52:27 I’ll never forget walking up the door towards the nail, seeing it glow for the first time amidst the dark and the music greeting its melancholic beauty to me. This is why I play video games, for these experiences
I think that's the best piece in the whole part, and I truly agree. Loved it during the event, I would just teleport to the location with the sign and stand around listening to it :)
Same! After I unlocked that last locked door, I purposefully switched to walking, and as a result 53:03 hit me *exactly* as I saw the Nail, and the emotion I felt cannot be conveyed with words.
"A Secret is held" and "Dreaming Earth" are very intriguing to me because they only play in one small cave. This cave can be found after following a seelie and it clearly has a connection or at least a resemblance to Sumeru. Paimon mentions that this place reminds her of a story about Sumeru. The cave has healthy green grass, branches reaching out to an exit you cannot reach, mushrooms, water and lilypads, and an ambience of birds chirping and flying. After using your elemental sight to find three leaves, you can activate an anemo, geo and electro monument to receive a chest. After opening it, you get the achievement "The People of the Valley of Life" along with the four star quest item "shrivelled seed". This cave is just so beautiful and peaceful compared to what the Chasm truly is. I don't know if we'll get any answers about it, but I do know that that shrivelled seed will be important in the future.
Thank you for letting me know!! I knew I hadn't heard the 1st 2 tracks, realised I've probably not explored there yet! After hearing these tracks, I remember I've so much more to discover, it all sounds very exciting, especially the little titbits of Sumeru!! ^w^
Also, the cave only has the elements of the regions we have visited so far - anemo for Mondstat, geo for Liyue and electro for Inazuma. It feels like it was hinting at Sumeru
This is one of the reasons why I’ve never gotten bored with Genshin as a whole. I get bored in single moments and that’s a sign to take a break, but my love for the game has stayed crazy strong even after I reached AR60. The music is just so, so good, and music is always a major factor in making me want to play a game or not
And the deep story behind these musics. At the journey's end, what will we meet? Could it be desparation and ruin? But we have to find out the truth no matter what.
Track 21🔥🔥🔥It gives that dragonspine vibe... They both have similar location too. The skyfrost nail (tallest point on the map) and the chasm nail (lowest point on the map)
Blind Search is my favorite part of the mining sector. The ominous feel is just perfect. The inverse city soundtrack is well made too, but I'll say the pillar music is the goat of all second sector tracks
0:01 Everyone is talking about the last track but just listen to the first 2, I swear nothing had ever put me in more peace than this little cave at the top right of the map. i remember sitting here with all volume except for music volume down. i just sat there and listened. even recorded it for my friends that havent explored that far yet lol. it will always bring me peace no matter what. i love coming back to it and just taking it in that this game went from only mondstadt to so many under ground areas and even fontaines about to come out. its honestly crazy. but no matter what this little cave will always be my favourite area ever. and now that the 2 tracks have ended on my end ill stop typing now. thats all i wanted to say.
The music in the dendro area is so beautiful. I remember the first time I got there, I stayed there for almost half an hour and when I left, it glitched and the music kept on playing in other areas as well, lol.
Makes me incredibly hyped for Sumeru, because I'm guessing this is a kind of preview of what Sumeru's soundtrack will be like. Same thing for 44:14 and the song after it.
The bittersweetness of the tracks fit so well with that area. Finding the only place with light in the lifeless Chasm would certainly remind anyone of the beautiful world outside.
@@graydient1106 I just finished doing yae's story quest and I realised those quest related domains does have that transition too. I think maybe enkanomiya too iirc? not too sure
52:27 when my first time hearing this song and seeing the giant nail, idk I feel like I wanted to cry, feel like the song and the place telling me there's a lot sad story in that place. I just standing there with my character, seeing the giant nail glowing, after finished the quest then I found Zhiqiong's latter, I read with this song playing and started crying, I'm so worried about her, I hope she is okay, I hope to meet her again in the future, but after the event with Xiao and Yelan idk anymore... Chasm is amazing place, full of mystery.
1:55 really makes you feel hopeless... if I'm not mistaken.. this ost was played during the fatuii quest.. how they felt helpless without any food and not knowing how to get out...
I really feel bad about them while it's playing, when the situation comes down to survival, it won't be any difference between fatui or millelith, anyone in that fatui's situation would lost hope, but glad we gave them food to at least fight us
if i recall, this was played in the area where there are big tree roots with the 3 archon element totems.. where you get the shriveled seed or something.
Funnily enough, I feel the exact opposite. This track only plays in one single place, so you're likely thinking of a different one. This plays in a small cave with a lot of tree roots, green grass, birds chirping, and an overall safe, wholesome feel. A lone sanctuary amidst the dark.
Decayed in Darkness/A Shard in Past Glories has become one of my favourite themes in this game. It’s sad yet beautiful, and the combat variation sneaking in when you meet an enemy is just perfect. It makes me miss something that I haven’t known that well; I guess that’s how I feel about Khaneri’ah haha. I 100%’ed the underground map 3 weeks after 2.6 released but still come back to the nameless ruin to hear the tracks sometimes.
as soon as the disc starts, it is already breathtaking. I got into this game because of the incredible soundtrack, and I don't regret it. Amazing job, Yu-Peng Chen and the guys at HOYO MiX, thank you very much !
I admire the composer of this game every time. The soundtracks of this location are truly terrifying, they sound like an echo of the distant past of this place, which holds the terrible truth about people and gods. Walking through the caves, I can't help thinking that all the rock in Chasm is frozen cubes of Asmodeus. This is especially visible near the Nail or at the entrance to the Chasm. The realization of the scale of that tragedy, the fact that people do not know about what happened here centuries ago, together with this AMAZING soundtrack, really presses and makes you think even more about what Heavenly Principles really are. You know, after the release of Tsurumi Island, I thought that no other story in Genshin would hook me so much... Well, now I'm crying because of a story that wasn't even told. Again.
When I'm in the Chasm, I'm usually too tense and scared to enjoy the music. That Archon quest really shook me up. But hearing the music here, it's like a whole new experience. It's more beautiful than I expected.
54:34 IS SO AMAZING!! I swear I get goosebumps sometimes just listening to this part. I remember one of the first times that I had the menu pulled up whilst in the chasm and had my headphones still on, AND SUDDENLY I'M HIT WITH THIS BEAUTIFUL MOMENT. Genshin's music is one of the things that makes this game so amazing, and I'd really love to go to a concert someday!
"a glimmer of hope" makes me so uneasy and gives me the chills, especially 17:10 and the part where all of the pitches start seperating... it captures the darkness of the chasm so well
The area is called "Roots of the Valley of Life" and features a preview of Sumeru's OST, the plant comes from Sumeru so I imagine it's missing its hometown, being planted in the Chasm. the song is very emotional
The first 2 tracks in the game are my #1 favourites in the whole game. Like I love them SO MUCH. They play in those secret areas and they are just soo peaceful yet sad. I literally cried when I first heard these in game I am not joking. They kinda give off Nier/Life is Strange vibes. Best tracks in the game and a prelude to more in Sumeru. We can see the first light of it from the chasm.~
I can't believe they actually keep in what sounds like the breathing / inhaling of the flautist as part of the recording (very clearly heard in track 14 - A Venture Into the Unknown)! What a unique effect! I can't really think of any other times I've heard that before as part of a recorded track (not counting concert / live recordings).
I could tell someone these are the OSTs from a free game and they would never believe me. if anything disappoints in genshin music never does like literally never :D
Secret is Held, Dreaming Earth, A Venture into the Unknown, Decayed in the Darkness, A Shard From Past Glories, A Path to Delusions, and the Stories of the Remote Antiquity are soooo good, especially the last one. Gives shivers and tears each time.
Chasm wouldn't have been half as exciting and immersive if not for these masterpieces accompanying us in the journey. So glad we got such an early OST drop
I fell in love with track 2 so much after listening it to the first time since it reminded me of Minecraft music. Dreaming Earth is such a fitting name for it.
52:27 idk why but everytime i hear this ost, it always reminds me of Dainslef, him and other Khanrieah people who suffered from tragedy, Xiao who also dealt a terrible tragedy of loosing family and nearly loosing his mind until Venti accidently helped him with flute music. Genshin music like this always hurt me
Came here for Decayed in the Darkness because it's haunting and it does not disappoint. Decayed in Darkness and Faded Memories from Tsurumi are my favorites
seriously I think it might be worth it at this point to turn down all other game volume besides the music and just appreciate it. it’s so gorgeous and should definitely be paid more attention to
My most favorite soundtracks out of those are definitely A Venture into the Unknown (26:15) and Stories of Remote Antiquity (52:27). The former is just peaceful, while the latter is emotional -- makes you question everything that's happened in the Chasm.
Ahh yes... Finally I can get to know the official title of one of my favourite Chasm's BGM. 12:12 "Blind Search" is the very first one to be played when I entered the underground for the first time, and its already give me the gloomy and ominous vibes of the vast and mysterious Chasm.
