When I asked the machine shop if it was possible to bore my 5.7 block to fit 6.1 pistons they told me it wasn't possible. How was your able to get it done?
A bunch of people have done it. I just search it up in forums and such. Apparently a 5.7 with a 4.055 bore still has thicker walls than a 6.1 with 4.090 bore
@@themojogt chat forums is where I've looked an most point towards it not being possible. Because it would mean boring the block out like .080 over. Don't want over heating problems I think imma go a different route
@@richardgarris9305 well, I guess I’m an anomaly 😂 I’m gonna eagle head swap this when I throw it back together and keep running it. I’ll keep posting about it when I do.
sheesh 3000gt headbolts are like 87ft-lbs final torque for an SL and like 102ft-lbs for a vr-4. 40 ft-lbs sounds oddly low Different engine I know but you talking even more combustion pressures acting across the head and gasket..Maybe it having more bolts to distrubute the force is the difference i dunno.
Good
40ftlbs +90degree = around 95ftlbs according to reignited site guy.
Great video bro. Where did u get the book you’re using at ?
Just snagged it off ebay
Why wen i look up i get a different torque for oil pan ?

I know right... It's a total different world with these compared to the 3000GTs.
