I learned that lesson decades ago -- not to let your cat outside unsupervised. My first cat followed me home from school when I was about 10-12 yrs old. My father did not want it in our home. I’m not going to tell you what happened to that cat that some boys did. I had PTSD from it. - probably still do. My father was also very upset about it. He then let me take in another cat that we did not know was pregnant and had 4 kittens. We both were still so traumatized by that first cat that he wanted to keep the kittens which we did and they lived a very happy long life. That incident with my first cat influenced him to take in a few stray cats over the years/decades actually -- that presented themselves to him. He built a fenced in yard, and house that they could go in which was air conditioned in summer and heated in winter. Little beds for them. It was a very nice set up for them. That incident with my first cat triggered something in me that for the rest of my life -- I would never ignore a stray cat and took them home. Now it is decades later from that 1st cat. I recently had to have 2 old cats put to sleep because of kidney problems and I have 1 precious kitty which may probably be my last because of my own chronic illness, lack of mobility and chronic pain. One thing I did master when I lived in a few apartments before buying a condo -- was hiding cats from landlords. I always seem to have 3 cats which was 2 over the limit. I was never looking for a kitty. They always found me. Sorry, I’ve gone on too long.
I feel so sorry for this man having to watch his beloved cat be violently mauled. He won't be able to shake that image from his mind for a very long time. 😞

The question is, are they owned or stray dogs. Pitbulls can be friendly and loving dogs, but they are pure muscle. Careless Humans are always at fault for not training their dogs correctly, they are the reason why certain dogs are not to trusted to roam the street. As for the people who whines about cats killing wildlife creatures, I have to remind them: Who Left the Cats out alone in the world in first place, turning them into stray ones and feral ones? Then I also remind them: Humans kill more wildlife creatures than cats. Remember Dodo birds? Remember the certain canines? Rhinos? Pigeons? Doves? How many they are now, due to humans' actions? How many invasive species they brought then leaving them alone in the wild places, reducing native species's numbers? How many times did humans drove wildlife creatures out of their habitats, making them homeless and hungry enough to go near human settlements when they are in risk of being shot to death? How many times did humans shot big wildlife creatures for fun and trophy? How many times did they set forest and bushes on fire, killing more animals? When there are dog attacks or cat attacks, you have to remember the real fact is Humans always at fault for their actions in these situations like that.
Three dogs running around as a pack, well fed and let loose. The owners should be put in prison. @Novice User 1. I didn't say necessarily prison 2. nobody should let three dogs run loose that act like a pack and kill in a neighborhood. *If these dogs are willing to attack a cat they are also likely willing to attack a small dog, and potentially a child.* 3. Perhaps you don't value the life of a cat, but some consider them a member of their family. That alone should give them value... Their worth to your neighbor, and not their worth to yourself. cats and dogs also cost people a lot of money, outside of their emotional value to someone else which you should respect, people invest a lot of money into their pets often and it is in a sense theft as well as really hurting another person emotionally. It isn't about your value of the pet, but someone else's as well as the potential danger to other life. 4. I don't want to feel in fear walking in my own neighborhood, either, and these dogs would remove many if not most people's comfort that is due them in their own neighborhood... Comfort for themselves, their children or their pets. Lastly, if a person doesn't care about the financial or emotional harm they Inflict on others they should get a psych evaluation.

Ok

I wouldn't feel safe if I met them on the street and if I was walking a small animal I think they especially would be in danger. This is evil. The people who own them should be hunted down and the book should be thrown at them.
@Novice User
1. I didn't say necessarily prison
2. nobody should let three dogs run loose that act like a pack and kill in a neighborhood. *If these dogs are willing to attack a cat they are also likely willing to attack a small dog, and potentially a child.*
Lastly, if a person doesn't care about the financial or emotional harm they Inflict on others they should get a psych evaluation.
forgot I said that, but probably... Not just for the cat's sake, but the fact that they have a pack of dogs that are let loose, period. It's very evil.
Same thing for the cats. At least dogs don't cause local wildlife to go extinct.
It should be outright illegal to own cats. Period.
@Novice User owners should be put in prison for being irresponsible and letting their dogs take lives.
@@SS-ko5fo it should not be illegal to own cats. They are a wonderful pet and not responsible for the decline in birds. T. If there is a fraction of cats outside now compared to years past that begs, that begs the question why. Have these few cats suddenly become superhero hunters, or could there be another cause? The blame rightfully belongs to companies like monsanto that mass spray extremely toxic chemicals (that Europe has banned) which leave dead birds and other wildlife at a mass scale in their periphery. Until we hold these people accountable I don't think anyone has a right to be shifting the blame. It sounds personal if you hate cats enough to say they should be illegal.
