Luv it....super fun and very inspiring. I luv how you injoy the play and don't treat it all too seriously. the using of all the paint and paper is calming for my heart! thank you!
I was searching for a substitute for watersoluable printing ink AND for printing a collagraph without a printing press and I am VERY grateful for this excellent and inspiring tutorial. Now I'll search for some more from you after reading other comments here. Much love from Norway! :)
dea rChristine, many thanks for taking the time to write this observation - I appreciate it. Have you seen the other videos on the new Atelier mediums, and on some painting techniques? I really love sharing what I know and hope you have found something helpful.
That looks more relief like Lino printing . Colligraph I’ve seen goes into the lower layers as well as the top in other colours . Is there a way to get it to lower layers without a press?
Dear Kerry, it depends on the height of the elements you have used in making the collagraph plate. You can use either Atelier Middle Medium or Atelier Clear Painting Medium if the elements are of a taller height like large buttons, wooden shapes etc, otherwise, for example with the collage plate where the elements are smaller (like paper clips, fine lace etc) I mixed in some Atelier Retarder Medium as the paint is applied to the plate with a bristle bush, very carefully so as not to clog up the smaller areas, because the acrylic paint needs to stay moist during that process. I hope you enjoy this technique! Sincerely, Tricia
