The Royal Experience This American Family Will Never Forget! The Grand Palace, Bangkok, Thailand

- We loved seeing the Grand Royal Palace of Thailand in Bangkok. On our way, we wandered through a Thai street market and had fun seeing all of their shops, food, produce, and more. We took the train, which was an adventure in itself. Coming out of the subway was a great surprise as the station was decorated beautifully to match the grand palace. We then took a long walk along the wall with glimpses of the royal palace, the Thai temples, and other historical buildings.
As we arrived at the royal grand palace it was neat to see a change of the guard and lots of guards marching through the courtyard. After purchasing tickets and masks (surprised to still have this in force) we entered the beautiful palace grounds. We were amazed by all of the paintings, statues, and buildings. There were so many emasculate decorations on everything: tiny mirrors, mosaics of beautiful ceramics, gems, and much more. It was stunning and beautiful. There was gold everywhere making things glimmer in the sunshine. The statues in the green gardens were inviting and intriguing. We loved the lily pads, large pots, and bonsai trees. The historical paintings that tell the story of Thailand were amazing to see as they went on and on and contained so much detail. The variety of buildings was stunning. They ranged from pure gold buildings to an ornate central temple, to complete stone buildings and more.
We took some time to enter the Wat Arun temple. After removing our shoes, we entered the temple and knelt down on the carpet. We were instructed to have the bottom of our feet facing away from the buddha to show respect. The gold and decorations were amazing in the temple, along with more of the traditional Thai paintings.
We really were amazed by how beautifully preserved and kept everything is. It was well worth the price and we spent hours there entertained and still felt like we didn't see everything. It was a hot and humid day, but it was still worth every bit of it.
Because we were so hot, we stopped by the cafe to order fruit smoothies. They were like slushies that cooled us all down along with the air conditioning. It was a great experience for our family. Welcome to Thailand. Glad you enjoyed the Grand Palace. If you are going there again, I suggest you go in the morning and get a taxi (or Grab) at the Sanam Chai MRT Station so you and your children don’t have to walk in the heat for so long. You can keep your energy to walk around the Grand Palace and the Temple of the Emerald Buddha instead. I personally think that if you join the group with an English-speaking guide, it would be better in terms of understanding the history as well as architecture. Anyway, love your vlog and look forward to next one.

The escalator is slower just when nobody using it (to save energy.) It will slow down until stop and will work again if someone walk on its platform.
Enjoy your trip to Bangkok! Just a tip, before we went there pre-pandemic, my daughter who is very visual watched RUclips videos of walking tours of different places in Bangkok so that she knows what landmarks to look for and what they looked like. We got around by taking their trains and we didnt get lost!

The escalator slow down to save energy when it is not use. Some eventually stop, when not used for a certain period of time. The speed will ramp when someone step on the escalator entrance, there is a sensor there.

Thank you very much for VDO on behalf of Thais. If you have longer time stay in Bangkok, I would suggest one more place which is one of my favorite temple. It is gorgeous and beautiful, calls Wat Ratbopitch, the temple of King Rama 5 and Rama 9. You can walk around outside and inside will open every Bhudist holy day. Enjoy your trip :)

For a change from the beaches and if you like colder weather, waterfalls and mountains, go up north to Baguio City and further up north to Sagada, Mountain Province, a very laid back mountainous simple village, my hometown. A lot of people formed Manila and the south go up during the summer for colder weather. Also SIARGAO is a must ...BATANES if you like New Zealand like haha, BORACAY is so beautiful too. Take care guys from a Filipino fan watching from Milan, Italy
