Living with BPD | Jon's Mental Health Story | Mind

"BPD for me is a fairly recent diagnosis, but looking back on my life , the symptoms and experiences I've had have been there for many years... I don't particularly like labels, but it's nice to know there is a reason why I feel and think the way I do.
My diagnosis was based on previous traumatic events which happened in my life which has lead me to have serious trust issues, especially with friendships and relationship, because there's always been that underlying trust issue.
For anyone watching this though, I'd like to reassure you that there is a way forward, and its not necessarily a diagnosis I'm going to live with for the rest of my life. It's possible to get the right help and the right treatment and try and open up in confidence with a friend or family member, not necessarily a professional."
