One cult tactic I've learned from an online ministry is when a pastor sends in a resume either not clearly stating what they believe or doctrines to affirm or just lie about what they believe in or what doctrines they affirm so they can win the position of pastor of that church, then they'll cultivate the congregations trust and loyalty over a number of years while subverting what the congregation believes in by slowly cramming their own theology in the scriptures and doing doctrinal gymnastics. One example is Calvinists infiltrating Baptist churches and deceiving the congregation into affirming Calvinist doctrines and rejecting Baptist doctrines over a span of years.
Being felt like the black sheep for missing any services, not able to visit other churches or go to other gatherings without permission, always having to ask permission to do anything, feeling like we’re not worthy enough unless we sacrifice long hours and are going above and beyond for the ministry. Not prioritizing our kids or family time but ministry always has to be first. The logo is if we take care of the ministry, God will take care of our homes, please tell me is that biblical? Constant rebuke or called rebellious if we question authority. A lot of false prophesy and promises that do not always come to pass, feeling like this particular church is the only good church and the rest are deceived, preparing for a harvest that isn’t coming because no one does any type of outreaching or giving back to the community so we have an expectation that is not real because we have not labored in any way in the streets or took care of the widows or feed homeless. Jesus is talked about but his grace is not sufficient, unless we live by the law and not the focus, mountain mandates and bringing heaven down and doctrines that don’t make sense, No salvation calls, consisting calling out other ministries, when corrupt leaders are in authority and we bring up our concerns, nothing is done, control and constant manipulation. I think what breaks my heart the most is all the children who are involved with their parents spending hours and hours in this cult never get to see anything outside of a church wall, just ministry and that’s it.

They give spiritual guidance alright! However, it is not truth! God says He didn't send these Pastors. These "pastors" prophesy false dreams like the pretribulation rapture of the "church" calling this heresy (doctrine of demons) "the Blessed Hope" THE BLESSED HOPE is Jer 31:15-17 [Jer 23:32 NKJV] 32 "Behold, I [am] against those who prophesy false dreams," says the LORD, "and tell them, and cause My people to err by their lies and by their recklessness. Yet I did not send them or command them; therefore they shall not profit this people at all," says the LORD.
Confusing people: making people to think that Serving the building of the church is what God wants. But God wants believers to serve the whole body of Christ and as well as to share the gospel not just on Sunday’s inside a building but to take the church to the outside world. That is actually doing God’s will.

But some don’t teach the truth and they teach that by good church attendance you’ll be saved. Or by serving in a church you’ll be saved. I always talk about God to them. My Job is my church. I help those around me who need help and show Jesus to them. The church building I go to when I can. The church is not a building, it is a collection of people who are children of God. Look in the book of Acts and see how they did it. You need to be grounded in the family of God to be able to go out there as an effective witness of Christ
I was attending a church for 8 months and I spoke to someone in the church about becoming a member. They sat me down with the pastor, who told me that I had to sign an application and I needed references from my previous pastors I used to attend. Then, I would have to be interviewed by the leader of the woman's group to see if I was qualified to be a member of the church. I also requested to have a prayer group in my home. The person in charge of that told me they had other people more important than me that needed the home prayer group. Never again had I stepped in that church again nor recommended anyone to go there. They were a joke, rude and disrespectful, not humbled at all.
I just left the church where I was born again, not out of church hurt, but for they were cult-like. I was an infant in the Spirit, but I felt there was something wrong, but I remained there. I had a sense that the Pastor, and leadership were crossing certain boundaries, but I overlooked it because I didn't wanted to seem rebelious. The moment I was told by a "mentor" that I have to change careers because I was going to get lost in it, I bolted out of there; I work in TV/Film production by the way. The whole experience was sad and unfortunate. However, that didn't deter me from continuing my walk with the Lord. That made me seek Him more with a new refreshed intensity, but I still have no church to go to.

In your prayers to God, ask Him to tell you where to go: the enemy desires that God's people become isolated. I also was part of a church with 90% of the red flags shared in this video. When I started seeing these red flags, I had doubts about continuing to be a member of the church. One day, the Pastor when preaching his sermon, told a story of a member who left the church, and is now suffering, and how he is begging on the street, and has been afflicted by diseases. And his summary of the story of the story was that members should never think of leaving his Church, because that’s where God wants them to be planted. That’s the point I knew I had to leave the church.

I've been hurt by "the church" many times and got to a place where I was fearful of church people. Holy Spirit impressed upon my heart that I must forgive for not everyone in the church hurt me, just a few. We are a body and each member needs all the other members to be a whole, healthy body. I'm praying I can receive this WHOLE ENTIRE WORD. After ten years, I am still dealing with the guilt of being in a church like THIS. ALL OF IT. I love God. ❤ Set me free, totally, completely, Lord. Exactly all of the above plus… -told not to read spiritual books without pastors permission - rebuked and corrected by name in front of other members even from the pulpit. - anyone who left was shunned and the pastors said they would be cursed and the pastors said it as if they were happy/excited about he curse I’m so glad we got out of there! It took many years to recover from the trauma.
I was saved in 2004 , I’ve only had one church where I’ve been taught to love God, love the Word and love serving Christ !love prayer , love His bride throughout the world !!! I’m so thankful to God for my church family!!!

Well honestly the best way to find out if it's a cult is what the church worships. Money or God? And also the way the leaders eyes look. Eyes are the window of the soul. I can literally tell if someone is off by seeing the eyes. And also how you feel after church. Good or confused? If it's confused it's cause your subconscious is adding up things.
I used to attend 3 different Pentecostal churches with my grandma, one said you can’t work sundays and Thursday during church hours , sec one a family member spread rumors about me and why I’m not worthy of god. I now attend a great church who are so accepting and willing to help people get closer toGod, and mentor but not control

We went to a Fundamental Baptist Church, and it fit all the descriptions you gave. Obviously we left, but not without the ring leader pastor threatening us, rebuking us, allowing others in that church to slander us and say all kinds of false accusations. Scary stuff!
I could have written your post. My wife and I went through that in the late 80’s. The church was small and most sermons had a personal attacks against certain individuals. We were there for 2 years. After we left, the former pastor paid a visit to our new pastor and slandered us. We received numerous phone calls and items in the mail trying to get us to return to the previous church. We were threaten with “disclipine” if we contacted any of the previous church members. The previous pastor was finally fired. He moved back to North Carolina area and became the pastor of another independent fundamental Baptist church.
@racebannon96 We got threatening letters in the mail also. They said we were being disobedient to God, and every letter we got was signed by the pastor and his 2 elders. The first letter we ever got was sent as certified mail, whatever that was supposed to do. We happened to see that pastor at our local donut shop, and we didn't say a word to him, but my husband observed that the guy was extremely uncomfortable. I think he knew he was in the wrong for all he did to us. Maybe he will repent one day.

I was once in that kind of church, it's so hard to get out because they'll tell you that once you leave you get cursed or you are rebellious. When I left they got angry and labeled me as rebellious to the point i condemned mysf but Thankfully God take me out in that church and lead me to his right genuine peoe who helped me be enlightened and be healed.
I LOVE THE CHURCH AND JESUS CHRIST!! I was raised Catholic my whole life until I was 16 and my papa(who was my best friend and he was catholic) randomly had a heart attack on a business trip. So I blamed God because he love the church so much and was very active in the church so I left the church completely. When I was 23 I was invited to a protagonist church and when I wen I ended up at the altar sobbing. I got very sick and ended up going into cardiac arrest 9 times in 32 hours and I was without oxygen for 14 minutes. I had a 1% chance of coming back. I woke up 3 weeks later. I have brain damage so I was in rehab for 5 weeks. I was the first person to survive that. My case number is in the cardiac journal of medicine I ended up not being able to go to church for a while and by the time I came back it started to become less and less. And then Covid hit and I ended it all together. 5 weeks ago I was working out and I heard the song “Praise You Anywhere and I dropped on my knees and started crying and praying for forgiveness and I was at church 2 days later and I will never leave again!! I’m so glad for this video. I had a religious cult experience. I prayed for Help and someone showed up from that Church. I thought surely it was from God!! They taught me the Bible and that’s what I wanted to learn But they didn’t have the Spirit…. God Allowed it to be apart of my journey And it was very very hard and my life as a Christian is still very hard. All I want is to Heal. That was the church I had been a member. They wanted to control me everything. I had to give them my time 99%. I left that church and they blamed me, wanted to make me feel guilty. It was very hard but I felt happy to make that decision.

I became a partner in May and have been on a David Diga Hernandez marathon… I am so blessed and receiving so much revelation the past few days. I asked my current church if they would be open to hosting a revival as an alternative to people who don't want to celebrate Halloween and they said, "They would not be interested because they are big advocates for families enjoying their traditions, and encourage them to observe Halloween with their families" Their words exactly.. My thoughts....What about the ones who don't want to celebrate such a holiday, and want a healthy alternative that helps them feel even closer to GOD? Something like this could save some unbelievers just because they walked by the door and felt compelled to walk in the church like what happened to me years ago when I felt the Holy Spirit in a bigger way than I ever had.

I was involved in a church that meets every one of these signs, we tried to change from the inside but they wouldn't listen. It was hard to admit we were involved with a cult but that is what it was.

This is an accurate description of a church I was a member of 10 years ago. The *Body of Christ* needs discernment between when this really happens and someone gossipping of church because it is *incredibly difficult* to get out of a church like this. We were told "we don't need to speak to our father, mother, sister, brother, aunt, uncle" and being disassociated from our friends especially after leaving the church. Many need healing that other pastors, prophets don't give because they can't recognize the *cry for help* after losing an entire support system if you do leave the church. Members who *honor* the pastor are overworked at the expense of their own personal walk with God and are not allowed to bring up scriptures contrasting the pastor preaches, and Christian books and personal decisions are guided by the pastor. God showed me many years this was *sin* called *idolatry* and Holy Spirit was grieved. May God *heal, restore* according to HIS will in Jesus' Name!
In the church group that I have been a member since I was 29 and now 73 much of what you said hit me right between the eyes. If you leave for Any reason you are Backslid. The pastor always had money for vacations but the saints never did and yes we had to get permission If we had the money to go. This "pastor" told me a very hurtful lie that changed my entire walk with Jesus. But the straw that broke the camels back was when we were pastoring in a new state and a couple that were close friends with us came to visit for a couple of days. They had always been financially good shape and while there visiting they gave us a nice love offering $500. It was indeed a huge blessing to our family. Enough said, or at least that's what I thought. We found out later when they got back home and told their pastor, our previous pastor, about the gift he went through the roof. They left and said we now know what he is all about!! I have always scrolled past anything with the word "cult" in it, but this one was a real eye opener. Thanks!!
When you have a spiritual talk with someone else in the church and tell about a vision and instruction that you have got from the Lord and their first response is : “Have you talked with pastor so and so about that. It is very important that you do that.”
My husband also have instruction about our church concerning unity but I urged him to submitt first to the pastor bec. It's necessary in my own opinion but he keep telling me why God give him instruction not to the pastor and I think something is happening our co members lift already the church and few of us had left.
I was in a cult in the 80's and everything you said hit perfectly. We were also told how to dress. Women were required to wear dresses and not cut their hair. Women were also to be in submission to men whether it was their husband or not. Of course, a wife had to be in complete submission to her husband no matter what. I once heard a pastor say that an abused woman should stay with her husband in case she might help get him saved. It was all about mind control, and it took multiple years for God to ultimately heal me from the affects.
aprilmiller6767 as a husband I concur with you my wife came from an associate pastor’s family of a large independent charismatic church, this particular “associate pastor and wife” was more out of the Church of Thyatira “including the prophetess Jezebel” who made their daughter, my wife, to be the lifelong family scapegoat of this occultic, narcissistic, and there are not enough disgusting words in the dictionary who tore her apart. My wife loved the Lord dearly all the days of her life. Godly lady, wife, and mother who went through he11. It was very confusing for me as her husband in dealing with this, who is right or wrong and as to when what took place, yeah I made grievous mistakes (whatever definition you want) in all this. Even after the Restraining Order against mother and grandmother, family kept intruding, stalking, breaking and entering, along with other forms of trauma until the day they each DIED OFF. We remained married 43 years until she passed on from the medical complications from all that trauma. She is now safe with Christ along with her Aunt. All the others are getting their “eternal rewards” downstairs.
BTW I’m still healing 2 years after she passed on. I’ve gone MGTOW not because of hatred towards women just the turmoil and gaslighting of it all is not worth ever seeking another relationship again compared to the drama free peace and quiet I now have. i love the church. I was once part of a religious organization with these exact same tactics. God is so good for getting me out of it. Now i have peace and i appreciate everything i have in life.😭♥️
Thank you for verbalizing this. Everything you have spoken I have experienced for many years at the church I attended. Finally left a year ago and found another church. Still healing. But I love The Lord Jesus Christ and I love His church.
I believe that’s exactly what I went through but I am not giving up I am looking for a new church and now have learned for myself what sins to look for I’m not perfect but through Christ I will be better so I don’t judge what I went through everything is for a reason God put me there and now he is taking me else where.

Oh my! EVERY single sign aligns with the last ministry I was in for 3 yrs, and by the Holy Spirit’s warning, left over a year ago. Now, I’m in a much healthier church home environment that I love and am so thankful for 😭 despite all of that, I still love the church ♥️
I got a letter from the minister of a Calvary Chapel Church telling me God told him we were supposed to be together! I was married and so was he. The pain of It about ruined our family and broke up the church. I still have the letter and card he gave me. My husband keeps it in his files. When reported to their corporate they slapped him on the hand and continued to let him preach. My guess is I wasn’t his only victim. I am thankful I knew God and it was a lie from the pit of hell. I gave the letter to my husband who confronted him. Obviously we left the church but it caused trauma still unresolved to this day 15 yrs later. Hard to trust.
Thank you so much for this. The church I have been attending for 1 1/2 yrs now has been "lacking" in certain areas. Most notable of which is the departure from the preaching of CHRIST and him crucified and more of the power and glory and the"year of breakout" and "opening businesses" and such. I find this video and confirm that this church checks Every. Single. Box. As a result, I got my running shoes on. Bro. I was a member of a church that did all this and so much more. People would call us the Sisselits, i.e. belonging and worshipping the pastor. We were not allowed to miss church, go on vacation, or attend functions without his permission. We were told how to dress, what colors to wear, lond-sleeve dhirts only, how to style our hair, no make-up, jewelry, just everything. He even told my daughter to straighten my 2 yo grandson's hair because he didn't like curls on a boy. He wanted to sell the church to buy a bigger building but wouldn't make his books available to show revenue. He made the church pay off the church, buy three additional buildings, and sold one to his son. Only his grandson was allowed to go to running start, and everyone else was discouraged. They have a "Christian school, with "monitors" to oversee the children who learn through self-pace studies. He would chastise the children before consulting with parents. Two of the monitors had s3xual contact with students. In one case, the boy was sent away. In the other, the woman was suspended for 6 months. Nobody called the authorities. I have this via hearsay, so I can't take any action myself. I left this church in 2009. My husband continued to go for a while. He attempted to turn my children against me. 2 out of three refused. The church shunned me but then would love-bomb me when I attended a function for my children. My husband left when our last one graduated. My daughter's had to get his permission before they married someone in the church. 2 out of the 3 left as well, along with their spouses. They, too, are shunned and sadly have turned away from Christ in their bitterness. We went to my grandaughter's dedication last Sunday, and the pastor praised my son-inlaws mother as having done a wonderful job raising her 3 boys in the church, implying my husband and I were horrible people. He tells his head-bouncer (for lack of a better word), what he wants for a birthday, church anniversary, and holidays. They will make church members sign pledges who are definitely enforced. I'm talking about new trucks and SUVs for him and his wife. If you don't pledge, you will lose platform access, such as being in the choir, playing instruments, etc. It didn't start that way, but within 8 years, it turned into a nightmare. Im so glad Yeshua opened my eyes and rescued me. I'm not in a church, but I love Him and live for Him. I am literally terrified of going to another church because I have lost trust in man. When I left the church that I was spiritually born into due to military orders, i wasn't allowed to remain in contact with anyone. The next church was also controlling. But nothing like the last one. I wanted so much to please Yeshua that I didn't see the sign. We are NOT saved by works, but by faith, through grace, which is the wonderful gift of our Savior. Sorry for the novel. I needed to share some of this trauma with my true brothers and sisters in Christ.

The permission one was so triggery for me, the leaders would encourage you to 'date' a specific person they deemed suited you. The leadership had problems and then they woukd be moved to a different church, we were told to give 10% of our earnings and questioned if we didnt and made to feel guilty and low. I left after some years, I got out, it disnt feel right. They would say they 'fell away' that their mind wasnt in it or they lacked faith. I got out. 20 years later I asked God for forgiveness and prayed from all of my heart, He came to my aid, and Has encouraged me ever since, My main thing now is that I dont feel there is a right church yet out there physically for me, and thats fine as i have my online community like here for now, ita hard for me to go to an actual church again, me and Jesus are working together on this and it will take time, it may or may not hapoen but this I know, my heart is in the right place, i have community spirit here, i learn, i grow confident in The holy spirit and I pray to God. There are No Scriptures which teach that - because in the OT it teaches that there were people who looked "Forward" to the cross and the coming of the Messiah (Jesus Christ) and they were "Saved" based on their faith in that. In the NT - the Scriptures teach that one is "Saved" by Faith in Jesus Christ. The Scriptures plainly teach that "Believers" from Old Testament times and "Believers" in New Testament times who believe in the Messiah (the Lord Jesus Christ) are Saved. Unfortunately a spiritual guide and good friend of mine has gotten sucked in by an organization like this and I was almost sucked in too. When I met him he was a man who was pure in heart and wanting to serve the Lord. As time went on he got more erratic and controlling and I finally had to break ties with him. Guard your hearts folks!

just because i had mentored a friend just after salvation and baptized him, i showed my pastor the video and he called a meeting with witnesses to shame me and say that it was like i came into his house and stole his food from his fridge and talked to his children behind his back with the door closed in his house. like my gosh i didnt know baptizing someone was a sin and needed shaming. and yes 100% of these signs are in my church.

One cult tactic I've learned from an online ministry is when a pastor sends in a resume either not clearly stating what they believe or doctrines to affirm or just lie about what they believe in or what doctrines they affirm so they can win the position of pastor of that church, then they'll cultivate the congregations trust and loyalty over a number of years while subverting what the congregation believes in by slowly cramming their own theology in the scriptures and doing doctrinal gymnastics. One example is Calvinists infiltrating Baptist churches and deceiving the congregation into affirming Calvinist doctrines and rejecting Baptist doctrines over a span of years.

Being felt like the black sheep for missing any services, not able to visit other churches or go to other gatherings without permission, always having to ask permission to do anything, feeling like we’re not worthy enough unless we sacrifice long hours and are going above and beyond for the ministry. Not prioritizing our kids or family time but ministry always has to be first. The logo is if we take care of the ministry, God will take care of our homes, please tell me is that biblical? Constant rebuke or called rebellious if we question authority. A lot of false prophesy and promises that do not always come to pass, feeling like this particular church is the only good church and the rest are deceived, preparing for a harvest that isn’t coming because no one does any type of outreaching or giving back to the community so we have an expectation that is not real because we have not labored in any way in the streets or took care of the widows or feed homeless. Jesus is talked about but his grace is not sufficient, unless we live by the law and not the focus, mountain mandates and bringing heaven down and doctrines that don’t make sense, No salvation calls, consisting calling out other ministries, when corrupt leaders are in authority and we bring up our concerns, nothing is done, control and constant manipulation. I think what breaks my heart the most is all the children who are involved with their parents spending hours and hours in this cult never get to see anything outside of a church wall, just ministry and that’s it.

But some don’t teach the truth and they teach that by good church attendance you’ll be saved. Or by serving in a church you’ll be saved. We aren’t saved by works but by Gods grace in Jesus and nothing more. Always Remember we are the church because God spirit is now in us. We take the church wherever we go. For where 2 or 3 are gather in Jesus name there His presence is with Us. “Mathew 18:20” My home is my church. You grow more spiritually when you are alone in God’s presence. My Family is my church. I always talk about God to them. My Job is my church. I help those around me who need help and show Jesus to them. The church building I go to when I can. Is also my church and second family and I go there more for fellowship and to worship God. Hope that helps.

The church is not a building, it is a collection of people who are children of God.
Look in the book of Acts and see how they did it. You need to be grounded in the family of God to be able to go out there as an effective witness of Christ

I was attending a church for 8 months and I spoke to someone in the church about becoming a member. They sat me down with the pastor, who told me that I had to sign an application and I needed references from my previous pastors I used to attend. Then, I would have to be interviewed by the leader of the woman's group to see if I was qualified to be a member of the church. I also requested to have a prayer group in my home. The person in charge of that told me they had other people more important than me that needed the home prayer group. Never again had I stepped in that church again nor recommended anyone to go there. They were a joke, rude and disrespectful, not humbled at all.
That church needs a ton of prayer !

Ohh sorry, but also We need to hear the other side of the story too.
I just left the church where I was born again, not out of church hurt, but for they were cult-like. I was an infant in the Spirit, but I felt there was something wrong, but I remained there. I had a sense that the Pastor, and leadership were crossing certain boundaries, but I overlooked it because I didn't wanted to seem rebelious. The moment I was told by a "mentor" that I have to change careers because I was going to get lost in it, I bolted out of there; I work in TV/Film production by the way. The whole experience was sad and unfortunate. However, that didn't deter me from continuing my walk with the Lord. That made me seek Him more with a new refreshed intensity, but I still have no church to go to.
God will reward wen u seek diligently.

I also was part of a church with 90% of the red flags shared in this video.
When I started seeing these red flags, I had doubts about continuing to be a member of the church. One day, the Pastor when preaching his sermon, told a story of a member who left the church, and is now suffering, and how he is begging on the street, and has been afflicted by diseases.
And his summary of the story of the story was that members should never think of leaving his Church, because that’s where God wants them to be planted. That’s the point I knew I had to leave the church.

I'm praying I can receive this WHOLE ENTIRE WORD. After ten years, I am still dealing with the guilt of being in a church like THIS. ALL OF IT. I love God. ❤ Set me free, totally, completely, Lord. Heal ME. I'm 33. I joined at 19, learned a lot. It set a foundation for me, taught me to seek God. I was afraid for YEARS and still am to seek God completely and totally after leaving after all this time. 😢 Pray for me.

Well honestly the best way to find out if it's a cult is what the church worships. Money or God? And also the way the leaders eyes look. Eyes are the window of the soul. I can literally tell if someone is off by seeing the eyes. And also how you feel after church. Good or confused? If it's confused it's cause your subconscious is adding up things.
I used to attend 3 different Pentecostal churches with my grandma, one said you can’t work sundays and Thursday during church hours , sec one a family member spread rumors about me and why I’m not worthy of god. I now attend a great church who are so accepting and willing to help people get closer toGod, and mentor but not control

I left a church after being shunned over a doctrinal issue. Never looked back. Went back to a liturgical church and don’t regret it.
We went to a Fundamental Baptist Church, and it fit all the descriptions you gave. Obviously we left, but not without the ring leader pastor threatening us, rebuking us, allowing others in that church to slander us and say all kinds of false accusations. Scary stuff!
I could have written your post. My wife and I went through that in the late 80’s. The church was small and most sermons had a personal attacks against certain individuals. We were there for 2 years. After we left, the former pastor paid a visit to our new pastor and slandered us. We received numerous phone calls and items in the mail trying to get us to return to the previous church. We were threaten with “disclipine” if we contacted any of the previous church members. The previous pastor was finally fired. He moved back to North Carolina area and became the pastor of another independent fundamental Baptist church.
@racebannon96 We got threatening letters in the mail also. They said we were being disobedient to God, and every letter we got was signed by the pastor and his 2 elders. The first letter we ever got was sent as certified mail, whatever that was supposed to do. We happened to see that pastor at our local donut shop, and we didn't say a word to him, but my husband observed that the guy was extremely uncomfortable. I think he knew he was in the wrong for all he did to us. Maybe he will repent one day.
scary stuff indeed...someone once told me that one thing he would encounter regularly as a traveling fill-in worship leader is the issue of "control"...ultimately, this is one of the biggest issues with fallen human beings...
I was once in that kind of church, it's so hard to get out because they'll tell you that once you leave you get cursed or you are rebellious. When I left they got angry and labeled me as rebellious to the point i condemned mysf but Thankfully God take me out in that church and lead me to his right genuine peoe who helped me be enlightened and be healed.
I can absolutely say I love my church. There welcoming no pressure just love all love from all members. The leaders encourage you in Christ.

I was raised Catholic my whole life until I was 16 and my papa(who was my best friend and he was catholic) randomly had a heart attack on a business trip. So I blamed God because he love the church so much and was very active in the church so I left the church completely.
When I was 23 I was invited to a protagonist church and when I wen I ended up at the altar sobbing.
I got very sick and ended up going into cardiac arrest 9 times in 32 hours and I was without oxygen for 14 minutes. I had a 1% chance of coming back. I woke up 3 weeks later. I have brain damage so I was in rehab for 5 weeks.
I was the first person to survive that. My case number is in the cardiac journal of medicine
I ended up not being able to go to church for a while and by the time I came back it started to become less and less. And then Covid hit and I ended it all together.
5 weeks ago I was working out and I heard the song “Praise You Anywhere and I dropped on my knees and started crying and praying for forgiveness and I was at church 2 days later and I will never leave again!!

I’m so glad for this video. I had a religious cult experience. I prayed for Help and someone showed up from that Church. I thought surely it was from God!! They taught me the Bible and that’s what I wanted to learn

That was the church I had been a member. They wanted to control me everything. I had to give them my time 99%. I left that church and they blamed me, wanted to make me feel guilty. It was very hard but I felt happy to make that decision.

I just listened to one of them twice today.. so so powerful.. the one called “How to Receive the Power of The Holy Spirit” from a week ago. Can’t wait for the CA encounter service on 7/31. I asked my current church if they would be open to hosting a revival as an alternative to people who don't want to celebrate Halloween and they said, "They would not be interested because they are big advocates for families enjoying their traditions, and encourage them to observe Halloween with their families" Their words exactly.. My thoughts....What about the ones who don't want to celebrate such a holiday, and want a healthy alternative that helps them feel even closer to GOD? Something like this could save some unbelievers just because they walked by the door and felt compelled to walk in the church like what happened to me years ago when I felt the Holy Spirit in a bigger way than I ever had.

This is an accurate description of a church I was a member of 10 years ago. The *Body of Christ* needs discernment between when this really happens and someone gossipping of church because it is *incredibly difficult* to get out of a church like this. We were told "we don't need to speak to our father, mother, sister, brother, aunt, uncle" and being disassociated from our friends especially after leaving the church. Many need healing that other pastors, prophets don't give because they can't recognize the *cry for help* after losing an entire support system if you do leave the church. Members who *honor* the pastor are overworked at the expense of their own personal walk with God and are not allowed to bring up scriptures contrasting the pastor preaches, and Christian books and personal decisions are guided by the pastor. God showed me many years this was *sin* called *idolatry* and Holy Spirit was grieved. May God *heal, restore* according to HIS will in Jesus' Name!
In the church group that I have been a member since I was 29 and now 73 much of what you said hit me right between the eyes. If you leave for Any reason you are Backslid. The pastor always had money for vacations but the saints never did and yes we had to get permission If we had the money to go. This "pastor" told me a very hurtful lie that changed my entire walk with Jesus. But the straw that broke the camels back was when we were pastoring in a new state and a couple that were close friends with us came to visit for a couple of days. They had always been financially good shape and while there visiting they gave us a nice love offering $500. It was indeed a huge blessing to our family. Enough said, or at least that's what I thought. We found out later when they got back home and told their pastor, our previous pastor, about the gift he went through the roof. They left and said we now know what he is all about!!

When you have a spiritual talk with someone else in the church and tell about a vision and instruction that you have got from the Lord and their first response is : “Have you talked with pastor so and so about that. It is very important that you do that.”
My husband also have instruction about our church concerning unity but I urged him to submitt first to the pastor bec. It's necessary in my own opinion but he keep telling me why God give him instruction not to the pastor and I think something is happening our co members lift already the church and few of us had left.
I was in a cult in the 80's and everything you said hit perfectly. We were also told how to dress. Women were required to wear dresses and not cut their hair. Women were also to be in submission to men whether it was their husband or not. Of course, a wife had to be in complete submission to her husband no matter what. I once heard a pastor say that an abused woman should stay with her husband in case she might help get him saved. It was all about mind control, and it took multiple years for God to ultimately heal me from the affects.
aprilmiller6767 as a husband I concur with you my wife came from an associate pastor’s family of a large independent charismatic church, this particular “associate pastor and wife” was more out of the Church of Thyatira “including the prophetess Jezebel” who made their daughter, my wife, to be the lifelong family scapegoat of this occultic, narcissistic, and there are not enough disgusting words in the dictionary who tore her apart. My wife loved the Lord dearly all the days of her life. Godly lady, wife, and mother who went through he11. It was very confusing for me as her husband in dealing with this, who is right or wrong and as to when what took place, yeah I made grievous mistakes (whatever definition you want) in all this. Even after the Restraining Order against mother and grandmother, family kept intruding, stalking, breaking and entering, along with other forms of trauma until the day they each DIED OFF.
We remained married 43 years until she passed on from the medical complications from all that trauma. She is now safe with Christ along with her Aunt. All the others are getting their “eternal rewards” downstairs.
BTW I’m still healing 2 years after she passed on. I’ve gone MGTOW not because of hatred towards women just the turmoil and gaslighting of it all is not worth ever seeking another relationship again compared to the drama free peace and quiet I now have.

This is a very important video. I pray it gets out to every believer. I went thru this in two different churches, it took years for me to realize it was cult behavior. Those two churches are still functioning to this day. It took me years to heal and have a healthy relation with God .

Oh my! EVERY single sign aligns with the last ministry I was in for 3 yrs, and by the Holy Spirit’s warning, left over a year ago. Now, I’m in a much healthier church home environment that I love and am so thankful for 😭 despite all of that, I still love the church ♥️

I got a letter from the minister of a Calvary Chapel Church telling me God told him we were supposed to be together! I was married and so was he. The pain of It about ruined our family and broke up the church. I still have the letter and card he gave me. My husband keeps it in his files. When reported to their corporate they slapped him on the hand and continued to let him preach. My guess is I wasn’t his only victim.
I am thankful I knew God and it was a lie from the pit of hell. I gave the letter to my husband who confronted him. Obviously we left the church but it caused trauma still unresolved to this day 15 yrs later. Hard to trust.

Thank you so much for this. The church I have been attending for 1 1/2 yrs now has been "lacking" in certain areas. Most notable of which is the departure from the preaching of CHRIST and him crucified and more of the power and glory and the"year of breakout" and "opening businesses" and such. I find this video and confirm that this church checks Every. Single. Box. As a result, I got my running shoes on.

I was a member of a church that did all this and so much more. People would call us the Sisselits, i.e. belonging and worshipping the pastor. We were not allowed to miss church, go on vacation, or attend functions without his permission. We were told how to dress, what colors to wear, lond-sleeve dhirts only, how to style our hair, no make-up, jewelry, just everything. He even told my daughter to straighten my 2 yo grandson's hair because he didn't like curls on a boy. He wanted to sell the church to buy a bigger building but wouldn't make his books available to show revenue. He made the church pay off the church, buy three additional buildings, and sold one to his son. Only his grandson was allowed to go to running start, and everyone else was discouraged. They have a "Christian school, with "monitors" to oversee the children who learn through self-pace studies. He would chastise the children before consulting with parents. Two of the monitors had s3xual contact with students. In one case, the boy was sent away. In the other, the woman was suspended for 6 months. Nobody called the authorities. I have this via hearsay, so I can't take any action myself. I left this church in 2009. My husband continued to go for a while. He attempted to turn my children against me. 2 out of three refused. The church shunned me but then would love-bomb me when I attended a function for my children. My husband left when our last one graduated. My daughter's had to get his permission before they married someone in the church. 2 out of the 3 left as well, along with their spouses. They, too, are shunned and sadly have turned away from Christ in their bitterness. We went to my grandaughter's dedication last Sunday, and the pastor praised my son-inlaws mother as having done a wonderful job raising her 3 boys in the church, implying my husband and I were horrible people. He tells his head-bouncer (for lack of a better word), what he wants for a birthday, church anniversary, and holidays. They will make church members sign pledges who are definitely enforced. I'm talking about new trucks and SUVs for him and his wife. If you don't pledge, you will lose platform access, such as being in the choir, playing instruments, etc. It didn't start that way, but within 8 years, it turned into a nightmare. Im so glad Yeshua opened my eyes and rescued me. I'm not in a church, but I love Him and live for Him. I am literally terrified of going to another church because I have lost trust in man. When I left the church that I was spiritually born into due to military orders, i wasn't allowed to remain in contact with anyone. The next church was also controlling. But nothing like the last one. I wanted so much to please Yeshua that I didn't see the sign. We are NOT saved by works, but by faith, through grace, which is the wonderful gift of our Savior. Sorry for the novel. I needed to share some of this trauma with my true brothers and sisters in Christ.

I grew up In a cult. My parents worked for a "church" that did all of this to the most extreme. Please pray for people stuck in these cults. It is not God's will I believe it is spiritual abuse. Its been 13 years, i thank God for the courage to leave, never felt at peace like this before, glory to God
The permission one was so triggery for me, the leaders would encourage you to 'date' a specific person they deemed suited you. The leadership had problems and then they woukd be moved to a different church, we were told to give 10% of our earnings and questioned if we didnt and made to feel guilty and low. I left after some years, I got out, it disnt feel right. They would say they 'fell away' that their mind wasnt in it or they lacked faith. I got out.
20 years later I asked God for forgiveness and prayed from all of my heart, He came to my aid, and Has encouraged me ever since,
My main thing now is that I dont feel there is a right church yet out there physically for me, and thats fine as i have my online community like here for now, ita hard for me to go to an actual church again, me and Jesus are working together on this and it will take time, it may or may not hapoen but this I know, my heart is in the right place, i have community spirit here, i learn, i grow confident in The holy spirit and I pray to God.

In the NT Book of Revelation, Jesus taught that there would be believers from every tribe, every nation and every language who have the testimony and faith of Jesus Christ.
Also where in the Holy Bible does it teach about believers being saved only "Since The Cross" ? You're wrong here!
There are No Scriptures which teach that - because in the OT it teaches that there were people who looked "Forward" to the cross and the coming of the Messiah (Jesus Christ) and they were "Saved" based on their faith in that.
In the NT - the Scriptures teach that one is "Saved" by Faith in Jesus Christ.
The Scriptures plainly teach that "Believers" from Old Testament times and "Believers" in New Testament times who believe in the Messiah (the Lord Jesus Christ) are Saved.
Go study the Biblical Scriptures. Old Testament believers looked "Forward" to the coming of the Saviour, and we in the New Testament age look "back" to the Saviour.

Those who do NOT end up in the lake of fire.
The CHURCH is composed of saved people ONLY regardless of their point of origin and that is the end of it.

I went through this what you are speaking about. It was not until I left that I could see all of that. The rebelous accusations weakened my faith and left me backsliden for years among other afflictions from attackers from the same caliber mind accusers. I have to pray a lot. I still love the church.

Unfortunately a spiritual guide and good friend of mine has gotten sucked in by an organization like this and I was almost sucked in too. When I met him he was a man who was pure in heart and wanting to serve the Lord. As time went on he got more erratic and controlling and I finally had to break ties with him. Guard your hearts folks!

just because i had mentored a friend just after salvation and baptized him, i showed my pastor the video and he called a meeting with witnesses to shame me and say that it was like i came into his house and stole his food from his fridge and talked to his children behind his back with the door closed in his house. like my gosh i didnt know baptizing someone was a sin and needed shaming. and yes 100% of these signs are in my church.
