oh i recently watched a video that said it's a good idea to opaque the aquarium glass at turtle level, so they can see it and avoid bonking into it over and over
I was told my little miss is very old. She is very picky and will only eat live food and cantaloupe or strawberries. She won't eat anything else, and if I add vitamins to it, she knows and will walk sway.
She walks over vegetables and flowers. It's live meat or her favorite fruit and that is it.
my 3 toed box turtle (donatello) loves all the pacific northwest's slugs and snails,, and i keep a dandelion planted in his water dish for forage
Mine is a very picky eater . I found him as adult month ago . He seems to only like live food so I withhold it from him to force him to eat the veggies however I got lucky as a few days ago i discovered that blueberries are so far his favorite . He can’t resist them and swallows them whole ! He loves the fat juicy grubs I dug up in my yard .

I soak before they feed. You have the most beautiful turtles. I can’t believe how the littles come to you to eat. The cutest. I have too many to have that kind of time.
My year old eats nightcrawlers and romaine lettuce. She is very picky. I will have to try your method. Her favorite is nightcrawlers. If it's not moving she doesn't show much interest. I have tried different things and she won't touch it. I also use calcium with d3. She is doing great and had her since she was size of half dollar.
None of them really liked the canned box turtle food at first but when I started mixing the crickets in they started eating more and more of the mix each feeding. Good luck if you try feeding your year old the way that I do!
They are so cute. My box turtle Big mama she is the same color as your baby's i have 1 turtle i have to get big mama some crickets and turtle food she loves fruits and vegetables. She's my baby girl I have 1 daughter and 1 cat his name is Heyman he loves to stay outside so he's with the other cats i feed him and his friends 5 others I love them all i feed them everyday my other baby's cats 🙋♀️🐢👍👍God bless ya'll and many baby turtles
Poop is not gross. It's a window into your pet's health as you mention. I gladly check it daily.

When my 2 turtles were wandering around the kitchen and found dog food that’s what they preferred besides vegetables and fruit

I do have a difficult time getting my 3 toed to eat veggies so I give her Vitamin A once a week. But I will definitely try it your way, maybe I'll have better luck.
I've always had luck introducing new foods little by little mixed in with foods they already love.

I do 2x per week. Wednesdays and Sundays.

Recently found your channel when searching for Three-Toed information. I adopted a 12-year-old Three-Toed female, as well as a 12-year-old female Ornate, from someone who cold no longer care for her. In the 3 weeks they've been in my care, the Three-Toed hasn't been eating while the Ornate can't wait for chow time. Any suggestions on how to get my Three-Toed girl to get her appetite back?
Keep trying different things until she finds her favorite food. Then mix little by little other things in with it until she starts eating whatever you give her. Don't worry if it takes a while. I have a 30 year old 3 Toed and she was picky too until I tried that technique and now she eats everything.
Try using some nightcrawlers!

If you're gonna use tap water you need to treat it.
Some people have well water not tap.
Thanks for the reminder. You are the reason I’m going to the store today to get a water treatment additive. Mine has been on tap water for a month since I found him.

Box turtles can be put all together? I got 3 and I m afraid to put them all together one of them keeps getting on top of the other ones schell
These animals should not live on such dry substrate, they need some more moist - forest-like substrate
Moist hide is available for them and daily consistent spraying of substrate with fresh water keeps things wet. Appreciate your concern.

the canned food is full of starchy, low class veggies that are just sugar
His nails are way too long. You really should have some rocks etc for them to climb. Do you ever take them outside?
