Another OUTSTANDING lecture! Sarah is absolutely AMAZING and we greatly appreciate all that she does.
Hello Ms Sarah, please can make a video on intervention for late deceleration and variable deceleration. Thank you.
I love your videos! I was so bummed to see that you didn't have any made for HELLP and preeclampsia though :(. Please consider making videos about those topics. They won't benefit me because I'm almost done with school but I'm sure it could help other nursing students!
Thanks for all your lectures Nurse Sarah! I passed my NCLEX-RN board exam last month, finally! Love you! ❤
got 90 Grade A. thank you so much
an easy way to remember it is the following:
VEAL CHOP
V (variable) C (cord compression)
E (early decels) H (head compression)
A(acceleration) O (OK)
L(late decels) P( placental insufficiency)
+Karima Rivera Thank you so much for sharing that, Karima. I love it!
Thanks
I came to the video just to look for This!
What does MINE stand for?
instead of MINE we were taught TOASt.
Turn to the left side
Ok
Acceptable
STop= Stop pitocin, Turn patient on side, O2 via face mask, Plain IV fluid increased
Either way, these little mnemonics are super helpful!
My OB teacher taught us VEAL CHOP to remember. If you write them next to each other it tells you what's going on.
V - variables ---> C - cord compression
E - Earlies ----> H - Head compression (normal)
A - Accelerations ------> O - oxygenation (baby has good oxygen)
L - Lates -----> P - placental inefficiency
Thanks for sharing.
Thank you
I know you have probably heard this many of times, but your are the icing on the cake to my nursing school studying. You make things so simple and you point out the important information. I am so blessed and grateful that I have found your channel and that you have even taken time out to help us struggling nurses to have confidence in what we love doing the most. You are a gift from heaven and I along with others are forever grateful!!
What she said....
I really aporeciate her!
FHR Patterns and significance
Name: VEAL Cause: Chop Management: MINE
V- Variable C- Cord Compression M- Move patient
E- Early h- Head Compression i- Identify labor progress
A- Acceleration O- Other (okay) N- No action needed
L- Late p- Placental Insufficiency (uteroplacental) e- Execute actions IMMEDIATELY!
Learning about his in our program right now, hope this helps! I love your vids!
V--C cord compression (variable)
E--H head compression normal (early)
A--O okay (acceleration)
L--P placenta abruption (Late)
Another OUTSTANDING lecture! Sarah is absolutely AMAZING and we greatly appreciate all that she does.
I hope you will get into teaching at a school because we need more people like you
Wow, thank you very much for your kind words! I appreciate you taking the time to leave me this comment :)
Have my first OB exam tomorrow and my professors every week have posted a video from your channel for various topics: stages of labor, fetal circulation, fetal heart rate monitoring, etc. snd it’s because of you I’ve been able to get through nursing school thus far. Can’t thank you enough for your incredible videos you’re seriously so smart and explain things in the best way possible 🙌🏻❤️
Awesome video!
An acronym that my OB Clinical instructor taught me is "Veal Chop"
Variable --> Cord Compression
Early --> Head Compression
Accelerations --> Ok
Late --> Placental Insufficiency

Thankyou Sarah! you really made things easy! I was always confused in these questions. Reading my books about this, I still seem can't quite comprehend.

Omg!!! u r just brilliant!! Have nclex in 2months and using all your videos for prep. I almost cried reading about decelerations as it didn't make any sense but how you explained in a very simplified manner I just understood it soooo well!! Thank you soo much! your way of teaching is amazing!!
Thank God for Sarah! You make everything make so much more sense-I wish you were my instructor!
You helped me get through nursing school and now you’re helping me as a labor and delivery nurse intern to better understand the monitors. Thank you so much! I wouldn’t be here if not for your videos simplifying such important information!
Great job, thanks, I just like to talk about the nursing intervention because our professors like to ask about them. Early decelerations just document because is a normal finding. In the late deceleration, we can change mom's position to help that placenta to brings more oxygen. Remember if the mom is supine, she's compressing the inferior vena caba and reposition her helps a lot in that late deceleration. Variable deceleration is find because cord compression and we can reposition the mom again(Sims position)and brings oxygen, too. Im almost ready for my ENCLEX exam, thanks for that again.
Thank you. You explain so well understand ..I struggle this for a long time
Thank you so much for continuing to help us! God bless you and your family
