That's Not a Catfish!

  • In this video, I go to buffalo bayou in search of big flathead catfish. After a rain when the water rises is the best time to try to catch them. We were using live bluegill and caught a little one within the first 5 minutes. Then me and my friend Brandon went to the second spot and tried there for a little bit. After around 30 minutes immune line went slack and I thought I had a giant catfish but it turned out being a 7 foot alligator. I hope you enjoyed the video!!

Growing up in Florida, and an avid fisherman, chances are, you’ve hook a gator eventually. Usually, they like to grab your catch. Same thing fishing in saltwater, soon or later a shark will get your catch, you also need to watch Dolphins they will steal your catch too.

rhbramley as a Fisher man that is also Floridian that is pretty accurate however I've never caught a gator because I usually fish in salt water but I don't have a boat I have a canoue and a kayak so I use those i usually after a while hook on to lemon sharks bonnetheads and nurse sharks

Yeah he is like it's a gator. The hell with the gator look at that pole bend and the damn line it held the gator and he reeled it up to the bank. Gotta say nice pool nice line and nice reel. What kind of pole you use? I'm not a big fan of bait casters I like open face. But that bait caster did the job.

Happy to see you used your common sense in getting as much line away from the Gators body... Unlike some people's comments... You obviously know, cutting that line with 20 feet hanging out of it's mouth ( Which would be most likely certain death ) You chose to do the right thing 👍👍👍 CUDOS BRO ! I live here in Florida and have probably hooked 20 plus Gators & for the most part they are only 3 or 4 feet long, so fighting them till they are tired is doable. Then you just reach dwn grab their tail gently step on their head & grab both tail and jaw... Cover their eye's with a rag & Retrieve ur hook or cut the line very short... Then take a pic & release 📷📷📷😝😝😝👍👍👍👍👍... Nice video thanks for sharing !
