This game mode is one of the best things that could happen in the HLL because of one reason - New Players! New players mean more cash for developers and better HLL development. I get it that core players are pissed off because skirmish isn't the real HLL but they also should calm down. Core players don't have to play this and more casual players don't have to play the main game mode but at the end of the day, more money will come for the core players content.
You’re very naive to think more developer profit equals “better development.” It will probably equal MORE development catered to casual players to keep those profits rolling.
Your original comment describes all of HLL these days. Inexperienced people are taking (sometimes intentionally) the leadership roles, sometimes refusing to learn, and it hurts all of us.
I like Skirmish but they made a mistake releasing it on the current maps. The fact it’s a King-Of-The-Hill/Team Deathmatch gamemode doesn’t fit well on the wide-open British maps. It should’ve been released on Stalingrad, Kharkov, Saint Marie or Carentan (urban combat maps).
I can agree. Skirmish mode is a target for the more casual players and they may have problems on the open maps where they may die just from the one random bullet. Urban maps would be more casual player-friendly.

The one thing about Skirmish is flanking and retaking mid point. I played a few full matches, not once did the Middle change hands. Once people get in the middle, and since people are condensed more in this mode, not hard to spot people, airheads, etc. w Map high tall hills and peaks, Tank and sniper, not easy flanking. Its not bad, only 30 mins which is nice. But i def prefer Skirmish on Driel and other maps over this map.
I've only played one game of skirmish on El Alamein and the point changed hands 3 times. It was a lot of fun. It's a new style of gameplay so it'll likely take us all time to work out the best strategies in the shortened game time.
Skirmish mode is trash for the most part from top to bottom. It’s a watered down version of warfare designed to cater to the worst of the worst and has attracted on AVERAGE the dumbest of the dumb. Scaling the map to a different (especially non round number) unit size - dumb. Giving the spawn locations a different name and awkward separation radius - dumb. Thinking you should cater to players who want a shorter game mode - dumb. Finally showing in map the capping grid sectors - smart. They could have been working on eliminating vehicle rubber banding. They could have been working on fixing the ridiculous Artillery meta. They could have been working on fixing whatever it is that’s keeping Xbox & PS5 players from consistently being unable to join on one another.
Hilarious how people think the devs doing one thing means they aren’t working on other things. The people redesigning these maps are not the same people working on coding which are not the same people working on the gameplay meta. It’s a team. They’re aware of the other issues with the game and they’ve said as much. Some things take more time than others.
@@Marty6804 all of the man power spent on this could have been spent on other things, that’s my point. I’m not saying I think they were ONLY working on this project alone while it was in development, just that it’s a waste of resources.

The proper nomenclature being .303 Lee Enfield No1 MkIII SMLE or .303 Lee Enfield No4 MkI SMLE. SMLE being the abbreviation for Short Magazine Lee Enfield. Calling them SMLE is the height of ignorance, please don't be that. Please just call them No1 and No4.
Forward positions markers are bugged to be only visible to the person. Please use outposts for your team/leaders. Command mentioned it but mono didn't even react
this game mode will be forgotten about in a few weeks, its inclusion suits a game console not a pc player base// clearly the console is the games leading platform now,
This game mode sucks, it really is CoD for 25 minutes. The only way to make this mode work is to do it based on time held. Otherwise, 95% of the match is meaningless - all that matters is the last couple minutes and getting the cap.

There is a lot of new players / inexperienced SL right now. Start one yourself or remind them.

Interesting because this map has been totally redesigned with a ton more cover. Even parts of Driel have added cover.
I still play both game modes but sometimes i don't have the hour and a half to commit to a match but can hop on and play a skirmish round

I think it's good but annoying it was released on only 2 maps.
I wish there were some skirmish only servers, they are just using it for seeding.

I’m a purist. I use a headshot bot and a wallhack. Map and game mode mean nothing to me.
