, did subaru finely put on. I ended up having to put a 2012 sti rear sway bar on mine.
+schizobipolarjoe Wow.. that is fast to replace. We kept our 04 Forester til a month ago. Bought a new Forester. But it still would have gone far far longer. We just could not fit a back facing child's seat in that model year, we would have kept it if we could. Subarus are great cars. You car has a long long life ahead.
djkenny I know but I hate how the cvt was, it was so laging. I ended up saving money, and traded it in for a 2012 premium with all weather package, and it also had the 17 inch limited wheel package on it. got it for !3,500 with 32,xxx miles on it, and it retails for 18,500. in the area I'm at.
djkenny well just a little roll over. but not much. just more of what I wanted. I know subaru's last a long time. my family is on there 5th. I had a wrx, then the 13 impreza, now the 12 impreza. my sister had a 05 forester, then finely two years ago here common law husband bought here a 2015 premium forester. then my mom is thinking about a legacy, and my sister and her common law husband want to get his oldest girl a impreza.
Seem replaced pretty fast with new ones? Do they drive 300k miles every 9 years? We had such low miles on our 04, barely 140k. Did nto want to let it go for a new one. We do love it and it will be around a very very long time.

I'm about to trade my 2015 Ford Focus for the same issues. Getting a Subaru Impreza Sport!

Good review. I also like the fact that it's available in a manual, which is unusual for an AWD car.

Peter Schmidt they didn't for the WRX, 2015 is the first year. i agree i prefer manual, i got a 15 impreza sedan with the 5 speed manual, love the car

Made in Japan quality and don't forget Good Safety ratings, seats shaped like a Lexus
thanks for the review as I'm looking at replacing my 2013 base model hatch with cvt for a 2015 base model with a 5 speed.
