My take was that Leeloo was a previous perfect being that was engineered, but she "preserved" in the statue thing at the site for the time she would need to return. They took her to keep her safe, and were returning her when it was shot down. In a way, she was imprisoned by the good guys, but she likely did so voluntarily with an almost religious reverence for them and her understanding that she's special. They didn't rebuild her into a human, but more rebuilt her from as she was when they preserved her in the statue.
yes. supposedly the mondoshawans (or whatever are the robot aliens) would restore her before using the weapon or maybe the 4 elements combined would release her. i suppose after a while to meet humanity and update on knowledge as she does trough the movie she would be restored to the statue stasis mode for the next 5000 years. maybe the mondoshawans can do a clone so leeloo lives the rest of her natural life with korben and her clone is ready for the next 5000 years in the future.

The "Bad" Aliens shot down the "Good" Aliens, who were bringing the Fifth Element (Leeloo) to Earth. They found the Gauntlet with her Hand in it, and "Rebuilt" her from her DNA.
Every time I see this I think of Demolition Man with Sylvester Stallone. It’s also a futuristic movie but not as far ahead. It also stars Wesley Snipes and Sandra Bullock. Though it’s had to imagine those three on screen together, this works so incredibly beautifully. Please consider checking out Demolition Man from 1993. You’re bound to recognize many of the actors in rolls with little screen time, they’re big names…. Including Bill Cobbs, may he rest in peace. He recently left us.

When this movie came out, it was not what I expected, at all. The marketing made it look like a totally serious sci-fi movie. I left entertained but confused, and I had to see it again later to really enjoy it. As usual, you noticed some things that I’ve never noticed before. The one that stands out is the connection between Leeloo and the Diva. It’s edited so their action is synchronized, but it never occurred to me that it makes total sense for them to be actually connected, somehow, since they are allied otherworldly creatures. Connecting this to Christian love of Christ is fascinating and not something I’ve considered before. I suppose any Hollywood savior story can probably be analogous to the gospel in some way. Thanks for sharing without preaching.
Luc Besson also did Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets (2017). A beautiful movie in the same sense of The Fifth Element. It was based on a French comic book. The leads were average but I enjoyed that movie. Prince was the first choice for the Chris Tucker character. Chris Tucker was so over the top and awesome. It is said he won't acknowledge this role and hates it. When the trailer came out Bruce Willis wasn't in it because he wasn't cast yet. I love this cast. It is sad so many have passed. Ian Holm, Tommy Lister (Friday alum with Chris Tucker) and Brion James are gone. They were good in everything.

No the fifth element is not love. Love was her MOTIVATOR to save life/the world. If Corben hadn't told her he loved her, she wouldn't have a good reason to save life after seeing how evil we are to each other.
Tend to agree with you. When the Diva was on the floor she told Corben about Leloo she said, "She needs your Help. - And your Love". She needed to feel love to understand there was something in people worth saving. (Leloo told Corben, I don't know love.) (Priest: Tell her!)
One of the BEST movies ever made!!! She remembers everything. When she woke up after being reconstructed, she was shielding herself from the explosion. She was just reconstructed from the DNA in the hand. Corbin was is retired Special Forces with a medal of honor and many other accolades. He was considered the best that they had, that is why he was "chosen".

This movie wouldn’t be as good without Chris Tucker. The director was married to the singer who played the diva (blue alien) who is a famous French singer. The Director was also having an affair with Mila during filming. The language that she speaks was created by the director and her and they would often speak to each other in it and it’s assumed that they would do so to arrange “romantic rendezvous”.
If y'all enjoyed this, there's a very similar movie by the same director, called "Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets". Based on a French comic book series, and Rihanna plays a pretty interesting role in it.
At the beginning of the film, you need to realise that it was 1914 - the start of World War 1, that's why the alien beings arrived 300 years early to rescue the stones from being stolen or damaged during the war. I think this seems to confuse many viewers/reactors.
