I got Kill Bill 1 & 2 and Mr. Pink from the Liongate Limited. KB 1&2 are my favorite Tarantino films. I don’t care for the new art work on the steelbooks, but i wanted to support LG on their new direct to buyer venture. I really wanted Jackie Brown but after I paid $108, I was tapped out. I wish they would go back to $34.99 price. I can hardly wait for The Hateful Eight to get the 4K treatment. I would love it if they would include the extended “Roadshow” cut. Along with more appropriate art work.
Lionsgate steelbooks: A for effort, just not a fan of the art on them. Like seeing the slip shtick, but to be honest I’m getting tired of steelbooks, my excitement for them doesn’t happen anymore. I prefer Arrow and Criterion plastic cases over anything, and cardboard box casings are fine if the movie inside still resides in a standard case.
I do believe you are misinformed the most recent blu ray of Django Unchained was put out by lionsgate in 2019 sony has never released it they only own the rights to Once Upon a Time in Hollywood
The transfer for Vol 1 is absolutely terrible. The issues with the grain that existed on the Blu-ray are hyper exaggerated and anytime there's people talking, or a close up of a face it just destroys the scene. It's like the "grain" is actually some kind of "grain screen" that moves independently from everything behind it. The movie looks "fine" to even "pretty good" two-thirds of the time, but anytime they show faces...just...gross. It legitimately looks like a bandwidth/streaming interruption during a streamed film with compression artifacts and a low bit-rate, but with the TV sharpness set to max. Not trying to sound like an ass, but I'm genuinely curious on what kind of a setup you viewed this on and how far away you sat. Vol 2, for whatever reason doesn't suffer this same issue nearly as much and it's really only noticeable at the black and white rehearsal at the very start. Other than that, it's a noticeable improvement over the Blu-ray. Jackie Brown is by far the best of the three and looks phenomenal, but this should be expected as the other two were 2K DI's and this was an actual film scan. Also, Vol 1 is just the setup. The world building/mythology, and other than that it's just a long, drawn out action scene. Vol 2 actually has history and character development. When I was a lot younger, Vol 1 (especially at release) was in my top five favorite films of all time, and I was disappointed initially with Vol 2 since it was so different. Over time though I warmed up to it quite a bit, and I think overall it's the better of the two films, but it just depends on what you're after. Vol 1 is "poppy" and "fun" where Vol 2 has actual depth. Besides that, I'd argue the Ellie Driver fight and the Pai Mai sequences were the most entertaining action set pieces of either of the two films.
we are missing just 3 Tarantino 4ks Death Proof, Django, and Hateful Eight

Did you check out the encode and if so, how high is it tracking?

100%...Criterion case w/ booklet inside.
Classic and gets the job done 🤘
It seems that the steelbooks look better in person.
Lions Gate does NOT have the rights to Django Unchained. That belongs to Columbia Pictures, which is owned by Sony.

Kill Bill Vol. 2 is definitely better
I think the film itself is a bit better, but the 4K transfer is absolutely better than Vol 1.
I hate the design of these steelbooks. They dont fit any of the films' aesthetic. Good review though man.
This is the worse 4k reviewer on youtube!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
