the wireless switch was there because windows 7 didn't have the ability to turn off the wifi card in software so it's interesting to see it in a windows 10 era laptop
hey! can asking a few questions? - what is the strongest game that can run on it? - is it well built? - is there any annoyances at using it daily? - when was it released (I mean the base model) - is it hard to replace the ssd? and also Thanks for reviewing this laptop!
I've tried some games (I don't have a large PC gaming library) Fortnite is literally unplayable Roblox runs extremely well and theres no framedrops whatsoever Minecraft Java runs smooth with some settings adjusted The laptop overall feels well built, it is extremely light, weighing only 920 grams (I weighed it on a scale) The laptop's exterior is made of both plastic and magnesium (an unusual metal for electronics) The SZ6 models of the Let's Note were released in 2017, mine is a 2018 manufactured unit (still the 2017 model) SSD is a standard SATA M.2 2280 SSD, so any off the shelf M.2 2280 SSD will work if it's a SATA drive (nvme drives won't work as there's no nvme support) it's easy to open up, the bottom comes off easily and uses only Philips head screws only annoyances I've come across in regular use is the keyboard, Backspace, Enter, and Space are all too small, and the Japanese layout moves some symbols and special characters around so I often make more errors when typing on it (all my other computers have US English or Canadian Multilingual keyboards, which are almost identical layouts, while the Japanese layout has major differences) overall I think it's an excellent laptop, but not the easiest to get in the west due to only being sold in Japan the total price of $400 CAD after taxes and customs fees isn't bad, far better than spending $400 on a new laptop over here that will be equipped with a Celeron and 4GB RAM, the CPU in this laptop is still several times better than a current gen Celeron in terms of performance this laptop's MSRP is 211,800 yen ($1,993 CAD), so $400 total is worth it I'd say
the display is awesome on this laptop, it's an IPS panel with excellent vieweing angles, and the colours are very vivid resolution is 1920x1200 it is by far the best display on any laptop I've ever owned
does the left-most USB port on the right side of the device support power delivery? I've seen models where it says "CHG" and i wonder if that means charge?
Unfortunately, it's not, so avoid the 4GB RAM model if possible The SSD can be upgraded as it's a standard M.2 SATA SSD DVD drive can be removed Wifi can be upgraded the RAM being soldered is the only real downside of this laptop I have been inside this laptop for a thermal paste replacement, so I confirmed which internal parts could be upgraded also, thanks for the good video comment, i appreciate it
I purchased it from a Japan based ebay seller, they shipped it from Japan through FedEx, I did have to pay $50 in Canadian Customs fees, this part will depend on how your country regulates imported goods, it was easy overall but the customs fees were a (bad) surprise I would say ebay is the easiest way to obtain one of these
I did a clean install of US English Windows 11, you cannot easily change the language in Windows as they're usually region specific Windows activates by default with an English Windows version so activation isn't an issue clean installing Windows is straightforward if you know how to access the boot menu and create a bootable USB drive with a Windows .iso I set the keyboard layout to Japanese but it types only english, this is important as Japanese keyboards have some symbols and punctuation keys located in different places vs a US english keyboard
If you do homerow typing, it will be too small and cramped. If you hunt and peck, it is very comfortable. You can purchase an English keyboard to replace the Japanese one.
Have you tried any Linux distros on this I've seen online that people have gotten arch Linux to work on panasonic let’s notes computers is there any to gave tried on the laptop?
this particular one does have soldered RAM unfortunately, I have torn down this laptop before, most modern laptops now have soldered RAM, since Apple started doing it with 2013 models, I noticed laptops have increasingly started using soldered RAM
unfortunately this laptop literally doesn't have the space for a ram slot it has an optical drive AND a space for a 2.5" harddrive inside (some models come with 320gb harddrives) they could probably make a model with ram slots but you have to either get rid of the optical drive or the 2.5" hdd slot

Little thing about the trackpad: Circling makes you scroll in/out, it doesn't work like a normal trackpad.
It’s Japanese work. They seem doesn’t wanna make things normally usage
Pretty sure at least some of them are sold in Singapore as well, but you're right that they haven't made their way to the west yet.

at this rate I would avoid even the 8GB RAM models unless you're really starved for cash.
What's it's batery life???
In the video he specifically says it lasts "six or seven hours" pal
Hi, how did you import this from Japan? Was the process of importing the laptop a difficult one?
You can use a Japanese proxy service. Google Japanese proxy service and take your pick. Personally, I used Doorzo and had a good experience.

They soldered RAM to laptop motherboards back in the 90s, but they got away from that trend.
