I'm so glad you said that 🤩 Many of us ladies don't have loads of money, and if I'm totally honest- I find it a little bit frustrating that it's so many expensive Skincare and Makeup here...I love Nadine, but it makes me feel low... I thank you for writing this 🌻I hope that Nadine takes this to considering. I live in Norway and here it's very expensive to buy many of these products.
Finally I don't feel alone when it comes to this.
      I wish you a fabulous weekend ✨
      Best regards from Elisabeth, Norway♀️

Rosehip Oil and Cacay Oil contain antioxidants and I use them along with Timeless Vitamin C 20%. Thank you for the introduction to Garden of Wisdom, as I'm on a budget I will give them a look. Lucky you not photo - aging in 10 years - now that's inspiration to use antioxidants and look after your skin, along with SPF of course. x

Eleanor Byrne Will Rosehip Oil make you peel like retinol? I heard it was natures retinol which is why I’m asking. Also does it feel thick or heavy on the skin?

Help! Vit C/antioxidants/retinol/peptides......etc,etc,etc. i now have a dressing table groaning under the weight of all this stuff and no idea how to use it all. Presumably I shouldnt use Vit C and retinol products simultaneously at night time? I thought it was pointless to use antioxidants in the morning as they were destroyed by sunlight? See? Confused! Maybe I should mix the whole lot together in a bucket, slap it all on - and sit back with a nice glass of Merlot? (for the reservatrol, of course!) How do others 'out there' structure their routines please? Sending good wishes to all x

see my reply to Lucy Jones. I don't use Vit C and Retinoids (I use Retin A) together as they are very harsh/stripping together. I use C in the am and Retin A pm.
Evening i also use hylaluronic acid on top of Retin A, then an oil to seal in moisture (Retin A cause the peelies, oil seems to help). Oil is just a home made mix of olive, avocado and grapeseed.

Antioxidants: day time only (that's the purpose of them, fight free radicals). Vitamin C: day time only. Retinol/retin-a: night only. For resveratrol is better if you take it as a supplement, you would have to drink tons of wine every night to get a significant amount of it ;) hope that helps you!

I also use Vit C and CoQ10, but I usually use the brand Timeless or Skin Deva. They’re under $25. The Vit C is the l-ascorbic acid with E and Ferulic. And the CoQ10 has peptides and hyaluronic acid. I need to look into resveratrol tho.

I've been using antioxidants in my daily skincare ever since Estee Lauder released their first Daywear moisturiser - that's a long long time ago! These days I use the Timeless 20% C E Ferulic acid serum, Paula's Choice 10% Niacinamide booster (loaded with other antioxidants), NIOD's Survival 0 serum, folllowed by Estee Lauder's Daywear SPF50 lotion which is loaded with antioxidants! So lots and lots of antioxidants on my face every day he he :-D

I am not Nadine, clearly, but a have knowledge of formulation. Q10 usage percentage is 0,10%-0,20% that why you find it at the bottom of the list. people think that active ingredients must be in high concentration in a cosmetic but it is not always the case.

Sheryl McNeill I use the same and love it. I keep it in the fridge and one bottle has lasted me at least 6 months without turning color. I was told by a dermatologist to use it during the day. My big question is whether different antioxidants could be layered.

    • @donnaryan71
      @donnaryan71 6 лет назад +1

I do this, but I wait between layers. So, Vit C Ferrulic+E first, wait about10-20 mins, Niacinimide, (not an antioxidant I don't think, but it's the next lightest in texture), wait again (go do the dishes, feed the cat or something!), then COQ10, wait, then most important, sunscreen. Haven't tried resveratrol yet.

I started using Medik8 C-tetra a month ago and I already notice results!
However I have a question about dry/dehydrated flaky skin. How do you treat it the best?
I'm on a medication that "steals" my fluid and my skin is dehydrated, dry and quite flaky on the nose. In the morning I do a cold water rinse, then toner and BHA from PC. Then my vit C serum, Vichy Hyaluronic acid serum, Leegeehaam B5 ampoule, redness relief serum from PC and then I mix tamanu oil in my PC moisturiser with SPF 30. My evening routine is about the same except no BHA and vit C and I use micellar water as makeup remover and then a gentle cleanser with a cleansing cloth (as you've tought us ;) ). I use Aquaphor skin balm as the last step at night on my nose only, it helps with the flakyness but not 100%. So my question - is there anything I should change or add to get better results? And do the skin need to be moist before using hyaluronic acid?
I would be soooo happy if you took the time to answer this as I really trust your knowledge more than anyone elses! 💖

This is the third video I've watched on your channel after RUclips recommended one of them to me. And I've noticed you've brought up a somewhat misleading idea in all three videos I've watched - If a product doesn't smell of anything, it's fragrance free. As you probably know, fragrance free and scent free are two completely different concepts. It is possible to smell a cosmetic/skincare from its ingredients without having any added fragrance. On the other hand, the scent free effect is often achieved through adding extra ingredients to neutralise or mask the scent of the active ingredients during the manufacturing process. As long as the product has not got a lot of fragrance added to it, I wouldn't emphasise the importance of scent free. In fact, cosmetic companies will struggle to sell most of their products if they do nothing to remove the scent of a lot of the ingredients or find a way to make the same line of products carry the same scent.

I will need to try the Prevage serum. I’m trying desperately to find an alternative to my beloved $285.00 SkinMedica TNS Essential Serum, it’s amazing, with peptides, antioxidants and vitamins C but it’s breaking the bank. I go through a bottle every month.

Sunny W. Hi Sunny....Thankyou for mentioning this.SkinMedika is no longer available in Australia as the TGA(our version of the FDA)has problems with the ‘TNS Serum”.The reason of course is it’s made with human EDG factors...harvested from foreskin! The TGA feel that there’s not enough evidence yet about the long term use and possible links to cancer.Love your opinion on the TNS Serum. Is it THAT good?I can still get my hands on a bottle!
Needless to say,I’m cranky that ANY SkinMedica products will be banned from entering Australia!
I use the Retinol Complex .50 (not for much longer)and it’s great.

Eira Livingstone-Thomas Hello-I have read about the human growth factor /skin cancer debate. I deduced that there’s not enough evidence to support it so I keep slathering it on. ;) The foreskin thing is gross though but honestly I love the Serum THAT much! I would be extremely salty if our FDA banned it especially when they allow so many dangerous drugs.

I have heard from dermatologists that say antioxidants are highly unstable and are not effective in skin care. Can you address this from your experience and knowledge base? It would be helpful. Thank you.

DelTori She is a minimalist in skin care, beauty products, and even hair care. That’s fine if it works for her and I do believe she’s being sincere but I think she’s coming at it from her own opinions too. If a person uses a product and it works for them then it just does whether you have enough scientific data or not. Then there are other dermatologists who will tell you to try antioxidants under your sun screen so who knows. Also when people ask her questions in the comments some of her answers aren’t cute or funny, they are just rude. I don’t know if she means to come across that way but she does. Not long ago Colorscience (I think that’s the name of the company) sponsored her to do a video on that powder spf. It is a good idea for a product but it was expensive because there are cheaper ones out there. I bring this up because I’ve been watching her since the beginning and she would bring up how expensive a lot of products were when she would go into Ulta and CVS to talk about products that were on the shelf. I’m happy someone sponsored her but it was weird for me when it came to cost compared to how she would review other things. I say if something works for you then keep using it. Sunscreen is always a must but I don’t laugh at or fault someone using something that works for them.

You are right Kelly. I try to get a variety of information and then find the common denominator. Just like when I research a subject and then read every book on that subject I can find. The truth is usually the common denominator that runs throughout all resources. Just like when you watch someone and observe them over a period of months. Their pattern of behavior over a period of time is usually who they are.

So if we are putting anti-oxidants on our skin to stop the effect of oxidisation; why do people have "oxygen" facials? Isn't the point of anti-oxidants to stop the effect of oxygen?

I used the Timeless Vitamin C serum for ages, until I realised that it was causing major blackhead issues. Now I’m reluctant to try something else......is that “a thing’ with vitamin C? X

What is said to happen is that some anti-oxidants oxidate on your skin so that your skin doesn’t have to. That’s why the areas with oiliness/dirt accumulated combined with the antixoxidant will turn darker.
