Germany doesn’t really need a sub tree from the other nation, especially for ground, but rather having a sub tree of corporate products that are not in Bundeswehr service, such as KF41, Leo2A7+, Strv122 etc. Air wise Swiss is fine.

I really do think subtrees are the way to go with a lot of smaller nations. there's some cool vehicles there that just have no way of getting a full tree and helping fill gaps and issues with major trees or struggle to fill an air and ground tree. There's only a few nations that could get a full unique tree without being filled with lend lease but can offer cooler post war vehicles. The biggest issue i see is the political issues (South Korean tree, Czechs, most eastern bloc nations) or starting points (does anyone like how isreal starts?) that can stop a full tree being great. War Thunder is just in a weird place for adding more trees right now but i hope they figure out a decent way of doing it. I just don't like mass copy and paste tanks (how many russian T-34 thru T-72 lines and american lend lease?) and planes that makes some nations repetitive and I think the game would benefit from not having that without them being more unique while trying to not lack options

i think the "5 line" limitation is mostly just gaijin not wanting to have to redesign the whole techtree UI. so not a hardset limit but just something they want to avoid if they can

honestly germany does not need a sub tree they really only need help at top tier. They have like the most vehicles in their tech tree and they have the best throughout the lower BR and the most complete lineups as well. they should just give them the typhoon so germany mains quit complaining and call it a day.

And No, canada should not be in the US tree just because they border the USA. China borders india but india isnt in the chinese tech tree. Also canadian vehicles are just modified american vehicles so the US doesnt need more american vehicles.
