    This was my first plane and it is fantastic. Everyone says Aeroscout which I understand because the prop is more protected but it is ugly in my opinion. The Ranger looks like the Cessna it is and is very durable and capable. I think it's the best medium large sized trainer there is and the RTF option with floats offers the complete package. I fly mine with 2700mah batteries. Fun fun fun.

      I need help with batteries. I was going to get 2200 mah 25c but I also see the 35C. Can I use both?

    • @DuneDaddyO
      @DuneDaddyO 3 месяца назад

      @@paulriccio5333 yes. The higher the C rating, the better the "punch" or burst and discharge performance. 50 C is good but anything over is usually not true. It is highly understood that for the most part C ratings are pretty much bogus as we can't really prove it. Get the size and weight that the plane will fly well with and try and take care of them the best you can. Be extra careful after a crash that the pack is also not damaged. Sometimes you can damage or dent one of the cells and it won't charge any longer then safely dispose of it. It's part of the hobby.

    Hi, friend! I would like to acquire my first FMS brand airplane (but I am actually very concerned about the compatibility of the electronics, that is... most Horizon RTF airplanes contain spektrum electronics and many times their models are limited to said electronics... which raises them to a slightly higher cost! (E-flite, hobbyzone) my question: Is it possible to install any other ESC and receiver like Flysky on FMS airplanes in order to reduce costs and not lose so much quality? .. How does the quality of the ESCs that FMS puts on their planes compare to the renowned Spektrum electronics? greetings Which and what brand of transmitters does FMS use for its airplanes? thanks for sharing

    Is it possible to hand launch it?

      I think it probably could be with the right person launching it

    I must say, after watching a ton of videos over the past few days you are the first one I have found that actually went through how simple it is to bind a controller and program individual buttons or switches. It made me feel a lot more confident when it comes time to move on from my RTF And switch to a PnP! Thank you lol

    Thats too hard for new pilots. Its easier just to put rates on one switch like a rtf plane is. Ive only been flying for 2 years thats how i do it. Less switches to mess with. Thanks great video. Thats just my opinion from a newbie.

      @jayajustin3096 unfortunately, there are those that forget that they too were a beginner at one time as well.

      @@jayaustin3096 Sorry if you took it the wrong way. I was saying this because Chris flies really advanced models and to step back and demo this model must have been like going back to the basics.

    information 8:00 the tail should NOT be made heavier, by putting servos there.!!! 8:32 the mass of wing-located servos should be located forward-of the thirty percent of chord line. 8:36 the model should be supported a FEW inches from the fuselage, during cg-balancing. the optimal location of cg is at thirty percent of chord (or mac). in this case, the use of a larger battery apparently forces the cg to be located forward-of its optimal position. d

    • @Thercgeek
      @Thercgeek  8 месяцев назад

      That is a pretty broad swipe of the brush there. The servo location I get what you’re saying, but so long as the cg works out, it’s fine and servos in the tails is pretty standard for prebuilt airframes these days (not the way I do it on my own built stuff). However, a one size fits all solution to cg might work on a simple Hershey bar wing like this, but not when you start talking about more complex designs and geometries. There’s also personal preferences in feel too when talking about cg. We can agree to disagree on this, but I would never recommend a 30% Mac cg location as a start because that doesn’t guarantee static stability in flight since it would be behind the cp of the wing. That would be an aft location I would recommend working up to depending on the style of flying you’re looking to perform.

    Hello. This small FMS Ranger is my first plane. I totally agree with your comments.
    I recommand it for all beginners. Very secure with its gyro. For absolute begineers you will able to fly alone after 6-8 hrs of practice with your instructor.
    Just take care with your speed of landing😅.
    Now, I fly since 2 years on gliders, but I will come back to plane with a warbird I think.
    Take care & best wishes for 2024.🎉

      what you need a flight instructor?

    • @JPh35
      @JPh35 3 месяца назад

      @@Ryan_LikesVRTrains it is better to start with instructor (my opinion) when you never have flight on RC control model.
      After that initial period of learning, this small FMS help you to get autonomus and confidence.

    Nice video you made. But when we find any rates too sensitive, we adjust the push rods outwards (not inwards to the servo Center)!
    Also some radio has stick lever height adjustment which is helpful for less sensitive control👍
