- #19 in a series of Pinball machines reviews, thank you to Cat for the competition & Keith from New Forest Pinball for the machine!
These videos are a brief review of the machine covering my own reviews on:
The Playfield
The Gameplay
My Likes & Dislikes
Strategy
Black Knight was released by Williams in 1980. It was designed by Steve Richie (the legendary) and if it isn't a classic, I don't know what is. This particular machine has been through New Forest Pinball's workshop, whilst still retaining its original playfield, is full of lovely LED's. You can play many similar 90's Classics Pinball machines at Special When Lit Pinball club in Salisbury - where I encourage you to go and get involved in the scene.

That "half-pressed-in" flipper button technique is genius.
was amazing playing this when it first came out ! great vid thank you x
Dang, I have never found this machine anywhere. Looks awesome.
I have owned a1980 Black Knight for over 20 years, one of Williams best games. I like the red belts you have on yours...
wowee!
Great review of my favorite game.. One correction - No matter which of the 4 sets of targets you hit, you ALWAYS get the right magnasave first, and then the left only if the right is already lit. You can actually see this in your video at 5:40 when she scores the left lower side and gets rewarded the right magnasave. Also, a clarification - That extra ball becomes available when you complete BOTH of the sets of drop targets at the top 3 times (by default in one ball) and then hit that left ramp.. There's a similar reward (can't remember what) for getting both of the lower sets 3x and then going through the center ramp to the upper playfield. The 3 arrows pointing at each set of targets keep track of your progress. Also, you didn't show it, but in a multi-player game, by default the winner gets a 30 second bonus round of unlimited balls to add to the score.. keep plunging, and keep scoring! I think this can be disabled in settings, so it must have been disabled on my machine. Love this machine - It's fast and unforgiving as you point out!!
Yup, I turned off the 30 second extended time to save time on league play. Does have fun music when it’s running. I didn’t realise it was always right magna save first no matter what, makes sense considering it’s usually the most worn - Had this game about a year and I thought I knew the rules 😝 cheers for clarifications 👍
@@pinballreviews1363 Wow! Only had it for a year?! I've had mine for a LONG time, and you're way better at it than I am! :-) My excuse is that my flippers were worn and I couldn't make that left ramp shot.. I just replaced my flipper sleeves on the lower flippers for the first time last week so I am "rediscovering" black knight and having a great time with it!
Thank you - Yep well worth getting it running nicely, it’s a great game - thanks for the enthusiastic comments 😁 & Good luck defeating the Black Knight 😄
Wow! 2 reviews in 24 hours! It's like waiting for a bus... 😜
