Martha is so cool, i still think that the music she did with the motels still stands tall and is worth listening to everyday. I still enjoy it very much
Martha is now 72 and she still possesses a flawless voice, she may not be as long winded but nonetheless she sounds wonderful. I know because I saw The Motels last night! And I loved it!!!
I am so glad Martha has stuck with music all this time, even if the industry did not know what they had in front of them. Bandmates come & go, but Martha is timeless (and very smart to realize touring is how to make the cheddar in the business). Much love!
When you hear Tragic Surf, your on the beach at 3AM. When you hear Little Robbers, your on your street in New York. When you hear, Suddenly Last Summer, your on the beach in the afternoon. When you hear Mr. Grey, your closing the bar at the Cub Room. When you hear Tell it to the Moon, it's midnight on Saturday Night without a lover. She is the ultimate artist, who can capture real life and turn into a musical flick, without a video. I love her versatile work!
I saw Martha and the Motels in Height Ashbury area, San Fransisco in 1977 or so, and it was AMAZING, revolutionary and fabulous. I remember TOTAL CONTROL, one of my favourite songs of all times. Martha, thank You and the Motels, from Mary Molloy, in Killala in the West of Ireland xx you and the Motels are unique and great artists. Thanks for all. Maybe see you at our Killala Bay Folk Club - not of course only Folk music, but yes, pushing the boundaries - and you would be most welcome. All love and respect. Mary Molloy xx
All Four One was the 3rd album I ever bought. (Hall & Oates H2O / Pretenders II) and I remember seeing the video for Only the Lonely constantly on MTV in 1982? 83? and then "Suddenly Last Summer" also. I listened to them in 1983, then took a 35 year break, and no here I am again....
Really gross unnecessary comment from Max Power (if that is your real name ) and it is as follows; 'It sucks when once Hot Rock Chicks get old' I mean, pal, what do you want these "hot rock chicks" to do? Die? Go into hiding? Or most likely, never age and be 'hot rock chicks' forever? Should an alarm go off when their skin sags? There's a huge gross problem with the way you look at women in music pal. GET A GRIP AND QUIT THE DOUBLE STANDARDS. ALSO MARTHA RULES
i was almost going to comment that she still looks great, but then i started to think of why it should matter? why do we judge people by their physical appearance. its far worse for women than it is for men. and your right, IT IS A GROSS WORLD VIEW! and MARTHA IS AMAZING!
Nice comment!! Hopefully we'll all be lucky enough to 'get old'. Women always take a brutal hit when they age. People want to remember how someone looked 30 yrs ago, never stopping to think none of us have a choice. We age or die young. I'd rather see Martha or even Ann Wilson at their current age than to have had them pass away at a younger age.
Um... if I may chime in... just for a second..... "Martha and the Motels touched me so intensely during my early adolescence that... I still find her absolutely hot, and would make passionate love to her no matter what she looks like on the outside... no matter how old she gets.. I love you Martha...I used to cry to that song
Martha is both spacey AND down to earth. Love her voice talking AND singing.,., so freaking SMOOTH.
Suddenly last Summer, 1983. I was stationed in Germany and I bought that album. One of my favorites of all time.
I love Martha Davis 🖤 she is absolutely beautiful
Suddenly last Summer, 1983. I love that song.

Always had and still has a beautiful vocal. Could listen to her sing all day.
One of the most beautiful, natural sounding female voices ever in rock music. She was lady the Mel Torme of punk.
Long live vinal. And long live Martha. 🥂

If Martha Davis had only ever sung Total Control and nothing else ever, she would have still been an absolute legend! Absolutely love Martha Davis!

Martha did a great short set last night on the replayamerica.com tour. Her vocals were spot-on.

It sucks when once Hot Rock Chicks get old. Love Martha no matter.
Interestingly, at the time of her big hits, she was already 36, with a 21 year old daughter.
She was 32 when All For One broke big.
saw Martha in 2014,a great set, not the taped set , the set set, ah nevermind
