Man!!! Is there anything you CAN'T do in music? You play the violine, you can sing - with a descent voice I have to say - you can solder electric circuitry, you can compose nice songs ... and you are able to create astounding RUclips-videos which are nice to watch, entertaining and - important - most educational. Thank you so much, once again, for the effort you put in your videos. 🤩

this entire video really impressed me...I solder studio cables and do basic fixes, but I've never built anything...this was so inspiring that I'm thinking I might actually be able to do it! And I agree with many of the other comments...great song, cool production and fine singing!

Wow, that is awesome and must instill a little extra pride having a piece of gear in your studio that you can say you assembled yourself!

Before coming into recording and music production..I was into making circuits preamps , amplifiers and even I built my own 4track analogue recorder for my custom build studio...it's almost 25 years back or more...I still remember my custom mic preamps I built...some transistors based some FET based...you reminded everything... 🙌🙏

Love my CP5 ... have mine loaded with the Royal Blue (vintage Neve) Colour module. I also have a pair of the Colour 500-Series Palette mkII loaded with Tape Saturation, Royal Blue and Implode FET Compressor which I use to add color when I do my mastering. DIYRE makes some really great stuff. For the record I always have them pre-built. Really like the vibe of your song as well. Nice video! Bought Running out the Clock. 👍

I stumbled across your channel a few months ago and have absolutely loved your content. I was so excited to find a video made by you when searching for how to build a preamp.
I think I’m going to order some stuff from them in the future!

    nice!
The whole process seems fun... It always feels better to make something on your own, and I got to say, even tho I would never buy a "vinage" preamp, the thought of building one seems great... My wallet is already afraid...

so for the resistors. most basic multimeters measure resistance. so for those resistors, just tap a lead to each end and it will tell you what size that resistor is. it is so much faster than a trying to decoder the color bands

Can I ask what brand of patch bay you are using? Mine is ok, but I may want to replace it in the future. Mine is no longer made, but the company did send me some free jack modules before they stopped manufacturing them. Thanks!

For $500 bucks it should be ready to go not DIY!
I think this DIYre site is cashing in on the so called "audiophiles" where $20k for a turntable is a justifiable purchase.
    Those guys don't have wives.
