For real dude they dropped the ball soooo hard with his air juggles. I was so jazzed when I first played yakuza 5 and got to where Akiyama gets the air juggle ability. I was like “OH SHOOT WE MAHVEL NOW BABY” but as I used it I found out just how janky it was. Multiple bosses and coliseum fighters ignore it and sometimes the juggle will drop due to the first hit not connecting which happens a *lot* with the running launcher. I wish it was good so damn badly but it really is a pain to use and the way it messes up his heavy attacks are a big factor as to why Akiyama is way less fun in 5 than 4.
@@BobsonQDugnutt The real kicker is that the drive/launch moves are intrusive: once you have Heat, certain moves get replaced with Launchers which can happen mid-combo.

Y4 Akiyama might be one of the most fun characters to play in the series. You can cancel so many attacks and use quickstep attacks to do crazy combos. It's incredible, if only him and Tanimura could fight in the arena
@@Zephhi lmaoooo in 4, akiyama is literally the strongest character gameplay wise, aside from kiryu. 5 akiyama got nerfed into the floor, and is by far the weakest of the four, try using akiyama in the coliseum in 5, you will have an extremely bad time.
