I really like Subaru as a character because he is a protagonist with many, many flaws, but a good heart. Who strives to do better, but reflects all that insecurity, selfishness and pride that many times people have in bad times. That's why sometimes it's easy to feel frustrated or disappointed with him, but at the same time proud of how he tries not to let his flaws define him
I think her mother is a Witch but not the same one your thinking. Read some of the Light novels but not that far in, I know as far as the New season coming out. Gonna be awesome!

Don't think so, the only half elf was Satella, and we know Emilia's father was human and **ner*a was not a half elf, so she can't be her mother.
