Virtual Camera in Ecamm Live for Zoom, Teams and More

- Virtual Cam (or Virtual Webcam or Virtual Camera) allows you to send the output of Ecamm Live into many other Mac apps.
This will let you use all of the features of Ecamm Live (such as Green Screen, digital zoom, Screen Sharing, and overlays) in other apps that don't otherwise have those features.
Virtual Webcam will work even when you are not using Ecamm Live to broadcast or record.
In this Ecamm Live tutorial, Doc Rock will show you how to turn on Virtual Camera and how it can help you put some pep in those boring and mundane virtual conference meetings.

Why I can’t find anything about ecamm live with Google Meet ? No one is making a clear video about it… or is it because there’s nothing really there to make … incompatibility ? Working , not

I need to have some live Google Meet session where I need to have a main camera as well as an overhead rigged cam - was thinking to create some scenes and overlays for this two camera feeds in ecamm live which would need to load them further into google meet ?!? 🤔 is that possible? Will it work ? 😂🤷🏻♂️
Hi there!
Great question. You can use the virtual camera in Google meet the same as you can use it in Zoom (as long as you access Google Meet via Chrome). So, this tutorial should work perfectly for Google meet :)
Can I use these features when I join my works meetings, or do you have to be the one to start the meetings?
If you have Ecamm Live Pro, you can use all of Ecamm's features in Zoom without needing to be the one hosting the meeting (or other apps like MS Team, Google Meet, etc).
When you went live with the virtual camera into Zoom, your audio went out of synch with the video feed. How would you fix this? Started at 3:38 mark.
Hi G Williamson! Thanks for the comment. You can use the mic delay feature in Ecamm Live to solve this issue.

What is the resolution/quality of the image? Virtual camera via obs is very low
The resolution and quality of the image is actually something coming from Zoom and is dependent on your Zoom plan. The lower levels of Zoom provide a pretty low resolution. If you want to solve this, you can actually email Zoom's customer support and request 720p or 1080p. That'll correct the issue whether you're using OBS or Ecamm Live.
Doc Rock - I have been using NDI tool for my screen sharing in my scenes with background overlays, since you taught me.. It worked fine until last night, when I noticed, it's now showing both monitors when I use my scenes with background overlays to share my screen.
How do I fix my screen sharing so that it only shows my 2nd monitor and not both on my live broadcast.
FYI screen sharing works great if I am not using scenes with background overlays.

You didn't show it worked in Teams. The only reason I would pay for this is to be able to vertical flip the feed so I look better on Teams. Can I do that with Ecamm for Mac?

Can I use Virtual Cam to go to Zoom and simultaneously Go Live via a stream Key to a website? I noticed some demos show Go Live and some show Recording. Thanks!
Hi CR M! Great question. Short answer is no. Ecamm Live allows you to live stream (and multistream via our integration with Restream). Once you're done, you'll get a video recording of your live broadcast automatically saved on your computer OR you can record with Ecamm without ever going live.
You can also use virtual camera to basically have Ecamm Live (and all of your settings in it) act as your camera in other apps like Zoom, Meet, Teams, WebEx, etc. This just changes the camera from your built-in webcam to whatever you've created in Ecamm. So basically you can drive the show in Ecamm Live and it'll appear in Zoom, for example. Hope that helps.
@@EcammLive So if I was using Virtual Cam to go in a Zoom session and then hit the Go Live button, nothing would go to my stream key destination. The entire video output of Ecamm would go strictly to Zoom. Thanks for your reply!!
Hi CR M. You wouldn't need to hit go live or record. Zoom would just pull Ecamm's feed in as a camera. No additional steps needed.

*What can you do or what have you done to fix the "blurriness" of Ecamm Virtual Cam when using it on a platform such as Zoom?* I am always receiving complaints from both clients that I produce events for or when I am teaching my students.... * I do have a Camlink, a separate older Mac, a M1 Mac Mini, and a M1 Macbook Pro, and Ecamm.... I use ethernet, and I have my Zoom account upgraded to HD resolution 720p....* I would greatly appreciate your insight. Thanks so much!

It sounds like you're doing all of the right things. Typically that blurriness is being caused by the settings in your Zoom account, but if you've upgraded to the 720p resolution, you should be good. Is your camera quality crisp and clear in Ecamm alone? Or are you seeing the blurriness in both Ecamm and Zoom?
@@EcammLive Thanks for getting back to me! Yes, I use a Sony A6600. My students are saying that it is not clear when they see it in Zoom. It come through perfect on Ecamm.

Hi there, how do I do the reverse so I can incorporate zoom Into my eccam session then use eccam to go live on RUclips ? Zoom doesn’t show up in any of the drop down windows in eccam
What are you doing in Zoom that you want to bring into Ecamm? You can add interview guests natively in Ecamm using our Interview Mode.

I Tried the Ecamm "Virtual Cam" on Zoom. I turned on Scrolling Ticker on Ecamm and comes in "reverse" on Zoom. Any way to fix this?
I believe It shows you reverse but normal to the broadcast. I think Zoom flips the image to make right hand left hand more understandable for neophytes to being on camera. - Doc
Try playing with the "Mirror your video" function in zoom. That might be a quick hack.

Are we still have to use a different program to send audio?
We do not have a virtual microphone for Ecamm Live, so you'll need an app like Loopback if you're trying to pull through audio you're playing in Ecamm to Zoom. Here's more info: support.ecamm.com/en/articles/3806002-using-loopback-to-create-a-virtual-mic
