    Congrats on the move! It's so much work moving, as you said. Here's hoping the other house sells quickly! We've finally hit the spot where I can start moving back into my rooms after the paint and carpet remodel. Love your stitching! Love the Christmas ornaments! 💜💜💜

    Katrina!!! It’s been way too long since I’ve watched your videos and I apologize for that. I’m so glad you finally got to move. I could not imagine that much commuting. I’m about 5 minutes from my school. Loved seeing your WIPs. I haven’t worked on full coverage since the HAED debacle regarding the new colors. It’s made me scared of them. Which is pathetic. This is the day is so beautiful! I love those colors ❤ Your scrapbook idea is so cool! How do you mount the stitching? I really like Autumn Rules! Need to look it up. With not having watched Flosstube in years, I have missed so many popular nice designs. Oh my gosh, Winter Wienerland is so cute!!! And Starbarks. So cleaver. Also love that Winter Quaker. I don’t own any Primrose Cottage but need to! I don’t have that 2023 Shannon Christine but I do have the 2024 one that I haven’t started yet. Let me know when you start the 2023 one and maybe we can SAL it together? Let me know. No pressure. You know I have a billion projects. I love the speckling on the shawl you’re making! Who is the dyer? It’s so consistent! What is the 25 in 25? Because this sounds like something I need to do If you don’t mind my asking, how much was your cart? I need to replace my craft table and I love the look and design of your cart. Thanks for sharing a tour of your craft room :)

      Hi Kate! I really want to work on my full coverage/HAEDs, but feel like I really need to get some of these smaller pieces out of the way (esp. the lighthouses) so they aren't hanging over my head! I am using plain old ordinary double-sided tape to mount the stitching into the scrapbook ... I'm praying it will hold. I iron a piece of Pellon "stabilizer" to each one before I tape it in there. I loved stitching the Autumn Rules piece and am really hoping to fully finish it this weekend and get it hung on the wall. Yesterday I was watching someone and they showed a Christmas Rules piece by Primrose Cottage ... I might have to get that one .... later. I do like their designs. 🙂 ohhhhh ... that would be fun to do a SAL with the Shannon Christine pieces. I'll keep that in mind! I will have to look up the dyer on the yarn, I'll try to do that when I get home from work. 25 in 25: this year I put together a 24 in 24 list ... a list of 24 books, many that had been languishing on my TBR for way too many years, that I wanted to be sure to get read this year. I need to get my rear in gear, I still have 10 on there to get read. I'm thinking I'll do it again next year, although I don't know how many years I can realistically keep up-ing that number, LOL This is the workbench I bought (www.homedepot.com/p/Husky-Tool-Storage-46-in-W-Standard-Duty-Gloss-White-Mobile-Workbench-Cabinet-with-Solid-Top-Full-Length-Extension-Table-HOTC4609BJ5M/317060709) -- not cheap, BUT it was cheaper than buying base cabinets and countertop -- I also got it on sale, about $100 less than that. It is VERY heavy, but I LOVE it!! So glad you could stop by for a visit ... as always, eagerly awaiting your next video!!

      Just looked at the work bench and am worried it’s too heavy for the second floor, however we are hoping to move in the next year or so to a one story and I think it would be perfect post move. I’ll just keep the link open on my phone. Hahaha

    • @TheCraftyCataloger
      @TheCraftyCataloger 3 дня назад

      @@KatesCraftingCorner yes … it is super heavy. I can’t imagine how many brawny guys you’d have to have to heft that up stairs, and yeah, I’d be worried about the floor being strong enough to hold it. I really lucked out because when we originally looked at this house I thought my craft room was going to be in the basement, but then my husband and son decided they wanted their computers down there … they didn’t get any arguments from me. I’m thinking if I’d ended up down there I might not have been able to get the workbench.

      Hi Jacque, so glad you could stop by and see what I've been up to! I don't mind the unpacking/organizing part (the packing part stinks ...) and was really glad I had plenty of BTO so I was able to take almost a full 2 weeks off to putter around and get things settled. I'm loving my new room also ... the tool box came from Home Depot. Home Depot and Lowe's both have different variations of them (Menards has a couple, but none I seriously looked at). Home Depot seemed to be the only place that had the version with the drop-leaf top, and the drop-leaf only seems to be available in that size (which is good, I might have considered getting one size bigger and I'd have been in trouble, one size bigger would not have fit in that room). If you ever do decide to purchase, beware -- it's HEAVY (I think it weighs almost 300lbs). I originally was going to purchase it and have it delivered to the new house, but about a week before closing I noticed it was on sale, so I ended up purchasing it, and it was delivered to the old house and we had to move it. Moving and then maneuvering it into that room -- well let's just say I probably owe my husband, son and FIL a nice steak dinner or something, LOL Looking forward to your next update! 🙂

      Hi Kim ... it's hard to tell, especially since now it's blowing around, but I'm guessing we got at least 18" if not closer to 2 feet. I just looked out the window and it's snowing again ... I think this must be the lake effect snow they said we were going to get. We are usually about the tail end of that, but it's coming down pretty good. It'll be interesting to see if my husband has school tomorrow. Hope you're staying warm and not having to shovel too much!

      @TheCraftyCataloger Holy cow! We got about another 1.5" last night so total of less than 7 but hard to tell cus it's blowing now and not as wet. My new snowblower works great! Just a little sad my pup isn't here to enjoy it because she loved the snow!

    Your restart looks pretty great! It feels very fall to me. The third ball might be okay if you use it on the very ends of the shawl where the rows are the longest. It might not stripe... It might flash or pool though. Sorry, can't help with the apps. I'm an old fashioned paper girl.

    I'm impressed companies will come out to cut trees in the snow. I agree with everything you said about Dimensions kits. So pretty, but not the most fun. Also, I'm really really really really sorry if I didn't thank you appropriately for the card you sent. I love your cards so much. I've really been on the struggle bus lately and I've dropped the ball on being a good human.

      Julie ... maybe our busses will stop at the same stop so we can see each other, cause that's exactly where I've been lately as well. (I'm pretty sure you've put out about 3 videos that I haven't watched yet ... talk about feeling like a lousy friend ...) Those tree people were pretty hearty people out there cutting down that tree in the snow, but I was glad they were able to come before the big storm hit so we could sort of get things "cleaned up/organized" before we got all this snow.

I like your idea about the lighthouse pieces for your mother in law, especially if she doesn’t have a lot of wall space, and I’m sure she would enjoy the history of each lighthouse. So good to see you back!! The autumn piece is pretty! The purple bookstore house.... love the purple.. but that roof is stunning!!! I love the idea for the lighthouse book! Can't wait to see the finished shawl, and the Mrs.Claus stocking. I use Good Notes with my cross stitch patterns. I love it, the marking off stitches as I go is perfect! No paper patterns to keep track of! I too use to be get your work done before you play, but over the last few years, that has gone out the window. I think once it was just John and I in the house, I didn't have to keep up with the boys, so I now have more me time. I am so not liking Mother Nature right now! She could have spread out the "let's get Michigan back to a wintery January", over the course of the month, and not all at once in a matter of hours! I have big plans for Saturday that I don't want the winter wonderland to mess with! In GR we have 8-14" predictions, and have about 3-4 inches here right now that we got in the same time frame as you. I was happy with the green Christmas though. Happy stitching and can't wait to see your progress next time! 💜💜

      Hi Jodi ... that roof is awesome. It's amazing how each individual shingle pops right out! Yes, it does seem that Mother Nature wasn't very nice is giving us multiple months worth of winter all at once. Hopefully you aren't too buried. I think we have close to 2 feet out there, but it's hard to tell, especially now that it's started to blow around. I did venture out for church this morning. The roads weren't the worst I've ever driven on, but they weren't great either. Stay safe out there and Happy Stitching!

    Hi Katrina! Nice to see you again. I was stitching on Arc of White while we visited and I’m happy to report I’m over half way finished. I really like your lighthouse book idea for your mom. There’s a flosstuber called Stitching By The Shore, and she does paper crafting and did some tutorial videos about how to turn your cross stitch finishes into a scrapbook. What you were describing sounds just like that, so I recommend finding her channel and looking at her stitching scrapbook playlist. Let me know if you need help finding it and I will get a link. Stay safe with the incoming storm, and remember your ABC’s if you do have to go to work. 😉 Happy new year and happy stitching! -Leah

I'm going to go check out that flosstuber and hopefully figure out how to put this scrapbook together ... I really think this is what makes the most sense for these! Thankfully, they closed the library, so I didn't have to go to work and could enjoy the snow from inside!! Hope all is well with you and you're getting settled in to your new digs! I see you've had some good tips on getting a loose bind off. I'd like to add that I'll got up two needles sizes for a loose bind off. If you aren't using an interchangeable set, just put the large needle in your right hand for the bind-off. Your striping yarn with slowly stop striping as you add stitches, it'll probably start to pool in a somewhat zig-zag fashion before hitting a distribution where the colors don't line up at all. Although, it might not get to that point depending on the stitch count near the end of the shawl. It'd probably be better as socks or a hat, truthfully.

    • @TheCraftyCataloger
      @TheCraftyCataloger 11 месяцев назад

      Hi Kay! I was hoping you'd have some words of wisdom! I restarted the shawl -- twice now. I thought maybe working from the other end of the ball might help -- since there were more colors on that end. I liked it better, but it was still striping too much for my taste, so I've restarted the shawl using the white/blue/mustard speckled yarn and think I will just make the shawl with two yarns vs. three. I'm already loving the way this yarn is working up. Hopefully I can get back to where I was and beyond before it's time to do my next update!
