I spend a lot of time productively procrastinating. I plan one huge project then while it looms over my session I fix up little things around old builds or sometimes even completely tear out smaller factories and rebuild them. Anything yo avoid the big one until I've built up enough energy to do it
I'll finish a section of a large build then go back and start walling in old factories..... Currently I have floating platforms everywhere. I'm totally function over form. Not creative in the least but lol
I've recently hit the stage where I can start producing radio control units and supercomputers. But I just couldn't find it in myself to stick to building the project. I even took a break and automated filters and even that didn't help the overwhelming feeling. I took a look around and honestly saw why. All of my factories are nothing but floating platforms stacked on each other. I was missing one of the greatest things that the game has, it's building system. Now I'm going around and beautifying my grey concrete bricks and I'm feeling so refreshed. I got too hung up on the automation. Take a breath and do some decorating, it can really make a difference!
Tip - if you're exhausted by the enemies while exploring, turn on passive mode. It's a client setting, so even with friends, it will only affect you. Plus, it doesn't disable achievements.
Best tip: build small. I ruined my first save when I overproduced stuff and broke a fuse. I never got around to fix it. I was using only coal power and ran out of coal nodes. The whole process to fix it would have taken hours. I started again with 1.0 and I am on tier 4 of the space elevator the first time. I am using satisfactorytools not to overproduce. I am building supercomputers next and feeling bored and overwhelmed again though. Game is addictive though and if you take too long break I am afraid it would take time to introduce myself again how my factory even work. That is why I am using signs and color codes everywhere telling what I am producing, how much and even why if I quit and restart again..😅
Great video, and timely. Hit tier 9 on a second run-through, and just had to stop. The effort to do that last bit is tremendous. I appreciate your words and perspective.
I've joined with friends, we had big plans, and I was left executing them for months. When they came back, of course the game had progressed beyond their understanding. I really tried my best waiting for them! Go ahead, they said... So I got really good at building beautiful, early game builds with minimal progression. I'm kind of a pro at what I call Bonzai Builds.
I found myself jumping around between multiple projects and exploring, which was a nice change of pace xD Rights now I am mixing some visible belts with logistics floors, which in my opinion just meets the golden middle between clean and busy xD
I constantly keep finding myself blowing stuff up as a little treat. Made a production line? Big boom. Completed a milestone? Big boom. Completed a weapons factory? Bigger boom. Added uranium to a nobelisk? Biggest boom
Using some mods like the liquid compressor and modular load balancers have really helped with building giant bases as I can make 10 mk2 pipes full of water be transported using only 1 mk2 pipe. It also doesn't feel too overpowered as you need to use machines to compress or pressurise the liquid which adds another step in your production chain. I also recommend the curve mod which allows you to build curves much easier, very useful when making bridges and roads.
Thanks for the tip. I simply gave up when tried to make my own blueprint of a curved railroad. Wasted the whole day. I wonder why curved platforms are not in the base game when railroads have curves.
About satisfactory plus and mods in general: S+ is still not compatible with 1.0, but people are working on it. Many other mods are already updated to the current version of the game
Wow i just learn that exploding rebar just like RPG🗿 ill research it later. About the factory, i feel like if we just wanna do something big with bare minimum planning, the outcome will be worst & just wasting time. The biggest nightmare is logistic 🗿. Not everything can be solved with train, it just make the logistic more daunting(except you have thorough planning about the path)
I’m not bored but stuck. I’m wanting to make 5 Radio Control Units per minute but I need quartz, oil, copper, iron, and that’s gonna be a huge project to do. Also, I got nuclear, I think I’ll just do that in the meantime, because, for some reason nuclear problems are my favorite.
I think exploration is the best in the midgame, where you only have your xeno-basher and blade runners. Every creature provides a challenge but is fair. When you start to unlock alternate weaponry, it becomes way too easy. Stun rebar, explosive rebar, nukes... any of these 3 completely trivializes combat.
So you think that fighting radioactive alpha hog with xeno-basher is fun and fair? You said in mid-game and nukes are not mid game. Next question is how much is explosive rebar balanced, but without jetpack it definetly is 😀
@@podtrh Yeah it's fair, just a bit long to kill. So not that fun but thankfully they're not in most biomes. Yes, nukes are not midgame, that's why I said it was the most fun in midgame. Explosive rebar is nobelisk on a stick, so free 50 area damage, definitely one of the best weapons in the game.
Right now i didn’t build a factory Just some small constructors to make Solid bio fuel But i unlocked the chainsaw, got some mycelium and got a parachute Now I use it for exploring
Been playing (not all the time) back when it came out. I have never finished the Game. I get board/overwhelmed like now with 1.0 I am on Tier 9 and I'm not going to finish it because I don't want to build a Mega base to finish the game. I Now have a SMALL build and only 24,000 mega watts got me here. I think the most I have ever used at 1 time was 20,000 mw at the end of Tier 8.
Me either. I hate building megabases like everyone else seem to be doing. I don’t want to ruin nature and choose to build around it whenever possible. The whole lore of the game gets depressing in the end too..
Why do people need OTHER PEOPLE to tell them to stop doing something they don't enjoy... Honestly the lack of self awareness these days is like an epidemic
The hole Arcitectur Stuff has ruined the Game ! in the beginning it was Fun to bulid and explore .. i have hoped the Tier Thing is bigger and there is a real Challange but it was a sad Ending so much Time and only 1 last Tier ? Why ?

thats me when it comes to remodeling for more efficient or tidy belts or layouts.

I don’t really get bored, I can’t get past Tier 4 because I keep tearing down my builds and doing them over 😀
This^

Great video. 1500 hours in and the beginning of your video finally sold me on rebar gun. Subscribed.

@@TaijaT76 The mod is called curve builder which adds a new build mode with curves and you can customise the angle it curves at so it is really good.

Or get the boombox

Don't feel obligated to complete the next step right now, focus on the journey not the destination.
Im taking a break after my power station project, which im now making over 525,000MW burnout is real lol.

Satisfactory Plus mod was broken by the 1.0 release. I don't see any evidence that it's being worked on.
If you go on next
I start something big (like 1500 crude oil to 4500 rubber factory) give up and play something else
I hate piping in this game, easily overwhelming, I try to keep all building minimal now
@TaijaT76 its also the weird math lf this recipe. Thats my bigger Probleme
10:05 who hurt you? lol.
