Thanks man. It’s such a unique guitar to be honest. Also, when I use it, I feel like playing stuff that is completely different from what I usually play. Weird feeling but I love the guitars they make!
I've had the guitar for about two months. I bought it myself, so I wasn't as biased as some reviewers that were given guitars. If you're interested here's my pros & Cons: Pros: Guitar does sound great. it is a decent electric/acoustic, but really shines in being able to get on board effects without amplification The guitar has nice finish & feel, however I'm used to playing a well set-up Taylor 614 so the action is just a smidge high for my taste. I may shave the bridge a bit eventually. FX are great. Playing un-amped they add a good flavor. Forget about the distortion setting unless you're running through an amp. Case is nice and solid and protects the guitar well. More on the case below. Charger cradles the guitar snuggly and automatically charges the guitar. It's USB-C and doesn't come with a charger, so you may need an adapter for the cable. Other than that, most reviews give a far better report on the capabilities of the instrument, so check them out like I did. Cons. These are things no reviewer seems to be addressing: My lava has a nice blue metallic finish. Looks very cool. While the guitar is made of carbon fiber, I'm not sure how well the finish will hold up. I'm pretty careful with all my guitars and most I've owned for decades and they still look almost showroom. My lava has a couple of minor scratches already that I have no idea where they came from. ELECTRONICS. The touch screen is very sensitive and at the same time has a bit more of a lag than you would be used to on a smart phone. Most notable is the absence of any home button. You'll have to page back to get there. Additionally, due to the rounded shape, I have a tendency to lean over the body when I'm sitting and playing and my chest triggers the screen. I can tell when that happens, because the most annoying loud click accompanies any changes. If you're playing out, be prepared to settle on a set sound or template for the whole song. Shifting to another one is not as easy as hitting a button on a pedal. I mentioned my chest activating the touch screen. Usually that would not be a problem. What is a problem is the Lava uses a nice machined strap peg THAT DOESN'T FIT ANY STRAP. If you like any kind of strap lock, forget about using it. Dimensionally the strap pegs are larger than the throat of any standard peg. I would have bought the Lava strap, but they have been out of stock. I use d'Addario straps with locking ends and it would take major modifications. So I broke down and bought a ice leather strap which I now have to ream out the hole to make it fit. I'm not sure if you could even swap out the stap pegs as they have no screw and I'm not ready to twist them off and create another problem. CASE: It's amazing that you can drop a thousand bucks on a guitar and have to pay extra for a proprietary case, but hey, I'm made of money so I went for it. Case fits very well and is form fitting. It doesn't leave room for a strap (If I finally get one to fit) The case has nice padded shoulder pads, and looks like the type that a Japanese school girl would have. I personally don't care to strap a guitar on my back unless I'm trail hiking. The straps do not come off so love them or live with them. The case has a nice soft handle, but is nowhere near the center of balance and like a Gibson SG, suffers from severe neck dive. Seriously walk with this case for twenty steps and you'll opt for the school girl straps. MOST DISSAPOINTING FEATURE: Support, period. Guitar came with no instructions other than to turn it on. The web site is absolutely no help. As I mentioned, being intrigued by the novelty of the guitar, I had to rely on reviewers, most of which were given the guitar. I do wonder what will happen when the rechargable battery goes south, or worse the electonic module. As far as I can see there's no parts support on the website. CONCLUSION:With all this, I bought the guitar for the FX novelty and more importantly for the Carbon Fiber construction. I bought it so that I could have a guitar I could leave out in my studio and grab as I needed to practice or work out asome inspiration. My studio is in my basement and although it's dry, the winter requires me to fill a 5 gallon humidifier to keep optimum moisture levels. So it's a guitar that is not subject to temperature and humidity. That said,I'll keep it for what I intended. I doubt it will ever play out unless it's a barbeque or around a camp fire.
I've decided on getting a smart guitar but i don't know whether to go for this or the lag hi vibe smart guitar. They are of similar price but i think i might prefer the traditional wooden guitar over carbon fibre. I really don't like to buy a guitar without playing it either but i'd have to purchase either of these online and hope for the best.
@@braveheart4603 Despite the things I don't like about the LAVA3, I do like it for the purpose I bought it. That is, I can leave it out and not have to worry about temperature & humidity, and have it at the ready whenever inspiration hits. The neck is 100% straight (Plek'd) and I don't have to worry about cracks and other environmental damage. It does have a different, but pleasant sound, but if you like the warmth of a wood body, then it may not be for you.

I think a big feature everyone misses is that this guitar can share music from guitar to guitar. The screen isn't just a gimmick, it has huge functionality out side of the effects/tuner/metronome... So you can record something on your guitar, sync it to the cloud space, and then someone else in another part of the world can hear what you just recorded out of their own guitar.

Well, I decided to take the plunge( again- I had a lava me 2 and returned it). So far I am impressed. I actually think it will only get better with newer versions but this one seems to be a huge leap forward. I had an issue with it activating from the QR code but resolved that fairly quickly. So far I have been impressed with what appears to be higher quality tuners and the electronics. Intonation and action is really good. I updated the software easily which leads me to believe future improvements will be available over Wi-Fi. Nice guitar. Happy so far.

Just tried this in a store. Amazing. Of course that is my opinion. THe sound was a lot better than in the video. Of I had the cash for it then and There, I would have bought it emediately. I am used to mid range guitars, Martin P51 etc. I am still a novice after 35 years of playing. I shall buy this guitar.
You know... Every guitar I have ever bought no matter how high of quality, I always need to take them to my luthier for a professional setup. No guitar bought in the store and especially on-line will arrive in perfect playing order. So.. what about this one? I know that it is carbon fiber and the neck probably won't need any adjustment. What about the nut and bridge? String height (action) ? Down the road - what about fret wear?
The guitar seems pretty amazing. A couple things I would be concerned about it is of coarse is how it feels playing it since it’s not something I can try out in a music store first. And since it needs charged in a charging station, I would be concerned about the batteries, if they are internal, can they be changed by user when they finally die, or do you have to send it to a service center somewhere? And are they special batteries/ battery that you have to buy from the company? And lastly, I don’t do heavy strings. I’m old and have arthritis a bit, so I use .10 light gauge. But man it would be perfect for soloing at park, or my church! Very interested! Just wish I could play one first! Great review!
Awesome guitar, thanks for the review. I mostly play percussive fingerstyle, I know it's not quite your style but can you tell me anything about finger slaps, wrist bumps and other percussive elements on it? Does the carbon fiber accentuate or dampen it?
This looks really impressive, great features. The only reservation I have is that the guitar itself is obviously built to last, but technology soon becomes outdated. In 5 years time you'll still have a lovely guitar, albeit with a built-in low spec. phone/tablet that can no longer cope with software updates??
Great point man, but its still not a bad bargain considering you'll still be left with an acoustic guitar after all and a few usable features. Most things are this way now anyway...phones, tablets, even cars.
I got one as a gift last night and I was completely blown away, up until then I had no idea anything like this existed. I stayed up all night messing with the settings and effects and made loops and saved them into the guitar itself. He didn't mention in the video that you can import music or even personalized drum tracks from the internet into the unit from your phone and use it as a speaker basically and play along with it. I'm Blown away with this guitar.
Looks very nice... I love the scale trainer idea. Hmm, if I had nearly $2,000 to spend on a guitar though... I just can't quite see myself spending it on this. I record a lot, and know I can dial in all those effects to my liking with various plugins. So for a practice guitar, which is what it essentially would be for me, it's too pricey. I get why it's that expensive though. The tech is really cool and I want to see it catch on!
This guitar sounds amazing an looks like so much fun, especially playing with loops an drums built in be like a one man band, great guitar I'm going start saving for one 👌👍🏴🎸
Thank you for this review! I talked my gf into letting me get this for myself for my birthday in September, I can’t wait! I’ll use your link when I purchase, hope it can help out some.
my friend told me to buy it and so I did. I watched this video AFTER buying it and now I’m suuuuper excited to get it in the mail!! I’m a noob but I want to learn and this looks like a great tool :)
SWEET JESUS! It has a left-handed version! oooooh, I could kiss these people... I've been looking at the Nova GO for a while, but they don't have a left handed version, so I couldn't ever get it... I was fully expecting this to be right handed only, especially since there is so much more to it than the Nova, and their... X3, or X4, or whatever it's called... This makes me so un-needidly happy.
Very interesting guitar. I could imagine that there will be a lot more development in terms of software in the next few years. Thanks for the presentation
great review - i really love the way you show and present as i love your lessons =) - its really astonishing what humans can invent - im quite sure this seems to be the future - for sure its damn impressive and great tool for practise - love how all useful things as looper n stuff combined easy in the instrument - i would buy it for sure , best greetings - have a merry christmas marco - a dear fan ^^
I know! I like the fact that everything is inside the guitar. Tuner, metronome, loop, etc. it takes a moment to navigate all the functions but it is quite interesting to use! :)
Great review. Personally I prefer a traditional guitar and the shape is a bit meh but I gotta say I am tempted. Esp as I still consider myself a beginner so tuning, chord accuracy etc isn't perfect rn so a little enhancement helps boost moral as well as other handy features. Also as a songwriter I love the built in recorder and I plan to do releases soon so the easy to post options are pretty desirable
Gotta admit I was skeptical of this thing until I got my hands on it. Mind blowing. Brilliant review, Marco!

Our musical forefathers would be proud of the inventors of this wonder piece ; simply mind-blowing !💛
Every now and then I see something incredible and this guitar is incredible! Cheers from Ottawa, Canada 🍁
I am glad you enjoyed the video :)
Awesome guitar, thanks for the review. I mostly play percussive fingerstyle, I know it's not quite your style but can you tell me anything about finger slaps, wrist bumps and other percussive elements on it? Does the carbon fiber accentuate or dampen it?
3:20❤❤ love it sound
Everything that progresses is hated before it's loved, great informative video 👍🏽
Man that's absolutely amazing
This is absolutely brilliant
No words, i'll buy it as soon as possible..
I must have this one
It is a mind blowing guitar indeed!!! Love it
The Lava Me 4 will be VR enabled and have no physical strings, so you'll have to use the VR headset to see the strings.
I just got the 38' model and I'm impressed so far...
This is Beyond amazing.🔥🔥🔥
Am getting one this christmas ! 😁
Thanks Marco! 🙃🙏
Finally. Kudos Lava
Incredible. Live looper is awesome
This looks really impressive, great features. The only reservation I have is that the guitar itself is obviously built to last, but technology soon becomes outdated. In 5 years time you'll still have a lovely guitar, albeit with a built-in low spec. phone/tablet that can no longer cope with software updates??
Does this mean acoustic guitars now are outdated? Lol
Good point.
Great point man, but its still not a bad bargain considering you'll still be left with an acoustic guitar after all and a few usable features. Most things are this way now anyway...phones, tablets, even cars.
If you will be thoroughly enjoying this product over 5 years - I'd say this is a worthwhile investment.
On the bright side you might die before the 5 years are up and you can die knowing the money was worth it after all🤣
This is next stage for musicians id say. Reallly cool!
this is insane! excellent
Interesting for sure. Thank you Marco…
Looks amazing!!!!!!!
You can get em used for 600-700
This guitar sounds amazing an looks like so much fun, especially playing with loops an drums built in be like a one man band, great guitar I'm going start saving for one 👌👍🏴🎸
This is my dream guitar.
It looks also awesome!
Thank you for this review! I talked my gf into letting me get this for myself for my birthday in September, I can’t wait! I’ll use your link when I purchase, hope it can help out some.
So lucky are you! Just Awesome!
This seems like the best guitar for someone with absolutely no experience with any musical instrument to learn on.
just got this guitar today , very helpful video and loving this guitar.
wow the guitar scale part is awesome
I want this 😅 The looper itself with drums included is perfect for someone like me whi does not want to bother with a looper pedal.
Wow! I have Lava me2, I've changed the chords and it sounds really good, but now... I want this one :D
That's a very well designed UI ngl. A lot of non techy things with screen that I see have a terrible UI, but this one is chef's kiss, very well done.
my friend told me to buy it and so I did. I watched this video AFTER buying it and now I’m suuuuper excited to get it in the mail!! I’m a noob but I want to learn and this looks like a great tool :)
Just waiting for lava me 3 dual sim 120 hz display..12 gb ram...i needed a gaming guitar
I played one acoustic In a store today. I was stunned how good it sounded
This is pre dope. I can see it being used for a lot of lofi mixes
Best review by far I’ve seen on this guitar and believe me it’s making the rounds on the guitar channels. 😉
Its absolutely awesome man....😍😍
That lava guitar is pretty dope.Great vid as always Marco👏😉
I hope this type of guitar will be in Africa 2022.
Crazy world guitar 🔥🔥🔥🇰🇪
It seems love at 1st to see and hear the amazing of recording sound from guitar
Great review Marco. Clear and concise and answered all my questions about this guitar. I only hope to own one someday. Cheers from Australia 👍 Dan.
Waooow👌....seriously this is insane 😳 I gotta go for this one amazing
Awesome 🤙🏾
Awesome Amazing Wow Incredible
Mind blown!!
I love this Thing 💎
Mind blowing!!!!!! 😊😊😊😊👍👍👍👍
this is really awesome, wish i can buy this one day
Great review.
I’m in love 😍
Very cool guitars!
Awesome!
I love this guitar!!!
but why only 18 frets guitar😰could have 20-22 frets or 24frets with cutaway
This is a dope. Awesome review 👍 Marco.
Finally ready to take the loan to buy this masterpiece 🖤🖤
Is there a midi keyboard version of this? Or any similar type of smart instruments
Awesome review of the LAVA ME3 Guitar.I really love all the features. That Guitar just sounds angelic!
