  • When I was about 12, I received a Marshall MS-2 battery powered amp for Christmas ('94/'95). I used it to make 4-track demos until about 2000...then the jack broke, I took it apart, never got around to fixing it, threw the parts in a box, and there they sat...for 20+ years.
I recently (re)discovered the box/amp parts and decided to reassemble it. Sure, I could've bought a new one...but that wasn't the point. The point was to - if possible - return MY little 9V-battery-powered-amp to all of its 1-watt glory. And I was able to do just that...minus the Marshall name badge and original battery door.
If anything, I restored (and upgraded) what I now consider to be a family heirloom.
    Seriously.
