      Don't forget the lava tubes are weak areas where moonquakes can rock ya. Yes, moonquakes are real. So check out for fault lines first. When the volcanos quake, its the lava tubes providing easy access for the quake waves to seek out the area of least resistance.

    • @fusiontricycle6605
      @fusiontricycle6605 6 лет назад

      But the moon isn't geology active, perhaps those are ancient fault lines that won't cause any moonquakes. The reason they may be there is because erosion isn't a thing on the moon because it doesn't have an atmosphere or liquid water.

      Xenn000 idk if this is true, a soviet union once explored the moon, but they're astronauts exploring the moon, died because of lack of oxygen and lack of safety measures, etc. and a humanoid form can be formed in the lava tubes itself with a chemical substance. (just got this theory from playing zarya 1 on play store)

    many people feel great discomfort if they live underground for extended periods of time i.e claustrophobia among other issues. Does this entire colonization idea work? yes it is practical. But some hate living in constricted spaces underground. The humanity is squeezed out of these projects.

    Empty lava tubes have underground caves big enough for cities ... could be an effective way to create a lunar colony and start our species off towards the interplanetary expanse until we develop proper radiation shielding and materials that could survive micrometeorite impacts, at which point, scenic domes could be constructed for our people to live in ... we're on our way ... 🌚

      @thetimelords911 6 лет назад +6

      Some Gravity is better than no (apparent) gravity at all though. We still have yet to do human testing in long term low gravity environments to see what the effects on the body are. What we do know however, is in no gravity or 'apparent' no gravity environments like the space station, staying there long term can cause heart, muscle, bone, and eye sight problems. Having some gravity might help. Maybe even a lot. My hypothesis is if there is enough gravity that we can jump up and come back down in less than 10-20 seconds, then I think we are good.

      I was thinking the same thing. There would need to be constant tracking and rotation of people between Moon and Earth to ensure nobody spends too much time up there; much like space station personnel rotation but with a longer time period being allowed on the Moon than on the space stations. Nobody knows the effects of long term Moon gravity on humans but I would not be surprised if the mental effects due to changes in the brain would present some hazards to the Moon society and to the Earth society by those 'recovering' from their Moon deployment.
