Lutris is a great way to run & manage your third party PC game launchers like Epic, Ubisoft Connect, EA Play and their games. Works great so far in both desktop and game mode after setup.
An FYI to save you all the trouble of setting the mouse up, if you hold down the STEAM button it will allow you to use the mouse as normal without having to change any control configurations.
Unfortunately this truck does not work with the 8bitdo ultimate, as you power it down the same way you power it up, by holding the button that serves as the steam button.
Love lutris been using it for quite a number of years on my Linux PC's as I hardly ever use windows anymore. Is the same concept as heroic with more wine tricks underneath, wine is a compatibility layer for windows in the in Linux operating systems.
Lutris is really useful, they're are a couple of fan made games I want to play on my deck but not even lutris can get them to fully work I wish there was a way to fix them
I’m new to the steam deck and Lutron’s but I was wondering why I should use Lutron’s if you can run the epic games store through heroic and you can set up your game launchers like origin in steam and run it with proton to get the same effect?

@@GameTechPlanet The sd card must not be the problem because I installed Peggle to see if that would work and it booted up. So it must just be those games.
We all are received a Death stranding game. After installing a game I have only keyboard controls support in game. How to change controls on steam deck? Game don't see that we are on deck, only WSAD etc.
I can't be of direct help I'm afraid but I got the game free too and used the Heroic method and it works fine with all controls set up automatically. Good luck!👍

problem with this having only the game launcher on desktop is you can't have individual controllers settings for every game. it's universal and you have to change the controllers again when switching to another game. anyone found a way to have a steam shortcut on each game? i love lutris and i don't like to switch to heroic.

I installed Borderlands 3 this way... It won't boot when I click launch in epic, through lutris. It will say running, then stop and icon in epic will say launch again.... HELP ME!

Thanks for the video. I've had some issues using Lutris myself though to install GOG games. For one, Steam shortcuts don't launch when I use the "Add shortcut to steam" button and launch directly from game mode. It soft locks my deck. The games launch fine through Lutris on game mode and on desktop mode, but a direct steam shortcut just doesn't work. I'm not sure if this is an issue specific to GOG games. I also had to use Lutris-Wine-GE to even get GOG games installed as the default Wine runner just errors out with returning code 256. Any insight would appreciated.
Yea i have the same things happen. Its much better to use lutris as a launcher and open it first. Always works better for the most prt. I’m also change compatibility layers as need for some games or launchers. Im still learning my way around Lutris more as well and dont have any magic answers yet. But I hope to make a more indepth video on the app

Great video but one of the worst things to say in a tutorial / guide is "I'm gonna skip through this stuff because -" The whole point of users wanting a guide is so that they're sure they understand all the steps and in case they want to revisit something later.
I hear ya and I rarely will skip over anything in a tutorial. Unless its this. If its just install windows and no options pr clicks or anything rly then i dont need to waste anyones time on that if its a typical install. But I hear ya and I always try to mever leave out any information and also make the videos as short and easy to follow as I can.
I'm glad you keep the video part of it very well visible. You shouldn't have to worry about the time wasted because on RUclips people can just seek ahead and you can also put up chapters to help people skip around to the next step / navigate the overall guide in more detail. I have no qualms with the video itself, the content is great and it helped me get Lutris working 👍
League of Legends run fine on steam deck, but about 36 minute of the game i have fps drop and nothing help wit that. My friend has the same problem on deck. Installed via lutris, playing via gaming mode on TV.

Titanlfall 2 should. I play it but in steam os. Cant say i tried thru origin or ea app yet on deck but should. Origin being shutdown. I have a guide coming out for ea app whoch u can install with Lutris or Heroic

It's a setting in the controls on steam UI that's the problem. I remember reading something about having to turn it from forced to off in big screen mode. I don't know if that helps answer your question.
It would be nice if you could let us download the Lutris icon, banner & capsule banner I want that too, just like you I like it looks neat rather than blank showing nothing

So far I don’t see a way to make Xbox/Windows games work on the steam deck. The dependencies on windows OS prevents the xbox app from running on linux independently.

I do this when playing final fantasy xiv. Even when I use game pad mode in the game I can use the steam button to use a mouse.

Heroic is great why wouldn't you want to switch?

easy anti cheat games tend not to work, so unless the game has an option to launch offline without it, usually it won't work

For me, I just had to wait it out. It takes forever but it eventually loads.

After installing and running lutris for the first time. Its not launching at all. Lutris icon will briefly show on taskbar then vanish. Any help?

Yea thI default scheme isnt good but at least the changing of schemes and remapping are easy on deck

I use decky loader these days with the plugin for artwork so its easy to change on any game or app.

Steam version? No. Lutris would be for your non steam games like from Epic, Ubisoft, EA launchers etc.

Not thst i know of. Haven’t tried but be careful as genshin will ban accounts pretty easily when playing on non supported devices.
