It’s good to see you. I have seen people see fabric on the paper of mill hill kits to use a qsnap. I’m thinking about doing that because I don’t like it either. I adore the nesting places pattern. I can’t wait to see you stitch it. I hope everything goes well for your surgery.

Oh your Pandemic looks fabulous!!! And I love In Full Bloom. That pattern is totally up my alley. And I appreciate all your advice on sock knitting. I would re-cake those skeins of yarn so that you won’t have such difficulty keeping it tidy. KEEP UP ALL THAT WALKING!! And I hope the surgery goes well.

Thanks Jenny! Pandemic is very soothing to stitch ... maybe because I'm doing it in all the same thread, so there's less thinking?? The In Full Bloom came out of a magazine. If you want, I will try to figure out which one/issue. I'm definitely going to try re-caking the yarn skeins. It takes the fun out of knitting when you have to keep stopping to unravel the skein. I'm becoming quite dependent on my daily walk ... if I don't get it in, I don't feel right! I hope the surgery goes well too. Not looking forward to it, but I guess, gotta do, what I gotta do. :-) ~Katrina

Good to see you again Katrina! Your WIPs look great and I'm excited to see your progress on Deer Creek this year. My mom pulls her yarn skeins from the inside like you're supposed to and once they start collapsing, she keeps pulling to unwind the rest of the skein then creates a ball from the loose end.

Thanks for watching Kim! I love working on Mini Deer Creek, so I hope I can make lots of progress. I'd love to get one of those big ones done. :-) ~Katrina

It's nice to see you back. I enjoy your videos. I am working in a Xmas sock on 25ct gridded fabric also and find it soooo small to work on, need good light and can only work on it in the daytime. I'm not sure I'll do that again, my eyes are old, lol. I pull my yarn out from the middle all the time and it's fine until you get over half way then is a mess, I have a ball winder and rewind them into cakes and I love it that way. I hope you continue your videos, and look forward to your next one, you have enabled me into making some of the shawls you made, I love ghem.

Thanks Barb! I hear you on the 25ct. I could never even attempt it if I didn't have my Ott light and some cheater glasses. Makes me wonder how people even attempt 40 ct. 1x1. That seems physically impossible to me, LOL. So I can use my ball winder to wind the yarn? Good to know, i need to try that. I really hate that mess! The shawls are fun to knit, I need to figure out how to wear them without having them drive me nuts. I like to wear them more like cowls, but end up feeling like I spend most of the day adjusting them. Thanks for stopping by to visit!! ~Katrina

You came back!!! How did I not see this sooner????
I'm sorry you have to have surgery. I hope it goes smoothly and you recover quickly and painlessly.
If I'm being honest, I would do everything possible to avoid undoing any of that border. I think you are smart to stitch the rest and then go back.

Oh, and I take the band off the skien of yarn and unwind from the outside. It works better for me than pulling from the center.

Hey there! I have some tricks and tips for you in regards to both the pulling of yarn from the center and picking up stitches. When you feel safe enough let’s get together for a knit day. :)
