Man!!! Is there anything you CAN'T do in music? You play the violine, you can sing - with a descent voice I have to say - you can solder electric circuitry, you can compose nice songs ... and you are able to create astounding RUclips-videos which are nice to watch, entertaining and - important - most educational. Thank you so much, once again, for the effort you put in your videos. 🤩
this entire video really impressed me...I solder studio cables and do basic fixes, but I've never built anything...this was so inspiring that I'm thinking I might actually be able to do it! And I agree with many of the other comments...great song, cool production and fine singing!
Before coming into recording and music production..I was into making circuits preamps , amplifiers and even I built my own 4track analogue recorder for my custom build studio...it's almost 25 years back or more...I still remember my custom mic preamps I built...some transistors based some FET based...you reminded everything... 🙌🙏
hi, i'm an music engineering student and I'm doing researches for my own piece of hardware I'm planning on making. Do you have anything , advice, websites ect that can help me out ? Thanks
Love my CP5 ... have mine loaded with the Royal Blue (vintage Neve) Colour module. I also have a pair of the Colour 500-Series Palette mkII loaded with Tape Saturation, Royal Blue and Implode FET Compressor which I use to add color when I do my mastering. DIYRE makes some really great stuff. For the record I always have them pre-built. Really like the vibe of your song as well. Nice video! Bought Running out the Clock. 👍
I stumbled across your channel a few months ago and have absolutely loved your content. I was so excited to find a video made by you when searching for how to build a preamp. I think I’m going to order some stuff from them in the future!
This video was Super Mega Hyper Inspiring thank you so much for sharing your music your build I will exactly fo the same and will buy exactly what you buy súper nice work congrats best regards from Mexico 🇲🇽 City.
nice! The whole process seems fun... It always feels better to make something on your own, and I got to say, even tho I would never buy a "vinage" preamp, the thought of building one seems great... My wallet is already afraid...
so for the resistors. most basic multimeters measure resistance. so for those resistors, just tap a lead to each end and it will tell you what size that resistor is. it is so much faster than a trying to decoder the color bands
I enjoyed watching the video. Question, the one you built you said the designers favorite. Where would he comparison to neve 1073 which I'm afraid. Thx.
Hi! I got one of these a while back and I’m sure that there is something wrong with it but I don’t know where to start the troubleshooting. What did you have to fix in order for it to work?? Thank you
Can I ask what brand of patch bay you are using? Mine is ok, but I may want to replace it in the future. Mine is no longer made, but the company did send me some free jack modules before they stopped manufacturing them. Thanks!
For $500 bucks it should be ready to go not DIY! I think this DIYre site is cashing in on the so called "audiophiles" where $20k for a turntable is a justifiable purchase. Those guys don't have wives.

Wow, that is awesome and must instill a little extra pride having a piece of gear in your studio that you can say you assembled yourself!

Damn the color modules are an awesome idea!
Great and professional video too :D
Great video! I have the Colour Duo which is like the big brother to the CP5 and absolutely love it

Great video. This company makes soldering look fun again.
You've got a great voice David - reminds me a bit of death cab for cutie!
wow they sound awesome! I love the song, too! kudos!
Might have to check these out and see if they ship to the uk. Your track sounded pretty cool at the end as well.

This video is so soothing
Just discovered your channel and I'm so happy. Can't wait to dive in programming some weird instruments and tinkering with electronics
You sound like one of us Limeys when you sing! Like it
Understated talent
nice!

Very cool, I will check out diyre 👍🏻
I cant believe ur printer printed red ink but you still went ahead and built it ☺
Blessings man. Great vid. Very cool indeed. Cheers.
this is an awesome video!!! Thanks for sharing this!!

Dude you went into children’s books story teller mode when you started opening the box 🤣🤣
That's a good song!
Thanks!
Sounds good
You are my inspiration sir!!
Love the work
Got that Ira Glass flow. hah. great work.

Great job looked enjoyable
I'm also interested in the bell song beforehand, lmao
I wish this was a UK based company!
sweet🔥
Having a multimeter handy means never having to read resistor color bands 😁
Yea, this. im new to electronics and found this out the other day, makes like so much easier!
Wow! didn't know they were out of Philly! #phillyproud
Hi, thanks for sharing!
Will get a pair of EQP5s soon.
What caused the round of troubleshooting?
Thanks!
thanks for the video...now I want to build my own preamp. How much did you spend for all the parts to build this preamp?
Great sounding track! How do you like the preamps so far? Would you recommend building them?
Thanks! So far I’ve been keeping the CTX Colour module cranked and I really like the sound.

What troubleshooting did you have to do? I’m about to build a pair of these, and just curious if it’s something I should look out for. Thanks!
What mic were you singing into and were you using any of the Colour on your vocal track?
Which microphone is this preamp for? Is it also with phantom power and how do you connect it?
You forgot to moisten your sponge!!!! Aaah
Are the colour modules easily interchangeable or is it fixed? Would be great if you could change the flavour for different applications.
as easy as swapping out a 500 piece of gear. They have the colour duo that makes it even easier.
Singing into 2 identical mics? Are you taking both mics to the DAW?
How are these connected to other gear? Don't see any xlr/jacks.
The music sounds beautiful, but 500 dollars for DIY preamp sounds quite much :|
Well, you have two Neve mic preamps for that price.
❤C❤O🔴O🔴L
How do we make XLR versions?
Та шо ты там билд блть из модульплат... грустный кит для шламокачеров
