  • It's hot in London right now - 30 degrees of humidity and heat and stickiness - so no one wants to slather on thick creams or oils so instead it's time to spray and serum your way to hydration with hyaluaronic acid. NOT a resurfacing acid but a moisture magnet for your skin that cools as it's applied, can dry and tighten or dry and plump, but both ways it gives a rush of water to the surface layers of skin (far better than drinking a pint of tap water ever can) ...
Here are my favourite hyaluronic acid serums, gels and sprays - they have saved my holiday skin (I am just back from a week away so sorry for not posting last week) ... and I love every one of them ...

Would love to see this same format about azelaic acid. I so enjoy that you do a range of products in all price points as well as the way you are able to give so much information and make it a joy to watch instead of a chore. Have heard amazing things about azelaic acid but would love to get your insight and product recommendations!

Hi Nadine, I am so blessed to find you. I love your videos and could watch and listen to you all day. I am a 73 year old South African. I have just got back from Saudi Arabia after 6 years and now I am back home. In Saudi I had so called blocked pores and the dermatolist there gave me later treatment and I feel she ruined my skin as it now looks 'pitted' if that makes sense.
I had acne as a teenager and have scars plus pigmentation. I would like your advice on skin care. I used Vit c before as it was easily available in Saudi but never used a retinal product what do you suggest.? I have heard of Paulis Choice but not tried it yet. Thankyou for all your sound advice and explaining everything so clearly. Edwina Lammerding

Nadine I wish you would consider to do a humidity vs desert in skin care because some of us who live in the desert some trades of Hyaluronic acid don't do any good in our environment .I think this would help people not to waste their money buying products that are not performing to their intent.

Hi Nadine! I am so happy to find you from a Pixiwoo video where they said they loved you...so if you can impress my favorite girls I HAD to look you up!
I am thrilled you explained HA...Joan Rivers used to tote that in her product line and a lot of women don't know how marvelous it is for aging skin. I'm 66 and have been ranting about the benefits to my 29 yr old daughter. I had picked up the Clinique Moisture Surge Intense Hydrating cream in the pink tub... LOVE IT....so we went to Ulta yesterday and I was telling my consultant how thrilled I am with the cream and she showed me the tall tube/bottle of serum that you mentioned today....every woman over the age of 40 who's skin is starting to sress should know about this.... I am loving your videos explaining products and benefits...keep up the great videos and I will share them to everyone. PS...no one believes I am my age!

you have made me a hyaluronic acid junkie. when I first started watching you, you talked about serums and hyaluronic acid was the first one that you talked about that caught my interest. so u got my first one and slathered it on, all over my face and watched as my fine lines plumped, my tear troughs become smaller and my skin become dewy, like a baby's skin. it was winter and my skin was flaking and so dry that it hurt. and lotions and cremes sat on top of the skin doing nothing to hydrate. after finding this miracle, I started looking for it in my skin care, in lotions and cremes, and my skin balanced itself out. I'm not overly dry or oily anymore. used with my retinol and vitamin c, I think my skin is better then it was years ago. and it really improved how my makeup, especially concealer sits under my eyes.

I wash my face, use a toner, then rose water. Then my hyaluronic acid. The serums I have are quite thin and clear. Then vitamin c or retinol, if at night, then moisturizer or oil. I have extremely dry skin

I really like REN Flash Hydro Boost, I adore to apply it before makeup. It should be worked into the skin with a bit of water but since I'm a bit extra, I use a hydrating mist.
The skin gets visibly plumped, and I'm not one to say this loosely. I also find The Ordinary Buffet to be a more hydrating (and feels better on the skin) than their hyaluronic acid.
    Just my two cents. :)

Hi Nadine, this was very informative. I still don't totally understand this product. It is in nearly everything I use, and same for many of us I think. By my reasoning, these would be different concentrations in different products, so we should all be plumped and without wrinkles shouldn't we? I just learned finally from you that h.a. pulls the moisture from the air, except that one you mentioned is different. Does that mean h.a. does not draw moisture from the water in the products we apply after h.a.?

I have a hard time remembering which order the serums, oils and face cream go on- this time I wrote it down! I purchased several of the ordinary products and really like them but my question is.. do I use retinoids 2% with lactic acid 5% and rose hip seed oil all together-on the same night ? Can you explain what the 100% plant derived Squalane is for and when should I use it?(also from the ordinary) I've been using it on my neck at night because I can't remember what it's for!!! Oh, I'm 51 with sun & chemo damaged skin🙄 upperlip lines...any suggestions?

Oh, my! This was so helpful. I also use mineral makeup on my mature skin but have struggled with my crepey under-eye area and small retinol flaky spots. I've been using the NIOD Fractionated Eye Contour Concentrate to dab under my eyes after makeup application (in addition to its use in my skin-care routine) but didn't want to use it on other areas of my face (and, frankly, I didn't really want to use it after makeup, even on my under-eye area, as it's rather expensive). I ordered the DCL Hydra Boost before reaching the end of your video. I'm hoping I'll fall in love with it as my makeup finishing step.
I've been using The Ordinary 2% HA + B5, but have had some trouble with pilling. I've had my eye on the NIOD Multi Molecular Complex 2 and was happy to order after your review. I may use The Ordinary one just for my neck as I could stand a bit of the tightening effect there and won't be so worried about pilling.

What do you Think about the Paulas Choice hyloronic acid? I vary between that one and the ordinary - i like them both, but i wonder If i could just stick to the ordinary and save the money?🤔

    • @lol365
      @lol365 7 лет назад +3

I will say I prefer the texture Paula's Choice Hyaluronic Acid Booster to The Ordinary - it's a lot silkier and has a number of ceramides, panthenol and other hydrating ingredients in it, in comparison to The Ordinary which is straight up HA with some panthenol. I found The Ordinary to be stickier. That said, if the goal is hydration through HA and budget matters, The Ordinary is a good product and the price is incredible.

When using your retinol do you use a gentle wash and toner prior to that? do you put Ha prior to retinol?
And the days you do not use retinol do you use a wash am and PM w salicylic acid or gentle wash again and then use PC bha then use your serums? Bc I am trying to figure out which serum and products to use if I want anti aging but also deal with blemishes & congestion? Combo oily sensitive congested blemish prone skin here 🖐

Loved this video, My first venture in to serums is the oz naturals vitamin C but will definitely be looking at a couple dedicated hyaluronic products to step it up and improve the loose skin and fine lines around my eyes. Can you also recommend anything for pigmentation?! Unsure if it's a side effect from years of waxing but I have pigmentation change in my brows and more noticeably above my top lip. Is there anything I can do to help this breakdown myself or will it have to be a professional full on treatment?! (I ditched the waxing for threading last year). Thanks in advance x

Great video Nadine, I love that explain the science. Is there a way to tell which HA products will be super tightening like Dr Seburgh and the ordinary and which will be be really softening and plumping? Is it to do with the form the HA comes in?

Hi Nadine! This is embarrassing as I only just discovered you on Instagram and here on You Tube! I absolutely love all your videos and already changing my skincare routine. I have to say, sometimes get lost about ingredients and have a question about serum and what should I look for in it. So I'm using Hylouric Acid already followed by SPF Collagen moisturiser, what type of serum I should go for? I'm 39 with dry/combination skin. If serum have Hylouric Acid in it, should I avoid it in case it would be too much? Thank you in advance ❤ Aga

I sometimes experience 'peeling' or say my makeup rolls off when using hyaluronic do you know why this might be?
also, I see this chemical alcohol denat...what is this specifically? can it irritate sensitive skin?
    Thank you Nadine, you're great!!!!

Rebecca Unwin Hi, alcohol denant is a bad alcohol which dries out your skin, should avoid products with alcohol in them but there are some good alcohols too, but defo avoid alcohol denant products..

Hi Nadine. You didn't mention L'Oreal Paris Hydra Genius Moisturiser which you said was a dupe for the Clinique moisture surge in another video. I admit I prefer it to the Clinique one. Is the Clinique better though?

Sorry for commenting on so many of your videos, but I've literally just discovered you! In regards to Hyaluronic Acid, I'm currently using The Ordinary and am finding that it is balling up under any skincare I follow it with. I'd say I leave it on for about 20-30 minutes before applying the next step but I just can't seem to get it to work well with anything else. Should I be leaving it on for longer? Or would a thinner less sticky acid be a better approach? Please help! x

Hi Nadine. I love and appreciate all your videos! Question: when layering this product with other serums, do I go by the general rule of "thinner" (more watery) consistencies first, then layer up in order of consistency (so if the HA serum I choose is a bit more gel-like, I would layer it over the more watery products, like my vitamin c (DE) or Hylamide Sub Q)? Thanks for your advice (in advance)! Mel

I've tried a few serums, and have just tried the clinique moisture surge one in the video, but always find them tacky on my skin? Are there any that don't do this. I have quite dry skin and use the clinique dramatically different lotion, plus the new serum for lines that is inserted into the bottle. I really suffer with puffy eyes, unfortunately i am at work at 6.30am every day and a bad sleeper. Any help would be greatfully received. 44 years going on 94!!

I just recently started using Differin (night time use only) and absolutely love mixing it with my Estee Lauder Nighttime Serum and my Clinique Moisture Surge! I spend over 6 hours outdoors, any recommendation for Rosacea friendly hyaluronic acids that I can use during the day?
