I think this would be much easier with verbal instructions added for a beginner. It is easy once I write down the stitch and watch your movements a couple of times. I always seem to miss either one whole part or 1 stitch. I found myself starting from the beginning several times before I memoriesed the stitch to beable to move on.
The pattern for myself coz only I can understand this lol Pink Ch 3, dc on 1st st, ch 3, hold 3rd, ch 3, dc on the hold Repeat ch 3, hold 3rd, ch 3, dc on the hold Repeat until desired length Ch 4, dc3tog on the hole of the ch 3 and dc, ch 4, dc3tog same hole, ch 1, Repeat dc3tog next hole On last hole do the same next is ch 2,dc on that hole, dc3tog, ch 4, ch 1, dc3tog next On last ch 3, slst
i think this video need more verbal explanation for beginners like me who dont know where to hook yet and havent tried 3 double crochets or triple crochets yet. ugh my head hurts trying to follow how many times have you pulled through every loops and where you hook it
Agreed. for a video advertised as an easy tutorial for beginners, it sure is confusing. I quit near the beginning when we started doing "dc3tog" with no explanation. No hate, but the video is falsely titled.
This headband is adorable and I was excited to try to make it, but the video is really confusing. I think either a verbal or written description would help a lot.
Here's the correct count for the tan color at 6:46 : Start on the side (at the end) you started your project on. Push into the center stitch (the one that doesn't belong to a flower petal), yarn over, pull, yarn over again, pull *sorry if I don't make sense, not too great on the crochet language lol* 4sc then 6sc,1sc (repeat until end of row) 4sc then 3sc, back to 6sc, 1sc (repeat untill end of row) 2sc then slip stitch into the first stitch you made. Hope this helps someone! I loved making this. I'm used to watching peoples hands then actually reading patterns so I didn't have as hard of time but I know a few who would be lost. I always suggest people to look up video tuturials that show you specific stitches and how to do them. Helps those who are new to crochet.
When it comes to the final single crochets around this project, I find that I don't even count the stitches and just do how many it takes to cover the previous color. Given the yarn I used it actually took 2 sc instead of the suggested 1 sc for the smaller sections to achieve full cover with new color.
@@michelle1182 Awesome! I did that with the 3rd one I made since I switched yarn type. I believe its easier to add or remove stiches when you have a better understanding of the pattern. Had I tried to do that when I was a beginner crocheter I would have failed miserably.
I absolutely love this pattern and have made several as well. The time you took to write the sc counts was very thoughtful and kind. The last couple I have made I didn't use the string and just continued the pattern until it was big enough for my head and then sewed the two ends together through the finished sc's at both ends. @@yoleniartz
@@michelle1182 Thank you! And I love the idea of just doing the full pattern. I've made them for friends but would love to make myself one next time I get more yarn. 💕
I ask for your help. I've succeeded in this tutorial, so I'm trying to rebuild it into a rubber band-connected version, but I don't know how hard I try I want to do a rubber band version for my daughter.🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻

Change the playback speed in the settings. That's what I do with the crotchet videos I watch. It helps a lot...
