I read a book called ‘as old as time’ and it was a beauty and the beast story which talked about Maurice and belle’s mother (Rosalind) she’s supposedly the enchantress that cursed the beast. I recommend it, it’s actually quite good!
Well from what I've learned from the original story it was implied that Belle/Beauty's mother was a fairy; but not the same one who cursed the Beast. I do like the idea of Belle's mother being a fairy of some sort; but if she was the enchantress it would make her a lot more unlikeable.
i saw in a video that walt disney was so devastated when his mother died and he didn't want to be reminded of her so maybe that's why most disney characters grow up without a mother.
I like the actaul true version with Petrus Gonsalvus and Catherine Gonsalvus that was in the 1500's in France. Oh and you forgot about the Twisted Tales by Disney, in the book Belle's mother is an enchantress.
Fun Fact: The Bimbettes, the three sisters who have a crush on Gaston, are the closest counterparts to Belle's sisters from the original Beauty and the Beast fairy tale.
Ok. Hear me out. What if Belles mom was a nobility enchantress/ shape shifter but fell in love with a common man, and had his child. After her child, Belle was born she (Belles mom) got the plague, and told her husband to flee with the baby. However, before the plague killed her, she discovered that if she took a different shape, the plague didn’t affect her, so in order to survive she changed into a beautiful BLONDE woman. Eventually she found where her husband would go, wanting to be close to her family, and heard of the horrible prince. Being from the nobility, she new what horrors this could bring to her family. So she cursed him. After that she went on with her life shapeshifting as not to die, but eventually met her demise in the war. Crazy but It works, right?
Woah, what a story. Besides, we’re allowed to connect the Disney worlds how we want to if we want to, because that’s the spirit of Disney. Btw, I quoted the director of Tarzan and Frozen
Yeah bc in the non-original or original (I don’t remember I have watched both) movie beast and belle go to their former house and it shows that a plague doctor is talking to her father abt how belle’s mom is going to die so belle’s mom tells Maurice to take belle and run so they don’t get infected and die
If her mom was a part of the nobility, that would explain why Belle would have enough money to buy books and not have to work a lot to help out.Not many people got an education back then. But high profiled people did so she would have money. They even have their own land and a little farm.Plus,Maurice had his own bed frame. That must have been expensive since most people really didn't have bed frames.Maybe her mom was higher than just the nobility. They did say in Belle's castle that there was a picture of a lady that looked like Belle's mom.Weren't there these flowers that stood for royalty? If that was Belle's mom(probably is)that would make her royalty.Which means Belle's mom was a part of royalty. To be part of the nobility, wouldn't you have to have a Royal status? That would make sense if Belle's mom was a part of a Royal family. So it was basically Belle's destiny to be a royal. In conclusion, all my evidence(not really)states the fact that Belle is really a Royal in hiding and Belle never this.I might have another theory of her being a fairy who had brainwashed everyone so no one would know about the curse and just hid somewhere far without telling anyone.
Wait a minute. In the 2017 live action remake of Beauty and the Beast, the Beast takes Belle to her childhood home that her mom was in and it shows a plague mask that the doctors wore and Belle's mom had caught the bubonic plague a.k.a. the black plague, so she sent Maurice and Belle away for Belle's safety, so Belle wouldn't catch the bubonic plague. So the 2017 version of Beauty and the Beast is historically accurate in what happened to Belle's mom.
It is most likely that these movies are made after Walt’s tragedy. Flora Disney died because of a posioning air filter but Elias Disney survived. Roy and Walt were somewhat depressed during that time.
Personally, I think that when Belle’s mom died in the live action movie, she became a beautiful angel. She sought for evil, Abby rude people, trying to turn them kind, then he found Adam, and tested him, and maybe after she turned into a maid or something for the castle to look after Belle and Adam. Don’t diss my idea it’s just a thought
The reason most people in Disney films do not have a mother is because Disney felt guilty about his own mother’s passing and it was hard for him to include mothers since he lost his

I somewhere read that Belle was actually a distant land princess whom the merchant’s(later Belle’s dad) wife stole when she was an infant. The wife did it after she lost her own daughter who was suffering from an incurable disease. Later, she died of heartbreak.
That makes a lot more sence! I loved this comment! Thnx for clearing that up for me! OMG I GOT HIGHLIGHTED THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU THAT HAS NEVER HAPPEND TO ME !!!!!!!!!
The story I read was about a merchant who had 3 daughters and 2 were selfish but 1 was kind the kind one (bell) was his favorite daughter so when the man went traveling he asked his daughter for what they want the kind one asked for a red rose. As he travelled he got into a shipwreck and landed on an island. Here some mysterious being invited him to a castle with a table is already set up (he only heard a voice but doesn't see anyone) after eating the merchant goes to the garden wear he finds a beautiful red rose and decided to get it for his daughter then the voice gets mad at him for stealing his rose and it gives him a ring and says that he now has to give up a daughter by teleporting his daughter using the ring. He gets home and when Bell finds out she secretly put on the ring. There the voice treats her kindly. One day she by accident seas the voice which is a monster and the beast gets upset and returns her home cause he likes her. He gives her a gifts for her family and the ring and says that if she doesn't get back before midnight he dies. Her sisters get jelouse so they wind the clock past midnight and change the real time right after Bell finds out and huries back to find him dying then she kissed him and he turned human they got married and lived happily ever after.
I say like from the original fairy tale and Disney version in my opinion with a theory Belle's dad is a widower since her mom died of a illness when Belle was a kid at the age of 8 and her mom was never really the enchantress who cursed the prince into the beast. Belle's childhood began before her mother's death, her with her family as only non-royal villagers in their town and as Maurice is a inventor, she lived in her cottage home after her birth Belle is so close to her parents and their horse Phillippe that she love them both dearly, the only ones that not made her lonely like the townspeople who only sees her and her family differently odd Belle attend her village school to earn her education by reading her beloved books while spent having books from the town's bookshop by a true friendly bookseller who seems this he does understands and likes her for her love of his books. Although never had a library also in the village probably very expensive to build one. All most of her life before she grows up into a young woman at the age of 17 with the events of Beauty and the beast story, every day in her provincial town there's isn't anything new exciting but only happened in stories that she had read especially to get away from her judgmental neighbors and that ignorant bad-mannered Gaston. so here's Belle's interesting childhood that I only made up fictionally for the story along with the theory of Belle's mom.
BTW Disney doesn't have anything against moms. Walt's mother died and he believed it was his fault. There was a gas leakage in her house, he sent the Disney crew instead of the professionals, there was an explosion, and it just, hurt his heart to write about mothers when he killed his
Reasons why there was not a lot of mothers in the traditional tales. Woman often died in childbirth. As for the Disney movies, Disney was bitter about his own lack of mother.
I believe that the live action 2017 Beauty and the Beast is more accurate. As for Once Upon A Time, I don't think it was actually made by Disney do to the fact that the show never aired on Disney Channel. Besides, Rumplestiltskin is said to be the Beast in Once Upon A Time which goes against Beast being a prince as portrayed in the original story and all the Disney adaptations. By that logic, Once Upon A Time isn't even canon to any of the Disney movies.
In the movie, the enchantress greets Maurice because she is a local beggar woman named Agatha (judging by her clothes and how people treat her) but she is later shown to be the Enchantress... so perhaps she took away Maurice's memory of her and watched over Belle form afar? Although there's a few people saying it's true cause Disney put out a book about this so I'm pretty convinced she was the Enchantress
If disney ever made a spin-off to go with the live action little mermaid, Melody would probably be introduced as being ariel's daughter and eric's Daughter The actress who's gonna play as melody has to sing as good as halley Bailey
If i can remember when i watch 2017 beauty and the beast belle’s mom was ill and there was a war that time and her mother told marice to take beauty and take care of her then died!
WAIT A SECOND Ariel knew her mother because in the first movie she was young and had a mother.but her mother died bc of a pirate ship and her mother and father and family were young caught u red handed! XD
It make sense!! The enchantress offered a single rose to the price because she appreciate and love roses and she also used a single rose fir the Prince's deadline to find true love.Bell also love roses!!! She and the prince meet because of a single rose.
I've read a very old book way back when i was young, in 1990's a book about the original story of the beauty and the beast. Belle's mother died while she was giving birth to her youngest child and that is belle.
Theory:belle has 3 older sisters, from the animated version of this movie the blonde girls that loved gaston and belle were old enough to live on their own, but belle stayed with her father, and a helpful thing to back me up is when the girls are saying how belles crazy not loving gaston because they always thought she was weird reading books and other stuff.
she die from the plague when belle was baby her father didn't want to leave her alone but the mother told him to get belle outta of here before it gets her! so honestly its in the live action movie
The reason quite a few disney characters don't have moms it's because Walt Disney lost his mother at a young age so he concorporates that into his movies
In the original fairy tale from Gabrielle Suzanne of Villeneuve ( written in 1740) Belle is the youngest daughter of a Widower merchant. She is courageous, intelligent and unselfish and....beautiful as .....She has 3 selfish sisters and 4 selfish brothers. When their father ( owner of ships) think he can offer great gifts to his children, Belle is the only one who desires that her father remains safe. ( The others asking for weapons or Jewellery) . Her father insisting ( like the King Lear with his daughter Cordelia) she only wants a rose . But the father is taken prisoner in an enchanting castle , property of a Beast ( we find the Disney story). Belle of course takes the place of her father. But the beast, excited by the acceptance of Belle ( and the fact she is deadly hot) wants her to sleep with him nearly every night ( what a beast !!!!) but Belle refuses. ( Easy to imagine why !!!) . What is odd is that in the original tale, Belle dreams of a prince in the castle and another night of a Beast killed. She dreams too f an enchanteress. The end is similar to the movie.
In the live action move The enchantress is the one who saved Morris. One of the hints is at the fighting Sean at the castle she is the only one walking toward the enchanted objects and nothing happened to her. It was like they could not see her or new her
The reason they have no mothers is because Walt Disney lost his mother. Oh and Belle's mom is the enchantress who cursed the prince/beast. It's in a Disney book called 'A Tale As Old As Time'.
The 2017 live action Beauty and the Beast showed how Belle lost her mother because her mother got the plague and Belle was forced to move away before she got the disease and not only did this movie show Belle's mother but also Chip's father who was never seen in the 1991 animated classic.
The reason most Disney princesses don’t have moms, is because Disney himself, didn’t have a mom.( he DID but his mom died) so to represent him, they do that. I thought you should know! 😁
So Belle was a time-traveler? In Sleeping Beauty, Prince Philip reminds his father (King Hubert) that they live in "modern times"--THE FOURTEENTH CENTURY. Beauty and the Beast clearly takes place in the mid- to late-EIGHTEENTH CENTURY. Therefore, unless Belle had the power to go back to Aurora's time, that theory makes ZERO sense.
If you read the Disney villain book series, if I remember correctly I believe that it says something about the witch who cursed beast actually being the youngest yet strongest of 4 Witches. I don't know why I said this I just thought it'd be useful.
With my opinion Maurice is not crazy to me that I'm on Belle's side he's truly a great genius inventor everyone and the villagers are so bad judgmental including in this video of the person saying about Maurice I guess but at least I'm staying positive with Belle's dad same thing as Belle did for her good fascinating loving father.
8:37 Not all of them lost their heads. Marie Therese and Louis Charles did not lose their heads, though one of them died of illness and the other survived, married, and started a family.
i started laughing at this because in the new live action movie beauty and the beast they said belles mom DIED FROM THE PLAGUE and i think they show her in the movie o-O
In the original tale, the Beast wants to sleep every night with Belle ( understandable !! ) But the courageous and beautiful Belle refuses everytime ( understandable !!) . It would have been interesting to see that in the Disney movie !!!
The reason Disney has no moms is because Walt’s mom died because of an oil spill or something and was really ill and was his dad but me survived his mom, unfortunately died
Omg yes she is the enchanting fairy lady cuz when she died in the beauty and the beast film she held a rose also she kinda in the film beauty and the beast the mum looked like mama norris
5:8 ,disney does not have a thing against mothers it's just that Walts mother died and he felt guilty about it and started making most of the main characters orphans
Did anybody realize that Jane from Tarzan looks like Belle and the theory that that was her grandma a kid and then Bella's mom was born and then bells mom had a kid and then died?
I read a book called ‘as old as time’ and it was a beauty and the beast story which talked about Maurice and belle’s mother (Rosalind) she’s supposedly the enchantress that cursed the beast. I recommend it, it’s actually quite good!

The 2017 live action Beauty and the Beast showed how Belle lost her mother because her mother got the plague and Belle was forced to move away before she got the disease and not only did this movie show Belle's mother but also Chip's father who was never seen in the 1991 animated classic.
This is very good
The reason most Disney princesses don’t have moms, is because Disney himself, didn’t have a mom.( he DID but his mom died) so to represent him, they do that. I thought you should know! 😁
I herd that the person who first started Disney , that he lost his mum , maybe that’s why most Disney princesses didn’t have a mum
The reason that Disney doesn’t have moms is because when Walt Disney was in his 20s his mother passed away and wanted to keep her alive 🙂
In the live action version they said she died when belle was just a baby. She got the plague. There’s even a clip showing her in the movie
I like the 2017 live action version better because it says a lot more about the history and time period Of the movie
in the book series The Land of Stories, they say that Beauty (aka) Belle was Sleeping Beauty's mom.
I just love it so much and I can't believe that this is what happened!!!
I love the serie once uponce time
I feel so bad for BELLE because her mother died when BELLE was just a little girl I'm sure it was rough for BELLE when her mother died
If you read the Disney villain book series, if I remember correctly I believe that it says something about the witch who cursed beast actually being the youngest yet strongest of 4 Witches. I don't know why I said this I just thought it'd be useful.
With my opinion Maurice is not crazy to me that I'm on Belle's side he's truly a great genius inventor everyone and the villagers are so bad judgmental including in this video of the person saying about Maurice I guess
but at least I'm staying positive with Belle's dad same thing as Belle did
for her good fascinating loving father.
Story is that Walt Disney lost his mother and didn't want to show any film with mothers because of it.
Wow that is cool
8:37 Not all of them lost their heads. Marie Therese and Louis Charles did not lose their heads, though one of them died of illness and the other survived, married, and started a family.
i started laughing at this because in the new live action movie beauty and the beast they said belles mom DIED FROM THE PLAGUE and i think they show her in the movie o-O
I have a question
How did belle and her family lose there fourton?
it might of been cause belle's mom got the plague so they didnt let her in the castle and took there fortune
In the original tale, the Beast wants to sleep every night with Belle ( understandable !! ) But the courageous and beautiful Belle refuses everytime ( understandable !!) . It would have been interesting to see that in the Disney movie !!!
Most of the disney princess dont have moms because walt disneys mom died in a house he bought so he feels guilty
The reason Disney has no moms is because Walt’s mom died because of an oil spill or something and was really ill and was his dad but me survived his mom, unfortunately died
Bruh-cinderella has a mom that just pass away😭
Bell was my first Disney movie
Omg yes she is the enchanting fairy lady cuz when she died in the beauty and the beast film she held a rose also she kinda in the film beauty and the beast the mum looked like mama norris
Belle's mom could have not died from the plauge it ended in the 1660s but in beauty and the beast it is the 18th century
Hi I'm a fan
Except for the fact that Louis 17th’s heart was removed after he died. Adam being lost Louis 17th doesn’t make any sense
Mrs. pots might have also been cursed to forget them
Omgaaawd i am one of the first. Btw i love TheThings 💖
maybe bell mother was one of the servants of the beast and just never could come back while the curse was on the castle
Omg I never knew beast had a name before
you are the best
