Great rundown. I always mix speakers but I never understood why Bogner puts the T75 and V30 in an X pattern when the V30 is louder... it's not just rated higher in sensitivity - the upper mid cut makes it louder than even most other 100db speakers. They do the same thing with their Helios 2x12 by putting an M65 Creamback next to a V30. When other companies (like Freidman) mix speakers they put the lower sensitivity speakers on top and v30's on bottom (2 greenbacks on top, 2 V30's on bottom).
And that's why I love mixing in the T75's. They add some really nice top end clarity. Someday you gotta try two Greenbacks on top & two T75's on the bottom. Best 4x12 mix ever to my old ears.
Awesome, Lugo! Think I´d go Mesa with Bogner cab, and Marshall with Mesa cab. Mesa was gooood on Bogner, very cool combination (Less ear fatique than Mesa with Mesa). Think the Mesa cab (with Mesa head) was almost "too tight" or kind of dry in comparison. On the other hand the Marshall rocked with that Mesa cab!
Love the video, thanks for posting! I think the Bogner cab sounds richer and bigger sounding but the Mesa cab sounds excellent as well. I love the tone you get with guitars. Sounds so amazing.
I have a Bogner Ecstacy 101B with a Mesa cabinet. I’m happy with the sound. Here it is hard for me to tell, maybe my iPod Pros are limited, but a great effort on your part. Awesome tone!
That’s still a good set up, although your head is the reason, it sounds good. Have you ever thought of matching it with a Bogner straight 4x12 cab. They are thick, with awesome hair on the notes. Directo cabs only problem is that Mesa over braces them so the cats don’t Resonate. The Bogner cabs use a soundboard that’s tune to the queue of the speaker on the back baffle they are probably the most musical sounding cabs you’ll ever hear if you get a chance, take your head and set it on top of a Bogner for 12 I’m sure you can find one in a city in Arial. It’s worth trying I have a 1998 Ecstasy 101b that was built for a combo but the order got canceled so they put that amp in a metal grill head and that amp is really overbuilt and has Military Grade components through along with Rubycon black gate filter caps. I think in 2004 they switch to non-military spec parts and went to Malory filter caps which are still good but the tolerances are plus or -10%.
I like running my 16ohm Bogner cab with the 8ohm setting on my Bogner 101B and Classic. Makes the middle/low mids stand out more in a pleasng way. You still thinking of going with greenbacks in the UberCab?
I took your advice and did the 57/121 on the Mesa Cab, sounds great and I put that TLM102 on the Matchless cab with a 57 and that sounds great. Double win. Thanks
@@jameslugo It's the sound of the first linkin park record. Dual rec through mesa cab into 57 and 121 double tracked. 2 more tracks of a modded plexi slightly mixed in. Mesa and marshall blend is a great thing to do in my opinion.
I preferred the Mesa cab because it gave the lower-mid focused DR some brightness however the tone is dryer. I preferred the Marshall with the Bogner UberCab as it gives it more bass and more open sounding mid frequencies. But these are just personal preferences. Thanks for the comparison.
Awesome job Mr. Lugo!!! Mesa Cab wins!!! No doubt. Definition, punch... yeaaahhhh!!! Cheers from Brazil.
Thanks a lot!

Love that Bogner 4x12. Sounds awesome man!!
It does!
I really like the tone you are getting out of the recto, I like both cabs...
Thanks Jeff, I've really grown better at recording it.

That's kind of what I was thinking too.

Thanks so much Jason.

Nice! What pickups do you have in the LP?
WB Fire, it's old pickup
Bogner rear loaded?
Front
@@jameslugo ah ok. Newer cab then.
Is the Mesa 8ohm and the Bogner 16ohm? That may explain the perceived volume difference.
It is, it seems like the voicing of the Mesa hit's that hot spot in the ear.

Both great, you should try different micings. 121 and 57 on the Mesa is a classic 00's approach for example.
I will I just wanted same mics for the test.

Ultimately I did too.
