I was just looking for a video to throw up on the monitor while I was working … bless 🙏 I’m such a big mood reader, normally just end up going on mini binges within one genre 😂
I recently discovered your channel and I am in love with you and your channel. You are so smart and such a good vibe. I am invested! ❤ much love to you!!
sending a huge hug, melinda! hopefully recovery’s been going smoothly, and that you have a good support system around you while you get back on your feet🫶🏼
I hope you continue to enjoy Veronica Speedwell! I've finished three books in the series, and while the mysteries are usually hit or miss (1 and 3 were good, but 2 was meh for me), the humor and the relationship between Veronica and Stoker remain top tier at all times.
i was thinking this would be the case, especially with the amount of books in the series!! as long as their dynamic is serving, i can withstand a mid book or two🙂↔️
you are amazing at convincing me to read books! I’m not an Ali Hazelwood girlie but your description makes me wanna read it! And I always love your commentary on books! You always see perspectives I don’t see and I love going into books looking for what you see 🥹💗
@@MelReads It's still a few books for that! I'm up to date with the series and I very rarely reread books, but these were such a comfort read for me that I catch myself thinking 'I wish I was reading Veronica Speedwell right now. 😅 And I'm not often a huge fan of romance plots in books, but these were so so well done. The feeling of catching up with the last book was honestly heartbreaking, I feel like the characters are my friends.
My kindle has quickly become one of my most prized possessions, so I say go for it! Maybe grab it whenever next on sale. I think the paperwhite screen feels soooo different from reading on a phone/iPad, especially when reading in the evening!
I've had a few people ask me if I've seen Game of Throns. We don't have hbo.. but with the amount of people asking me. I'm very tempted to start reading the series. And Mel reading them is making me want to start it even more. I may borrow them from my library though.
True mood reader lol I can’t for the life of me ever stick to a TBR lol I read what I’m in the mood for and I just would love a way for it to be easier to find book clubs that also are reading the book you choose at the time you choose it if that makes sense lol
First again? Dang 😂 Never watched GOT and never was interested either but you my girl have a way with words or something about your energy idk but now I want to pick it up! Curious beginnings sounds a little like India Holton's books. Might just be up my alley 👀
maybe it’s not the time, or maybe not the book for you!! either way, i always say to read something you’ll enjoy instead of forcing yourself to finish🫶🏼
Hey, Mel. I have a question. What did you do with the annotated books? Do you keep them for a while? Do you give them away? I'm trying to figure out what to do with mine 😊. Thanks.
i tend to keep them, for the most part! sometimes i pick them up randomly just to flick through them🥹 and then if i ever reread, i keep adding annotations!
i knoooow😫 for some reason i can’t bring myself to buy one tho??? i feel i’m going to need to do this during an impulsive moment to not talk myself out of it for the millionth time LMAO
Regarding GOT and violence against women, it gets worse in the later books. It’s more subtle than in the show, more in words than on page action but I wouldn’t say it was added by the show runners either, rather translated on screen because in a show you can’t convey in the same way a man meeting a woman and thinking about 🍇ing her (that happened every time a new woman was introduced by the last book)🥴
Love that you have a romance to balance out GoT. Much needed. I adored Not In Love, but it was not as smutty as I was led to believe. Also I feel you on the eye fatigue. I never noticed if it is from certain kinds of light though. I'll have to pay more attention.

omg same with the mini binges! it’s typically always with manga and romance books, i read one and then i spiraaaaal🤣
Same! The world is my TBR lol so I just grab a book and read .
i felt this in my soul🤣
Mel, you are amazing. If no one has told you today, you are doing a phenomenal job. Love your content! 🤍

I just love your videos. I am trying to recover from breast cancer surgery and your videos make me feel better. Keep up the great work 😊
Hope you recover well ❤️ give yourself all the love and patience.

i bet the screen feels extra good!! i’ve also heard it weighs next to nothing, so i think my carpal would appreciate it a ton👀
45 mins! Wow! Thanks for this I'm going to get something to drink and hunker down.
oooo what did we end up drinking?👀
First comment, so proud omg. Love your videos Mel!!! Mood reading is so true.
we love the first comment🔥✨
Game of thrones intimidates me so much lol
i can definitely see why!! it’s surprisingly a lot more accessible than what i had anticipated🏇

i’ve heard of india holton’s books being compared to the veronica speedwell series, so i feel like i need to borrow one from libby and see what’s up👀
Girl I am struggling with GoT again! It’s not holding my attention but I love the show.

I tried to be a planned reads girly but it did not work at all for me. 🤣
📚📚✨
💖✨
how many books do you read a month as a mood reader?
it depends on the month, but 5 is my typical average!
💜💜
I was going to suggest you watch Interview with the Vampire... but it's with your family!😬
That's gonna be awkward, right?
