- My heart is so happy and my soul is singing and my 15-year old Mythology nerd is jumping with joy and I have a question...
🙈 Quick, click "show more" while I'm not looking to see the question 🙈
Do you like the end of Hadestown or would've preferred they went with an original ending?

Why We Build the Wall was actually written back in 2006 so it was just a coincidence that it applies to modern American politics
Fun Fact: “Our Lady of the Underground” is actually really depressing live. Persephone is on stage all alone with the band, drinking while she pretends to help people around her. When she says that the moon is in her “pay per view” she frowns and gestures to her head.
"If i was starving and all my husband did was sing la la la la, i would have done the same" that cracked me up
"Does Hades look as threatening as he sounds?" I mean, the man shows up in a pinstriped suit with a leather trench coat over top, black leather gloves and sunglasses that he takes on and off as needed, so uh, you tell me.
They need to film this and put it on some streaming service, I don’t care which, I’ll buy it.
It's really hard to explain for me, but there is something so special about Hadestown being a show that is played time after time. It is mostly obvious in both versions of Road to hell, but, out of the context of the story, it reflects hope. Hermes is telling us Eurydice and Orpheus' story night after night, in hopes that one day, it will come out right, with a happy ending. After so many iterations where Orpheus loses the love of his life, he (along those who know the story) is hopeful that they still can turn it around. I think that is both beautiful and heartbreaking. Like... I believe they should change the story and make it with a happy ending on the very last performance on Broadway. It would make a beautiful message that goes beyond one performance and the myth itself
You geeking over Greek mythology is so relatable to me
We raise our cups comes after the bows! The actors are playing actors telling the story 🤯
i will NEVER not be bitter that Amber didn’t get her Tony
Orpheus felt like my ex's youngest daughter who was autistic. Though not quite. But he really get gets stuck in his own head and forgets checking on others and his emotions are 100% on his sleeve.
Literally Hermes in the very first song: “It’s a sad song, it’s a tragedy.”
"Give it up- for Orpheus!"
“Is he literally just gonna go sing lalala while everyone freezes to death?”
18:42
one of my favorite parts of this show is how they chose to go about eurydice’s death. instead of her simply dying, she chose to go to hadestown for her own will- adds a lot of character to her mythology counterpart.
Barbara: Whoever the trombone player is, I hope he has a good day
"... For Orpheus!"
Hadestown is an absolutely beautiful show. There’s a reason it won Best Musical.
“Is Orpheus just gonna sing ‘la la la la la la la’ while people freeze?”
