Mario came out and read tko. but, we were both out. bald bull got the win. I've been playing this game for decades and, have never seen that until a few days back.
Playing this a lot as a kid more than thirty years ago, I was screaming, "just freakin' hit him and he'll go down!" To much dancin' around and not enough offense.
Still more legit than that olympic boxing ref who kept just telling the azerbaijan guy to "get up" instead of counting... (he also started the ten count on the guys opponent when he wasn't even knocked down)

The only way that Great Tiger could be beat before was either by TKO or decision.

A glitch in code causing a jump over a For Loop in programming, with an x variable assigned to the count made by Mario. A big miss which can be caught and removed by a code fix.
The thing is that the game should be programmed to prevent the opponent from getting up on 10. Instead, it was only coded so that they never attempt it normally.
At first I couldn't believe my eyes, then I saw in your description that you did some editing/hacking, and that changes everything, so technically this didn't really happen, but still kinda cool to show, I guess.
the sound is never right on emulators when the guys go down, the high frequency sound is always wrong compared to the actual NES. Ive always wondered why that is.

He got up on a nine count in the first round also. The only fighter in the game that ever does that is Bald Bull 2.

Nope. He could be knocked out if you were fast enough. This was a game glitch. All of the characters could be knocked out.

You can only KO him if you knocked him down two times in one round and one time in the second round
