Thank you for putting out such a comprehensive video!!! I am a 58 year old grandmother and have kept kissers as pets for over 15 years! My kids and now grandkids have loved them😊. Others (friends, coworkers and relatives), on the other hand, think I am a bit odd, lol!!!😂
My daughter and future son in law think I'm mad for recently choosing to adopt these as pets. I'm waiting for them to arrive and make them change their pov!🇨🇵😎🥰
I'm actually waiting for my first 3 females and 2 males to arrive. My friend is (I hope) getting the extra 5 females (all donated by a friend in Germany). I prepared a nice divided terrarium for them (100lt approx). But watching your video,I might suggest to do a quick visit to my 8 yr old DS son's mainstream school so the kids get to know them and like them as pets instead of being scared of them. I don't plan on breeding them unless I have demands that are not for being feeders. So glad I watched your video. Thanks so much!❤ 🇧🇪 🇨🇵
I have a small colony of 6 adult male African Madagascar Hissing Cockroaches. I love the species you showed in your video. I'll love to have a colony of what you have they look amazing!!
Thank you so much for this video!! I’m actually planning on getting hissers as my first invertebrate pet and this helped a ton. Your work is greatly appreciated!!
Great video, very informative and changes how you see a creature that is viewed very negatively. Is this species the typical one that most people have as pets or are other cockroach species also common?
I'm obviously not the poster but I'm looking into doing the same. From my research so far it should be a great fit as long as you're able to maintain their slightly higher humidity just as consistently.
My mom is allergic to roach poop and she weres a mask.Is there any other way she can clean roach poop in a different way to not get allergic then just wearing a mask?
I recently have gotten the opportunity to get my hissing cockroachs but after holding them my hand and throat were itchy. Is there anything that can be done to prevent this allergy and is it still a good idea to keep them?
Some people are allergic to different bugs like roaches and even mealworms! I usually wear a mask when cleaning their enclosures because their waste triggers my asthma! I've never had a reaction to touching them though :/ I probably would reconsider keeping them if I reacted that way to holding them.

Love the colors of the Halloween Hissers! Very fun insects to learn about and interact with.

Would they do well in a bioactive ball python enclosure? The husbandry needs are very similar.
