While somewhat informative the discussion of cuticle layers is fraught with misnomers. The exo-cuticle and endo-cuticle bracket the molting process. The epicuticle is created in part before ecdysis and after ecdysis. The exo-cuticle is produced prior to ecdysis and endo-cuticle after ecdysis creating an ecdysial line that distinguishes the cuticle prior to and after the actual molting (i.e. ecdysis). It reminds me of AI that gathers information but creates errors when it does not have a substantial validated database underlying its 'artificial intelligent' pronouncements. I know insect and crustacean cuticle and this "Episode 3" is no expert description.
Thanks for giving positive feedback I agree but This is basic information only related to cuticle just basic outline information. Next coming episode is purely on complete ecdysis process and describe who's hormones and glands involved and how ecdysis occur. Stay with me I will cover all aspects.
@@haseebjanjutt I was speaking mainly of 'hard cuticles'. With the soft cuticles of caterpillars there is tremendous growth during the entire stadium allowing the 'unwrinkling of the initial cuticle' after ecdysis. Michael Locke described the inter-susceptive growth that occurs in caterpillar cuticles adding substance and filling out the wrinkles. Lots of variability to talk about!
