I just said he was a great returner. One of FSU's best corners, yes. but he's not as good as Xavier Rhodes. Big hits are great, but he was a very undisciplined tackler, he got beat in coverage more than we'd like because his height, and again, undisciplined play. Not gonna argue with his return ability though, he was an all-time great there. So far though his replacement @ CB has done very well, and his replacement @ PR already has two TD returns.
He was FSU's best returner look at his stats, he led the nation in yards per punt return in 09'. Either way, it was still a significant loss for FSU. He was one of FSU's best corners just take a look at the hits he has made in his past games......and returns, he was a hell of a player for FSU. A lot of FSU fans are just mad his dumbass got kicked off the team, so they bash him down to make it seem like he wasn't a huge impact at FSU when indeed he was.
Me and my broseph are FSU fans and got tickets last minute right in the middle of the UF section. The turd fans were actually pretty cool, especially this 80 year old guy who said he's been coming to the uf/fsu game for 30 years. After the game he shook my hand and my bros hand and welcomed us to come to Gainesville for last years game. There was only 1 drunk idiot, but he wasn't belligerent, just sloppy. It let me know that there actually are some respectable UF fans.
Reading the comments I think we need to be fair to both teams. What UF was experiencing last year is what FSU experienced the past 5 years: great talent and no direction. UF will always be competitive and FSU should be as well. I think FSU will have the edge simply because they are 1 more year into the program than UF. It won't be a rout like this one, but still gonna pull for my 'Noles.

It's essentially the same Canes team, minus two best corners with Brandon Harris leaving and on offense, Jacory is STILL there...making terrible reads and doesn't have Hankerson anymore...who Xavier Rhodes shut down anyway. There is no reason to think Miami will win other than false optimism and blantant homerism, which you seem to have a copious amount of.
@MrGatorHater9 Best RB group in the nation? We have all our guys back from last year that collectively rushed for 1,862 yards (averaging 6.1 yards/carry) with the number 1 RB class coming in. Check out rivals position rankings.....not to mention arguably one of the top classes. Plus 18 returning starters. FSU is just getting warmed up. The couple of position rankings from the preseason magazines that I've seen, FSU was top 10......didn't see UF anywhere.
@ITzWINT3R he sucks in weises offense too. have you seen his spring stats? he is a peice of crap QB. put in driskel at least he can run and that will get him some experience. but we beat all the good florida teams not just florida. and we are gonna beat you guys worse next season. we have 8 running backs that will get significant carries each. @gatornation321 BTW. Bobby Bowden didn't quit, FSU basically said you can stay on with very little say about what's going on with the football program or retire. Bobby was a great coach, but on my Degree it says nothing about Bobby Bowden and everything about Florida State University. He was big, but not bigger than the school. It was time for a change and it was the worst thing that coulda happend for Miami and UF, as FSU is no longer on "auto-pilot" and are now an actual threat in Florida.
@gatornation321 No program in college football NEEDS players, but in the same token, no program wants to lose arguably the best player on their entire team either, regardless if it's injury or stupidity that takes him out. Jenkins was a great player and defintely added a boost to a young UF Secondary. UF has alot of "talented" players, but just like FSU, most are young underclassmen and unproven at this point.

Will Weis be able to even run a competent offense? Will Brantely perform with all the expectations? Will Weis give the keys to Driskel (True Freshman). Does Muschamp run the defense or trust one of his assistant coaches to do that? How does a young secondary perform without Janoris? UF has ?'s in every facet of their game do they not?

If EJ's spring game was shitty, then Brantley's sucked the big one. And if FSU is as bad as you think and UF got dominated by them and South Carolina who lost to FSU then you're up for a long season. Six months ago he thought about transferring to get the hell out of that dismal situation. You need to hope that Brantley even starts and has the personnel around him to run the pro-style attack.
You're right......we won't know....just like we have seen four 5 stars and nine 4 stars leave UF's top classes since 2009. We know they won't be playing for UF. Show me where I called EJ my "elite" QB. All I said was he is a more complete runner and passer than Brantley and I'd rather have EJ as my starter than Brantley. EJ Manuel = Better passer, better runner, and better leader.

The last 4-6 years of Bobby Bowden's tenure were filled with terrible coaching (the defense didn't even have a playbook) and bad preparation. It truly was the "lost decade". Now to be fair UF was REALLY good during those years so I won't say it would have been totally different. However what your seeing now is what good coaching can accomplish with a top tier recruiting class. FSU is no fluke.

"FSU is 1-6 in the past 7 years to UF." That's true. It's also true that in the 7 year span before that FSU was 5-2. FSU 14-12 against UF in the past 25 years. Under Bobby Bowden FSU is 18-17-1. UF does lead 33-20-2 all-time, due to an impressive 9 win streak in the late 60's to mid 70's. 1958-1976 is really where UF padded their lead. But UF also had a football program long before FSU and occasionally they would still get beat by a nobody FSU team that had very little funding or fan base.

@ITzWINT3R FSU has been rebuilding for the past few years (I know, it shouldn't take this long, but for some odd reason, it has). Remember when FSU always finished in the top 5? Always had a shot at the national title? Always had 10 win seasons? Always won bowl games? THAT is what we were used to.... until Jeff Bowden screwed that up. Ponder may be gone but guess what.... the whole rest of our offense returns... including every player that scored points against Florida. I'll be expecting an ass kicking..... but it will be FSU delivering it again this year just like we did last year. Our coaching problems are over. FSU has an offense AND a defense now. Get used to losing to us again.

In the second half, FSU took their foot off UF's neck and showed them mercy. Our new quarterback? He won us 2 bowl games already, so he's got enough experience for us. @fedruiz you may have never specifically said it, but everyone on here is acting like fsu is going to start dominating the series based on one bad loss. and ya, 60 yeards summed up our offense under adazzio. even last year we struggled mightily under him, Tebow and having a great defense bailed us out to a 13-1 record. there were a ton of teams that could beat us this year with adazzio's horrible offense, ill be the first one to admit it.

@parquar Do YOU realize that although UF is having a bad year, they lost to an FSU team that outplayed them on both sides of the ball. Terrible play calling doesn't cause FSU defenders to force fumbles and make interceptions. Saying that FSU won because UF is bad, is like saying that the ONLY reason UF won the last 6 is because FSU was bad (which they were, but it was also because UF was a better team). Give credit where credit is due, FSU wanted it more, executed better, and soundly beat UF.
@noleEagle92 And just to let you know, yall may have the #1 recruiting class THIS year, but LAST YEAR, UF had the #1 recruiting class..like Cody Riggs, Sharif Floyd, etc. They are now Soph and will have starting positions this year. As for the Criminoles, I highly doubt that most of the recruits will get any playing time this year. Oh and we got Driskell(#1 QB)
@blackjack779 Agree, he couldn't take the heat. We finished him in Doak. You won't see another 6 game streak like Florida had again. Bobby needed to go but since he made our program and was the best Coach ever it was hard for us to realize his time had past. The lost decade is over though and won't happen again.
@blackjack779 Mike Harris is also a guy that can be counted on to make a play or three this season I would think. Along with Lamarcus Joyner now at Saftey and Nick Waisome will probably see time strictly in the Nickle, as he is nowhere ready from a physical standpoint, to take on the position at Boundry Corner.

Xavier Rhodes is by far the better CB. Just ask anyone who knows about football. He was a great punt returner. Great vocal leader. Solid corner. He would've been the 3rd best DB on our team this year AT BEST. He wan't even a top 5 defender for us last year.

I just said he was a great returner. One of FSU's best corners, yes. but he's not as good as Xavier Rhodes. Big hits are great, but he was a very undisciplined tackler, he got beat in coverage more than we'd like because his height, and again, undisciplined play. Not gonna argue with his return ability though, he was an all-time great there. So far though his replacement @ CB has done very well, and his replacement @ PR already has two TD returns.
He was FSU's best returner look at his stats, he led the nation in yards per punt return in 09'. Either way, it was still a significant loss for FSU. He was one of FSU's best corners just take a look at the hits he has made in his past games......and returns, he was a hell of a player for FSU. A lot of FSU fans are just mad his dumbass got kicked off the team, so they bash him down to make it seem like he wasn't a huge impact at FSU when indeed he was.
Me and my broseph are FSU fans and got tickets last minute right in the middle of the UF section. The turd fans were actually pretty cool, especially this 80 year old guy who said he's been coming to the uf/fsu game for 30 years. After the game he shook my hand and my bros hand and welcomed us to come to Gainesville for last years game. There was only 1 drunk idiot, but he wasn't belligerent, just sloppy.
It let me know that there actually are some respectable UF fans.
Reading the comments I think we need to be fair to both teams. What UF was experiencing last year is what FSU experienced the past 5 years: great talent and no direction. UF will always be competitive and FSU should be as well. I think FSU will have the edge simply because they are 1 more year into the program than UF. It won't be a rout like this one, but still gonna pull for my 'Noles.

It's essentially the same Canes team, minus two best corners with Brandon Harris leaving and on offense, Jacory is STILL there...making terrible reads and doesn't have Hankerson anymore...who Xavier Rhodes shut down anyway. There is no reason to think Miami will win other than false optimism and blantant homerism, which you seem to have a copious amount of.

We have all our guys back from last year that collectively rushed for 1,862 yards (averaging 6.1 yards/carry) with the number 1 RB class coming in. Check out rivals position rankings.....not to mention arguably one of the top classes. Plus 18 returning starters. FSU is just getting warmed up.
The couple of position rankings from the preseason magazines that I've seen, FSU was top 10......didn't see UF anywhere.

@gatornation321 BTW. Bobby Bowden didn't quit, FSU basically said you can stay on with very little say about what's going on with the football program or retire. Bobby was a great coach, but on my Degree it says nothing about Bobby Bowden and everything about Florida State University. He was big, but not bigger than the school. It was time for a change and it was the worst thing that coulda happend for Miami and UF, as FSU is no longer on "auto-pilot" and are now an actual threat in Florida.

Jenkins was a great player and defintely added a boost to a young UF Secondary. UF has alot of "talented" players, but just like FSU, most are young underclassmen and unproven at this point.

The last 4-6 years of Bobby Bowden's tenure were filled with terrible coaching (the defense didn't even have a playbook) and bad preparation. It truly was the "lost decade". Now to be fair UF was REALLY good during those years so I won't say it would have been totally different. However what your seeing now is what good coaching can accomplish with a top tier recruiting class. FSU is no fluke.

"FSU is 1-6 in the past 7 years to UF." That's true. It's also true that in the 7 year span before that FSU was 5-2. FSU 14-12 against UF in the past 25 years. Under Bobby Bowden FSU is 18-17-1. UF does lead 33-20-2 all-time, due to an impressive 9 win streak in the late 60's to mid 70's. 1958-1976 is really where UF padded their lead. But UF also had a football program long before FSU and occasionally they would still get beat by a nobody FSU team that had very little funding or fan base.

We bring it up for one reason: It's the most recent game played. As in, lately, FSU owns the rivalry because we won the last game. Ponder may be gone but guess what.... the whole rest of our offense returns... including every player that scored points against Florida. Umm the score WAS one sided. Florida State scored many times, but UF only scored once. FSU had UF beat at the end of the half. In the second half, FSU took their foot off UF's neck and showed them mercy. Our new quarterback? He won us 2 bowl games already, so he's got enough experience for us. @jcmojo91 our defense was still good, and that helped keep it from games being worse. and our lack of offense was exposed against a rejuvinated fsu team on their home field. ive never tried to take away from the win, but i find it ridiculous how so many fsu fans think that now they are going to dominate the rivalry. it was an impressive win, but dont get unrealistic. first of all, it's going back to The Swamp next year. also, addazio is out, and a lot of our new players will have a year under

@jcmojo91 ya, and Florida won 5 SEC Championships during that time, and a National Championship over fsu. fsu has sucked ass (for their standards) coming into this season except for their trip to the orange bowl i believe it was a few years ago. fsu won more games, but Florida was still a very good program. and thats not even my point anyway. fsu fans are saying their going to dominate the series now after a blowout win over us in which a lot of teams would have beaten us.
@fedruiz you may have never specifically said it, but everyone on here is acting like fsu is going to start dominating the series based on one bad loss. and ya, 60 yeards summed up our offense under adazzio. even last year we struggled mightily under him, Tebow and having a great defense bailed us out to a 13-1 record. there were a ton of teams that could beat us this year with adazzio's horrible offense, ill be the first one to admit it.
@fedruiz haha your insults are based on assumptions and not intelligence. ill try not to make this comment too long for you to read. and ya i can talk about the past because that is "owning" the series. ya it was a dominating win, but that doesnt mean all of a sudden you guys own the series now. thats why i point back to those 6 six straight wins, because that is "owning" the series. quite frankly the six meetings before were merely a tune-up for our post-season resume.

This may be a good time to point out that almost all of the FSU team from this year that crushed Florida is coming back next year.... including all the players that scored touchdowns. We'll be without Ponder, a lineman, and I think only 2 starters on defense.... but almost the entire team is coming back. Next year, look for FSU to give UF yet another beating like this one.

@parquar Do YOU realize that although UF is having a bad year, they lost to an FSU team that outplayed them on both sides of the ball. Terrible play calling doesn't cause FSU defenders to force fumbles and make interceptions. Saying that FSU won because UF is bad, is like saying that the ONLY reason UF won the last 6 is because FSU was bad (which they were, but it was also because UF was a better team). Give credit where credit is due, FSU wanted it more, executed better, and soundly beat UF.
@noleEagle92 And just to let you know, yall may have the #1 recruiting class THIS year, but LAST YEAR, UF had the #1 recruiting class..like Cody Riggs, Sharif Floyd, etc. They are now Soph and will have starting positions this year. As for the Criminoles, I highly doubt that most of the recruits will get any playing time this year. Oh and we got Driskell(#1 QB)
@blackjack779 Agree, he couldn't take the heat. We finished him in Doak. You won't see another 6 game streak like Florida had again. Bobby needed to go but since he made our program and was the best Coach ever it was hard for us to realize his time had past. The lost decade is over though and won't happen again.
@blackjack779 Mike Harris is also a guy that can be counted on to make a play or three this season I would think. Along with Lamarcus Joyner now at Saftey and Nick Waisome will probably see time strictly in the Nickle, as he is nowhere ready from a physical standpoint, to take on the position at Boundry Corner.

Yes...outrecruited. Your #12 class has gone south after Blakely left and FSUs was #1 last year....we too have 10 commits with two 5 stars and five 4 stars.....UF has zero 5 stars. And UF defense is like a sieve and you lost your best CB because he loved weed more.

Xavier Rhodes is by far the better CB. Just ask anyone who knows about football. He was a great punt returner. Great vocal leader. Solid corner. He would've been the 3rd best DB on our team this year AT BEST. He wan't even a top 5 defender for us last year.
