I was there at Yukawa Institute in Kyoto University for a winter school, last week. Truly great campus and atmosphere all around. I am also looking forward to do my Postdoc from here. Great channel 💌

Thanks for this! I'm deciding on whether to study at Kyodai or Todai but I'm still indecisive! The views outside the campus and the run by the bridge looks so peaceful! Maybe Kyodai should be my first choice... :')
i'd say tokyo and kyoto give completely different vibes!
tokyo life feels very fast-paced and theres a probably a lot going on but i am definitely a nature-oriented person so kyoto was my first choice. the river is called kamogawa and there are also lots of お寺 and traditional shops here that's definitely not as common as in tokyo~

Yes, if you wanna decide whether tokyo or kyoto, i think consider the rent price as well where tokyo would be more expensive (depending which ward you live as well). I gotta say kyoto is chill and relaxing, meanwhile tokyo has more hectic city vibe.
I have done those last problems in my high school. That's what they teach you . LOL
but still it's fun remembering those stuff

Hello! I am coming into Kyodai this spring semester as part of the KUINEP program, super excited! I am currently looking at dorms, and Hyakumanben is my first choice, but I am currently debating over Shigakuin vs Mizuki as my second choice. I would love a social/community feel, and I heard Mizuki RA's host events, but I am concerned about the older facilities and 100 yen showers. Shigakuin sounds good but is a bit far, and I am unsure how social it is (esp since I am a girl and it looks like the common areas are on the guy's floors? Not too sure about this info).
hiii im not quite sure what mizuki is like but shugakuin is very spacious. im not very familiar with shugakuin's layout, but indeed probably the common area isnt used often. people are generally very friendly and more social in classes so i wont worry too much~
Looks really chill and laid back which is nice. Do you know the sort of grades I would need to get into IUP? Program looks really cool, just wondering if many a level students attend this course.

90th percentile look incredibly hard to achieve but hopefully i should be on track to achieve that. Either way, just going to try my best. Thank you for the advice.

Question, after you graduate, do you still plan on living and working in Japan?
I'm currently in 12th grade here in India. This used to be my dream University back in 10th but I'm not sure if Kyoto is the one or no. I'm very conflicted as my highschool life ends in like 5 months
Kyoto U seems like the perfect choice if you're looking to immerse yourself fully in Japanese culture while mastering the language. Few programs offer the same level of intensity when it comes to Japanese language classes! As for my plans after graduation, I haven't made a final decision yet, but staying in Japan and finding a job here is definitely an option. ✨
Iam also in grade in 11 and fully decided to get into kyoto university and yeah iam from india too

The more I see from kyoto the more I want to make sure I get in lol. How's cost of living there? Did you get a scholarship?
u won't regret! i think most people have a scholarship and costs of most things are not high at all, especially when u compare the quality of the stuff sold here.
@@likatube Ty! Hopefully I do get a scholarship. Have looked at the costs and although it is definitely cheaper than unis in my country, it will be impossible without one as obviously can't get a loan.
Also, are you an iUP student or did you get in through some other way? I'm currently working on my essay so if you have any tips you can give I would be very grateful.

yup the dorms are mixed. theres a separate wing for guys and girls so we still get to see each other at the common space!

hi!!! i am staying at hyakumanben and i def recommend it (thinking of filming a dorm tour in febuary so look out for that☺) but otherwise i heard shugakuin (修学院) is quite nice as well, just further towards the north from campus

Upcoming IB student here and i'm curious on what standardized test you used to apply for the kyoto iup. I saw on their website that IB scores are accepted, but how do I submit with my predicted scores?

Not for me, but because there will be a lot of Japanese language classes you do need to have the motivation to learn 😆

hulloo first year student here and for the dorm it probably varies case by case but most of the international students i know have single rooms!
