    Looks awesome. Question: Can you feel the load behind the blade? On a 'regular ' machine, you can feel the load and 'strain' on the engine. I used to be able to 'feather' the throttle when fine grading and feel exactly how much material I was pushing vs. what is going under the blade. That combined with the automatic pitch control "in your butt" is what enables you to make and hold a grade. I don't know if I could "connect" to a machine that has the exact same torque, regardless of load. IUOE Local 15, 38yrs ret

      Interesting! would be very surprising if the electric motor doesn't give you at least a little bit of feedback on the load and strain on the engine! Let me know if you ride one of the electric ones!

    Sure getting lots of site compaction vs using a grader which I believe would be more efficient especially cost of equipment wear. Good advertising though.

      All positive feedback. Plenty of power and very smooth to operate as there’s no power shift transmission with it being electric drive.

      Komatsu’s do get a good name for smaller dozers but the D6XE is a very good dozer and definitely worth being open minded about.

    Why would U wear out all them , pins , bushings, sprockets, rollers , and track chains, when a grader can do the same job better faster and only wear out the cutting edge. Absolute waste of a machine . It was never made to do a graders job.

    • @AwesomeEarthmovers
      @AwesomeEarthmovers  3 года назад +1

      There are big fuel savings with the XE compared to direct drive D6’s. It depends on what application you are working in though.

      I didn’t like Komatsu... until I ran some. I especially hated the new small dozers with the sloped nose. But... the visibility is amazing. They can push. But... for a mid size machine... I’ll stick to cat. Smaller dozers...Komatsu. I can do pretty much anything from clearing to chasing 350 excavators to cutting curb and gutter pan with the older D41p Komatsu. They both make fine machines tho. But for mid size... D6 to D8 size machines... I’d take Cat.

    • @timacosta7015
      @timacosta7015 3 года назад +6

      There are no batteries, it's not a hybrid. It's diesel-electric so they use a smaller diesel motor (C9.3) to run a generator that provides power to the electric traction motors.
