Thank you, this is very inspiring!! I am definitely forwarding it to a lot of people, as always 😊 I do have friends and family members that I know who can do this. However, they fear they lack the communication skill and language proficiency they think the IT field requires, especially in the job market. Also, it will be great to hear from those who joined the field on the challenges they are facing as students or if they are in the job market, as employees. I think all the answers are correct. fear, doubt and its intimidating etc especially older people like me. but why is it we fear? i think its because we lack the foundational understanding , the basics of how computers help us and so on. Basically, not understanding how technology can make our lives easier.
As you said in your class, just knowing 'how' to do it is not enough. You have to know 'why'. knowing the purpose.(purposeful life)...not just use it for jobs but to start your own business like you, or to achieve your dreams (creative endeavors) . So for me , in order to take action, i say ...start by asking why should i do it? how is it going to improve "my life" and then how can i help others.
