Your mama had a good message. Poverty, though, is such a strain on mental health, and some just cannot “stand tall” in the midst of the struggle. Thankfully, ministries such as this precious one, stand in the gap and extend compassion without judgment. Our world needs more of that. 🙏🏻💖
If you live in the same area maybe you should stop by their house and help them pick it up instead of talking shit. That's what's wrong with this world... motherfuckers like you!
They are all able bodied enough to pick their trash up and show some pride . I am from WV and everyone is not lazy like these people in this video. Shame on them
I'm 70 and was born in Welch and spent my first 7 yrs in McDowell County. We were really poor. My Father walked the train tracks picking up coal for our stove. We always had a clean house inside and out. My Mother even swept the front yard. Somewhere the people of McDowell lost their pride. Government programs I guess?
This is just more propaganda that this mission puts out. Why aren't they helping to clean up? Why aren't they helping the people get jobs? Why aren't they lobbying the governor and his corrupt bureaucracy to pass it down to local government of this county? I'm a paralyzed veteran raising two of my grandchildren and a disabled wife. I need the trees cut down on front of my house because they threaten to fall on us very time a storm comes through. We haven't been able to do any maintenance on our house for close to twenty years.
I agree to an extent..but imagine being in that place without knowing where your next dollar will come from, or being in an abusive relationship and how depressing it would be. Depression can block out the surroundings and they don't notice, but on the other hand being clean might help that out a little.
I was born in Welch, West Virginia. Thank you so very much for everything you do and are doing to help. My dad and mom moved us. Away because of all the lay offs in the coal mines. We have lived in North Carolina since I was little, I'm 60 now.
Reading the comments about cleaning there yard..where will they put the trash??It cost money for garbage truck to come by..THEY ARE POOR..God bless these people...EVERYONE HAS AN ANSWER FOR EVERYTHING...Thank you for this video...It shows humanity at its worst..There are good people who still care.
Anyone can pick up garbage, yes they can but I can tell you if someone showed them and gave a little hope of how much better they'd feel with cleanliness around them it would go a long way. I know from experience when a house or yard gets too cluttered your mind just shuts off and you get worn out thinking what am I going to do there is so much work! The kids can do it but they need someone who isn't so bogged down with the responsibility of raising the family that they are too tired to want to do better. Just saying it would mean a lot if someone came and helped them get organized. There is usually one kid that wants it better. Prayers also help.
Even the poor can pick up garbage and clean there property.i sugest a rake and sme garbage bags ! This is laziness . But I'm so glad kingdoms first missions is a blessing to so many who need help.
+Charlene Robertson It sounds like the only way to change the situation is through some tough love. Where I live, they are starting to force people to work before they are even eligible for food stamps. They have no incentive to work, that's why they laugh at the idea. Working would kick them off benefits. If they needed to work in order to get benefits, or else go cold and hungry, the idea might not seem so hilarious to them. I work full time and I'm poor, but not poor enough for any kind of gov't help and 30% of my paycheck goes to lazy a-holes who laugh at folks who work. I'm really sick of it. At work, day in and day out I see people spending their food stamps on candy, chips, and soda. Enough is enough.
Hank Hamelin its a difficult thing to explain but don't label those who u think r being negative as u did. Take a day off n volunteer n see how tough it is for both. Life is crazy n the worse we can do is pass judgment.
I'm from Logan County West Virginia. I grew up very poor....we lived in a coal camp in a little 4 room house that had an outside toilet. Yes, we were poor, but were always clean! Our house and yard were always kept clean! This is shameful and these people are just lazy! Being poor don't give people a ticket to be lazy! This place could look fairly decent if some of those able-bodied people who live there would get up off their dead asses and do something, and take a little bit of pride in themselves and their home!!! This is utterly disgusting, and there is no excuse for this!!!
What you see here most people can not even began to understand. When generation after generation are raised with no education no hope no faith and no self respect for there stuff or even there self. You would feel embarrassed for someone to see you this way but they honestly dont know any better so they dont feel embarrassed. They just go through life day by day doing what ever it takes to get to the next day. I pray that the children here get the help and guidance I received when I was young so they can brake the cycle of repeating the way they are raised and get out of that environment.
These people are obviously malnourished. And when a person is malnourished they can't think clearly, nonetheless clean. A lot of times when you are malnourished one drifts aimlessly. It happened to me. I understand.

Have you people ever lived in such conditions? Poverty in abundance, no employment opportunities in the area that pay a livable wage (dont say they can just move, as that takes money that they dont have....and generation to generation the cycle of poverty repeats), and sucked into the mire of depression, anxiety, and hopelessness that all of your surroundings bring? Depression is terrible and almost as bad as mental torment, at some point they break....and give in to rhe, 'this is how it just is' mentality.
I love these people, Appalachian folks. I wonder how many are aware of just how many of us really admire them and see them as an inspiration. I spent two weeks in Montcalm, right near there. The situation there is exactly the same. And still, there was definitely a very strong sense of family and history. These people didn’t have anything and yet, they had a lot more humility and sincerity than many of us outsiders will ever acquire. I remember my first day there. We were visiting a friend of mine that lived there and in their backyard was a little woodland path that led straight to a little place called Happy Holler. Some kids were playing, pretending to be soldiers and cowboys and Indians. I thought to myself, “you really don’t see this much up in the northern, coastal suburbs and urban enclaves where I’m from; traditional families with lots of children playing with toy guns, pretending to be great heroes and noble warriors. And for as much as urban, “progressive” America has turned it’s backs on these folks, they still waved Old Glory outside of every house and maintained that classic sense of national pride that’s now long gone in most densely populated places of the US. And this one little fella, couldn’t have been any older than seven or eight, handed me a paperback copy of a book about war hero Chris Kyle. He didn’t even know me…and believe me, I definitely stood out! And generosity wasn’t even a second thought. He said, “hey buddy, here…I want you to have this…”. And that was that. I found most of the adults and older folks to be just as lovely.

I couldn’t agree more I grew up dirt poor but we didn’t live in a garbage dump I don’t think they are aware that it makes them look lazy and straight up trashy I’m assuming a brand new home would look like that in a short time but then again maybe they have kind of just given up which also isn’t acceptable considering the children I think they should face the facts and get out of there you can’t let sentimental feeling rule your life anyways I wish them well especially the children
This saddens me and makes mad too. Not these people, but our government. W.V. is one of the most richest states in minerals coal, oil, and gas. Most all these big Companies pay the highest revenues and road taxes to operate and we have the poorest conditions to live in, the worst roads to travel, and our fat cats in office just reap all the rewards. I've lived in northern west virginia all my life and I love our state but like everyone else I just live pay check to paycheck. Thankfully I've been able too hold on to my job for 38 years and so close to retirement age but I'll have to keep working another 10 - 15 years if my health holds out and our company holds up. Good Lord willing our government don't shut them down, like so many businesses in this once proud state. One thing I've learned in my career, don't trust our elected officials for your betterment. It's not going to happen.
I was born in McDowell county Welch actually I was raised in Florida move to Florida when I was a baby but I used to visit every summer my grandma and now I actually live in West Virginia but they are not talking about the flood that pretty much wiped out everything in McDowell county and a lot of places have not recovered well just one of them downtown Welch used to be boomin when I was real little but now especially after the flood it's like a ghost town there's a couple small businesses but it's not what it used to be.. I do pray that something will come there and bring hundreds of jobs or thousands of jobs
I respect the fact that these people are very poor-I get that.......but you do not need money to keep your yard and your lane clean. The garbage lying around is disgusting and does not have to be......
2233golf2 you respect poverty??! what kind of a moron are you??! do you have a heart compassion or empathy for any one else on this planet??! when was the last time you helped out anyone ? Walmart just left that county after 10 years many many people HAVE NO JOBS let alone garbage bags while Walmart sits nice and pretty high on Forbes list draining working people funding corruption PAYS 0 ZERO TAXES. I suggest you wake up and open your eyes the world you live in today and I hope some day you will or someone close to you will experience real poverty and real struggle because you deserve it.
Praise God thank you for helping out less fortunate I'm about the same way I don't have running water I do have electric I don't have a bathroom I have an hour house I struggle everyday my roof leaks me and my poor little Chihuahua we do have an AC thanks to my grandma I live on her property spending our family over 100 years
Yes he is !! I don't see him as being a real Christian if he was he would do it without making a Damn RUclips video. Oh and not all of west Virginia looks like this Lmfao I am sitting in beautiful Jefferson county West Virginia writing this in an looking right at the beautiful blue ridge mountains and the Shenandoah river. These ppl are lazy because most of west Virginia looks beautiful unlike this filth. He had to ride almost to the slums of his home country to find this filth !! He needs to GTHOOH .
While I partly agree it is pretty difficult to diversify if you put your money one mereley one horse. Tourism perhaps, I mean sightseeing wise the region seems lovely.
This was commented on before. Pick up your trash. That is the epitome of laziness. I know they have free trash service there. No excuse to live in such filth.
Please post this mission's info on your socailmedia sources to help spread the word about their efforts. Pray about supporting their mission and help as the Lord leads you to do so. ✨🙏✨ Thank you and may the Lord richly bless ALL of you!
I feel so sad for people suffering through lack of necessities & poverty. It is heartbreaking, but when I see all those toys & trash just thrown, littering everywhere surrounding this family, I just want to clean up. It's all I can think about. All those young people, we could have it cleaned up in a day. I don't understand why anyone would live amongst trash. When the children's toys & bikes are thrown around like rubbish, it won't teach the children to look after there belongings. It really does start at home. Suffering & poverty are forced by circumstance on these families & children but living in chaotic trash is optional. During my travels through America for a short time, I found myself living in a tent & it was spotless inside & out. Good luck to these poor people.
There are worst places all over the country, Detroit, Cleveland, New Orleans and many more. So i can say this, at lease you wont be robbed or shot for no reason walking to the store. At least someone is not going to put a gun in your face for your car. The ghetto is worst. Dirty and Dangerous. I dont live in one but have been through them all over the country when I use to work for this company called NVO. But yea, they do need to do some cleaning, if they have no where to put all the trash, they can at least burn it once a week all into ashes.
This is how the poor are shown whether in the hollows of ky wv or the innercities. Instead of being judgemental reach out to to the people. There by the grace of God go I.
Why tf y’all hating cause she don’t work and y’all talking about the yard ok damn they clean it up before they moved damn y’all got nothing nice to say so don’t say nothing at all damn 🙄
Why do you have to trash up your yard? They are trash. Period. You don't have to live like that even if you are poor. She looks 55, not 37. There is no future in McDowell county. You either leave or you deal with it how it is.
Don't ever judge a book by its cover or judge a man period until you walk a mile in that mans shoes!!things are so much easier said then done instead of being so mean sand rude be so negative ...just say a prayer for others!! Takes money to get just about anything done its not so easy to jus pack up and move esp if that family has no help from anyone I jus wonder that the ones that have said such negative mean words has ever went hungry ?or worried about your electric bill ?rent bill??or What your going to feed your kids or your son daughters shoes are worn and tore kids can b mean and make fun of other kids !!so please it doesn't take fee seconds to ask God to Bless these people... Have any of you ever worried about bills like that and honestly have Noway paying or done without so your kids could eat watch them cry because other kids laughing at them? Or wake up Christmas morning no tree no gifts ?!!it happens right here in Americas back yards and iv been there I struggle and I'm raising my gr son and gr daughter off a veterans widowers pension that isn't much even tho my yards clean my homes clean I still struggle do without I worri so much at times I can't sleep .so next time u decide to say something mean and judgmental....just please say as prayer.
I understand wear your coming from.. i personally no the last guy he lives in kimball WV everyone calls him WIZ.. i have met him a dozen times and yes he could pick up the garbage and trash in the yard and that blue trailer could use some paint maybe i'll bring some up to them i live in the area of each of the people you see in this video but the last guy has plenty of money he could take better care of himself believe me i personally know 100 percent that he has enough money to fix his house up and put food on the table every day...
Poverty seems to exhaust and strip people of hope. Cleaning trash off a lawn isn't a priority when you are trying to figure out where your next meal is coming from. There but for the grace of God go I.
not being mean but they could at less up there yard and clean there house a little better iam from west Virginia and I raised not to live like that I was to be clean and not lazy there no sense being lazy and being nasty and dirty like that
You mean to tell me all those kids can't pick that up in one day I wouldn't tell anybody I live there that just shows you how plain lazy people can be that's really sad I don't mind helping somebody else when they help themselves
May God continue to bless you Kingdom First Missions for what you are doing for the people of McDowell county your doing Father Gods work God Bless you all
Idk how I got here but did ANYONE see what’s behind tree 🌲 at 7:25 watch it breathe and walk away from behind that tree on the top left corner of the screen!?!?! I wonder if those beings have anything to do with why people leave? 🤔
It is one thing to be poor, but it is another thing to be trashy poor. I feel bad for the people that don't have nothing, but since they don't work-hardened about cleaning up their yards and make McDowell look better. My Mama lives in McDowell still but by no means does her home look like that. She cleans her house and keeps her yard looking nice. Landscaping makes a major difference in how others view your home.
I agree, all those bike's and toys laying around that someone gave them no respect for others or themselves..please don't give toys teach them to love God and them they may love each other enough to clean up!!
It seems that some folks were trying to raise funds for what appears to be a noble cause. This is intergenerational poverty which has and is being perpetuated by liberals. President Trump is going to make people work in order to receive any type of assistance. This will increase self esteem and morale of the folks collecting entitlements (In WV and all across the country). I live in this wonderful State with great people who, in most cases, have a tremendous work ethic. By the way, all states have similar downtrodden sections.
WV is the same in the cities as it is in the surrounding counties just more people in places like charleston but its only population we are the same people
This is learned helplessness. There's no excuse for living in filth. Pick up your trash, recycle, and ckean up your yard. This is sheer laziness and learned behaviors passed down from generation to generation. Break the cycle!!!!! (Yes, I can say this. I live in WV. I don't live this way.)
This is intense poverty. These people are just trying to survive. I don't know the solution but I always pray for the poor and hungry of this world. We've always had the poor and we'll always have them until Jesus sets up His kingdom again. We store up our treasures in heaven. If they're believers, this is the worst they'll experience on this earth until they get to heaven. I assume that you all witness the good news to them. One of my family members was from McComas, WV so I know they're good people as are the people of WV. God bless everyone in WV. 🕊️🌾🐑🙏
My mama was from WV,she'd say,"You can be poor but you don't have to be dirty." Pick up the trash, you've got water clean up.
There is always hope if you got water and soap
My Mom says the same thing...also says a bar of soap costs next to nothing, there’s no reason someone should stink!
I've always said theres a creek some where to wash your behind. No sense in going around dirty.
Your mama had a good message. Poverty, though, is such a strain on mental health, and some just cannot “stand tall” in the midst of the struggle. Thankfully, ministries such as this precious one, stand in the gap and extend compassion without judgment. Our world needs more of that. 🙏🏻💖

I would be ashamed for my yard to look that way 😕!
thank you for helping these people in need, god loves you
This saddens me and makes mad too. I've lived in northern west virginia all my life and I love our
state but like everyone else I just live pay check to paycheck.
God bless this program and that deserves to be recognized, god bless that family
im in tears God bless you guys!
the political parties need to travel the back roads in this country and help the American people
The backroads and inner cities need so much help, it's saddening. Generational poverty.
West Virginia such a beautiful state and people are too. My mom and dad grew up there sky, Gusti, West Virginia
Pick up all the garbage and it wouldn't look that bad
I think your mission would have been a blessing to the neighbors and the community if you had helped them clean up the yard. Yikes, what a mess!
Praise God thank you for helping out less fortunate I'm about the same way I don't have running water I do have electric I don't have a bathroom I have an hour house I struggle everyday my roof leaks me and my poor little Chihuahua we do have an AC thanks to my grandma I live on her property spending our family over 100 years
That guy is wayyy too worried about that camera exploiting these people
D P
At least he is helping..what are you doing,To help the poor?..
at least the kids are happy and its not exploitation..he's a Samaritan with a heart.
The writing on the wall for the coal industry was there since the 80s. WV should have diversified
Capitalism has failed . AI going to force all to re-invent a new way of life
While I partly agree it is pretty difficult to diversify if you put your money one mereley one horse. Tourism perhaps, I mean sightseeing wise the region seems lovely.
This was commented on before. Pick up your trash. That is the epitome of laziness. I know they have free trash service there. No excuse to live in such filth.
Cannot believe I grew up in McDowell.... Crazy!! Never going back!!
I have not been in Mcdowell County since the mine in coalwood shut down. Things have changed a lot.
God bless those who helped those poor people. God has been talking to me about moving to Appalachia to help however I can.
A problem in rural areas is where to put your trash once you have collected it in plastic bags. Not every county has free trash collection facilities.
Please post this mission's info on your socailmedia sources to help spread the word about their efforts. Pray about supporting their mission and help as the Lord leads you to do so. ✨🙏✨ Thank you and may the Lord richly bless ALL of you!
Why do you wanna bet you’ll see half of that stuff thrown around in the yard if you come back in 10 minutes people like that has no respect
Wow. I first thought a tornado had missed the house. :o
YOU ARE NOT HELPING THEM BY GIVING THEM MORE TO THROW IN THE YARD IN A WEEK OR SO.
Time are tough clean up, fix the things that aren't trash sell some of it do something to help yourselves. It could be worse.
Why do you have to trash up your yard? They are trash. Period. You don't have to live like that even if you are poor. She looks 55, not 37. There is no future in McDowell county. You either leave or you deal with it how it is.
wvjon75 thats what doing drugs makes you look like. We have a HUGE problem with drugs in West Virginia.
Where exactly is McDowell County? Is it close to hwy 19?
Southern WV. Along Highway 52 and some parts of 19
I delivered for FedEx in McDowell county and I have seen some jaw dropping living conditions.
What area do you think is the poorest? Area of McDowell was the jaw dropping to deliver to?
Oof I Live here and my house looks nothing like that
They are really caving in. Scary to have to live like that. Sad.
Damn, cant anyone posting here spell correctly?
Including you? “Can’t “
oldman baller50 got em lol
they could enough to clean there yard and pick up there a yard a little not being lazy and dirty and nasty not all people from wv are like that k
Yes. Learn to spell and type before you speak down on others.
Are US local bodies responsible for that?
+Michael Perry Why doesn't he do better then?
What? To poor to pick up trash?
@Nick Goins What? When you don't care enough to pick up trash you don't care enough to try to better yourself!
God bless.
Just do a little cleaning everyday and before you know it its all done!
That makes me 😢🙏💓
There are places in Southeast Kentucky that are just like this
Poverty seems to exhaust and strip people of hope. Cleaning trash off a lawn isn't a priority when you are trying to figure out where your next meal is coming from. There but for the grace of God go I.
Tear jerker, glorious outcomes 😀
C'mon....clean That junk up. Get ya a big burn pile going. Poor's one thing, dirty is another. Ain't no shame in being poor. Shame on the mess.
McDowell Co North Carolina mountains over here
U r awesome
Whats the trash all over the place about?
not being mean but they could at less up there yard and clean there house a little better iam from west Virginia and I raised not to live like that I was to be clean and not lazy there no sense being lazy and being nasty and dirty like that
Learn to speak & write in English!!! And spell!!!
@@florencevangeri8640 he got a point regardless the grammer
I stunned and I dont know what to say....
I lived in the surrounding area for 20 years that damn mess in and around the property is bullshit pure laziness!!!!!
Where I visited, trash removal cost money.
Did you know Bert and Opal Lester? They had 9 kids.
THEY NEED TO LEARN HOW TO HELP THEMSELVES.........
YOU CAN BE POOR N CLEAN AT THE SAME TIME PICK UP YOUR TRASH
You had 666 subscribers. I could let that be. You're welcome
About as sorry as it gets.
Looks a lot like right here in Maine.
Being poor doesn’t mean you have to trash the area you live in. Clean up your land and the price of real estate may go up.
Such Angles Kingdom First 🙏
It must suck being poor in a 2 story house. I wish I was this poor when I lived in Southeast Asia.
I agree, all those bike's and toys laying around that someone gave them no respect for others or themselves..please don't give toys teach them to love God and them they may love each other enough to clean up!!
Musical montage intro finally ends around 6:00
don't fooled that water source is cold, clear and far surpasses bottled water
God promised that the meek shall inherit the earth. I hope and believe that people like these will be there
This is intense poverty. 🕊️🌾🐑🙏
