Finally! I've been looking for an indepth vid on this chest rig. The inclusion of the bib, plate pocket, and ability to attach a pack, reminds me a lot of the Eagle Industries RRV.
YES thank you! I've been trying to tell all these hot boy clout chasers that running a chest rig directly mounted to a pack (mostly haley's) is ridiculous. This and molle-ing on a pack to your rear plate bag....You're going to be working on your own 95% percent of the time; the other 5% you're going to feel too dumb to ask a buddy to retrieve whatever it is thats in your pack... Its far more prudent to have a separate pack you can don and doff painlessly so you can get your shit yourself.
Same with hydration. Used to like the idea of having my camelbak mounted on my plate carrier, that is until i tried it the first time i went on a field op and found out how much of a pain in the rear it is to have your buddy try to figure out how to dismount/mount it how you had it and stow/unstow the straps when doffing body armor
Exactly! I never understood why everyone did that, especially when I saw a Joe take off his kevlar and and plate carrier just to REFILL WATER. What's even worse is when they have a larger pack and they cant take it off when going in and out vechs so they cant even sit properly
Dont feel bad for showing expensive gear, anything worth having usually includes a price to match.....then again value is always in the eye of the beholder. .... Lucas botkin did the vid on quad nods to flex on EVERYONE hahahaha 😆🤣
30 years ago i was playing with chest-born pouches when there was nothing much to choose from. i think it is worth the experiment. so what, in your opinion, is the real benefit in this setup as opposed to just a plain-jane generic plate carrier, covered in molle, and pouching it up front and back to your liking? weight? or the ability to dump plates?
In this instance, if the layout works for you, you get the benefit of overall weight reduction as no attachment system is needed, arguably some strength increase for the same reason, potentially cost savings, and the ability to have everything ready to go whether you need armor or not. That last one is pretty cool IMO as you can retain the decision of armor or not all the way up to the very last second of planning.
Can you mount this pack, on this chestrig, with using the crye yoke? Like connecting at the shoulders and down to a clip for example on the rig? Thanks in advance!
Awesome video. Man i can't make a decision now. Was initially looking at the avs harness and the plate bags which come out to 600. Now im thinking an avs harness and this chest rig. Total comes to 750 but you do get all the additional pouches. Do you feel like this holds the front and side plates well or do they move a lot when running?
@@EODFish awesome! Thanks for the response. I already have a PC so this could make a solid backup/recce kit. Last question, whats the fit with AK mags? 1 or 2 per pouch?
hey, im on the fence with what pack to get for my crye avs. ive seen youve reviewed alot of them. im thinking about getting the arbor arms tradesman, shaw pcp, or crye avs 1000. which one do you recommend overall? thanks
Recently just picked up a harness and 1000 pack. My biggest concern would be space for soft armor. Anyone have experience with using soft armor with plates?
So you didn’t really watch it? I added shoulder pads that I already had on hand. Also, your K19 aside from being the literal hipster option of the tactical realm, is $219+ and only holds plates. Total up, realistically, the cost of the pouches attached and get back to me.

Exactly. It’s like a fixed configuration RRV but much lighter construction.
Seems like a solid set up for short range recce and sustained combat

you gotta admit the molle on backpacks look super cool tho lol
@@GooninRaccoonin Source has hydration adapters that let you backfill through the tube. I like them, personally.
@@mahbuddykeith1124 I made a longass list of little shit like this to buy for ppl during xmas. Top of the list is the bladder refill dingus.

Wrap the shoulder straps in the ferro concepts should pad socks.
Solid tip. I hadn’t really explored an option for that as this was more a proof of concept than anything. I’ll eventually get it setup right.

Amazing video man. Can you fit a 7.62x51 magazine in the mag pouches ?
I’ll check.
did you check@@EODFish

The avs chest rig really needs the avs yoke or avs harness to unless you rig up the avs1000. With the yoke, the avs 1000 pack mounts well.

It does a very good job of holding the plates. Perhaps not as well refined as a true plate bag but certainly good enough.

No, sorry
Where is the best place to purchase a Crye Plate Carrier and the accessories/armor?
Optactical.com or aotac.com
Can you do a video of how that rig looks stuffed with gear? I dont think i can find a single example
I don’t have it anymore.
@@EODFish Dang. Thanks for the reply
I looked at this but stuck with the eagle industries rig
Which one? I am a fan of their new offerings.

I also got the crye airlite PC and was not impressed and I love crye gear. and kifaru and eagle industires.

Well hell. Now I guess I have to make that happen.
Does the chest rig take .308 magazines or just 5.56?
Anyway to access the pack without taking off your whole rig?
Not that I could figure out.
I'm going to try setting up the pack in the self access configuration and see how it all fits

Anyone have experience with using soft armor with plates?
You won’t have any issues with plate backers.
Do you think there is much weight savings going this route?
I think it does save weight, if you would have gone with something very near this layout from the get go.
can anyone tell me if the 2 GP pouches on the sides can fit a 200 round SAW ammo can?
You’re allowed to keep your prc 152s?
No
Don’t wanna flex but here’s my $2000 armor plate rig and continues to break down the prices of every component…
The price breakdown was to show that it wasn’t a flex.
"Not here to brag" casually has 2 prc 152s on the side :p lol jk
They are fake.
DUDE YOU HAVE SO MANY ADS WTF
I’m sorry, I don’t control the quantity.
So $700 and you have to add shoulder straps...I think I’ll keep my Agilite K19 tyvm
