It was the first two weeks of June. Bugs weren't bad this year, and I only had to wear a head net a couple times. Not bad for spring. Big problem was high water, and the next day I get stuck (paddling at 120% thrust and not gaining) in the fast water and eventually have to haul over slippery granite and then later bushwhack and pull the canoe from shore. To me it's worth it though as I love that part of the park.
Looks like a nice trip. Was this a late May trip? Didn't appear to be many bugs....were black flies out yet?
